Try My Nuts

Rating the candies/snacks here. The chocolate covered peanuts, peanut butter meltaways, clusters, anything prepackaged in a bag is delicious. Good quality, prices are a little high for what it is but it's Duck and it's vacation so I try to be flexible. The White Trash is cloyingly sweet but sometimes really hits the spot. There's always been a certain type of humor at a place called Try My Nuts but the FJB merchandise is not clever or interesting. Not buying anything from there this year, the vibe isn't for me anymore and the products don't justify shopping at this store for me anymore.

This place is awesome! Never knew there were so many flavorful nuts, and to top it all off, great merchandise! The shirts they sell are super comfortable and funny! We try to pop in once a day to say hi. Also picked up this sweet bit of merchandise while I was there ( as seen in picture below). If you are feeling adventurous and want to try something different, I'd recommend popping on in and trying their nuts!

We needed snacks for family board game night (OBX-opoly is a favorite). The popcorn place closed early, so I swung into Try My Nuts. The good: The people were SUPER friendly and helpful. I was looking for sweet + salty and they helped me find their new popcorn in both caramel corn and butter. The popcorn was really good. Not the best ever (prepackaged), but it fit the bill and didn't cost an arm and a leg. Did I mention how nice and helpful the staff were? Well, they were great!The bad: The name. I know this is an OBX mainstay, but with an autistic 8-yo son who needs to know all about EVERYTHING all the time and who goes on and on about anything new to him, I could never see myself bringing him into this store. I don't have the energy to explain the joke (it's a weak joke to begin with) and then hear about it for the next day and a half. We would also not go to Dirty Dick's, Biscuits and Porn or any other place with a suspect name (regardless of the quality of what they do). It's just not worth the hassle. I've been here since 9:50am waiting to pick up some nuts before heading home. The employee arrived at 10:13 and still refused to let us in.

This is one of our favorite little shops to visit when we're in OBX. The selection is great -- the staff is friendly -- and the products are tasty. We've even had them ship a box to Ohio for Christmas gifts. We miss the honey sriracha cashews, though!

I tried thier nuts... and i HELLA liked them. Salty nuts, sweet nuts, savory nuts... they were all good. So good, i bought a shit load of nuts and my boyfriend and I just ate each other nuts all week. They have these buttah nuts that are so good. I was licking all that butta-nut goodness off my fingers as to not waste the nuttilicious goodness. Brought some nuts home and shared my nuts with my office peeps. Hella good nuts.No really. I have thier nuts in my mouth right now.How good are the nuts you ask? I managed to spend close to $200 here. If you are planning on visiting... Why the need to have all of the Trump / hate towards our current President stuff in this store? So much hate for no reason how sad. Just stick to the nuts...!

After 8 years visiting this shopping center I finally stopped in this store. Very friendly and funny staff, and so helpful and patient with all the kids roaming the store looking at everything! I see that a lot of the negative reviews are about their political views but I felt very welcomed in this store the minute I walked in... and I'm no Trump supporter! We were offered so many delicious samples and couldn't stop laughing with the staff in this store. Every customer walking out after me came out with a big smile as well. I just wished I bought more of the chocolate covered Ritz peanut butter crackers. They were delicious! Can't wait to come by again next summer and hopefully I'll have the same experience.

I recently visited this store in search of some nuts for my dad. I left without purchasing anything. I was disappointed to see the tasteless political items. The cashier was also having a loud inappropriate conversation about how people should vote. I find this offensive and choose not give a business like this my money.

Fun shop with a large selection of nuts and not related products. Also sell hot sauces, fudge and spices. Great selection of try my nuts t-shirts and novelties
