I love this YMCA location! All of the staff make us feel like we're family and truly care about our well being. I always choose this location out of all of the YMCA's in the area

They don't provide towels so brin your own if you plan on showering here. The first time I came here from out of town I thought that towels would be provided like all the YMCA's in NC. I was mistaken and had to go through my whole workday being sweaty. Not to mention I had to wait 6 minutes to find out towels aren't provided because the employee at the front desk was on the phone. They really should have two people working the front desk but they seem understaffed. I've been here twice and every time the employee(s) are on the phone. I barely feel noticed. The weight equipment is adequate and the newer cardio equipment (i.e The Precor Elipticals) are the best thing about this gym because I can sync my Apple Watch to the equipment. I only go to this location if I'm going to do cardio or if I can't make it to any other gym.

The staff are always friendly and helpful to me. The facility is not as advanced as some others I've been to but it's much older.

Went here today when our local victory YMCA pool was closed. We get there and an employee behind the front desk told us the pool was closed for several hours for water aerobics then camp swim (and no my kids can't swim during camp swim). She said the splash pad was also closed during that time. My mother then picked up a pool calendar and said "oh. It it says here that the splash pad doesn't close until 1pm and it's just now 11:30." The employee said "oh, well I guess it's about to close then." So we go outside to make use of the splash pad until it closes. The lifeguard keeps yelling at my 17 month old to walk not run, which is funny cause a baby that age doesn't know what you mean. He doesn't know the word walk yet. Then he got on to my 17 month old for drinking the water. Ummm why does this matter? Then he asked to see my child's life jacket (that we had brought thinking we would be in the pool), saying they probably wouldn't allow it. I informed him it was a puddle jumper and was coast guard approved. He said "oh." Last but not least at this YMCA there's no family changing rooms. And children (not even babies) are allowed in the women's locker room. I asked the front desk where I would need to go to change a diaper though and where I could take my older child to the restroom to change. They said there's a youth locker room but I wasn't allowed in it to help wipe my kids butt after he goes to the bathroom. And they didn't know what to tell me about the baby. How is this possible??? Isn't YMCA supposed to be family friendly?
