I love going to this place. I've been here for as long as I can remember getting my fish and shrimp.

Restaurant was stink but the food was really good and seasoned well. The owners (I'm assuming) were both very nice, and my food was ready within 10 minutes of me being there.

I have seen it all now. I do not eat at Trans Seafood on Warwick Blvd in Newport News Va. My 94 year old loves there croaker sandwiches. She sends me to get. Lord this has to be the funkiest place I have ever smelled and they have a riding lawnmower stored feet away from the fish counter with grass on it. This maybe acceptable to some, but not to me. I call the order in not to have to stand in there no longer then I have to. How do you say No to a 94 year old that has pancreatic cancer and they have a taste for a fried croaker sandwich . I prayed over that sandwich and hope the hot grease kills whatever is in there. Where is the health department when you need them. Geez I'm wondering if gas was in the mower.

Fresh seafood made to order. Good portions for low price. Also serve fresh uncooked seafood. Friendly staff. Food doesn't take too long to cook. I suggest getting the fried fish. I really enjoyed them. Hush puppies was good also

This review is solely regarding the experience of buying seafood to cook at home. We bought blue crabs from here which were very fresh! All the crabs were very lively and moving like crazy, and they were incredibly tasty. We didn't even know it was close to our hotel until we yelped and gave them a try. Bonus points for being open until 8PM as many seafood markets close earlier around here.

The outside of the building might make people think twice about going here, but the staff is friendly and the food is good. The fried tilapia and catfish are both good. I didn't like how hard the fried shrimp were fried, so I will probably mention that next time. Also the steamed shrimp come in 2 different flavors of seasonings; spicy and mild. The spicy was really good! I will return.

The crabcake sandwich was absolutely amazing. Its made with real crab meat made into a patty and serves on toasted buns. Will definitely come back and customer service was on point!

They have the best batter recipe and the food is always cooked just right. My favorite is the fried croaker.

These are the WORST crabs I've ever had. They are extremely small and have an odd taste. They are so small that they aren't even worth taking the time to eat them. Don't make the $30.00 (for two dozen) mistake that I made. I have small hands. The claw is next to my pinky in the picture for a frame of reference.

Just stay away.Staff is very friendly but wow cleanliness is not a strong point one bit.The so called fresh fish looks like it had been sitting out for days.I ordered a croaker dinner at first glance the fish was cooked nicely but it tasted like old fish with a very strong hint of bleach.
