Toast, New American Gastropub at the Village

Had an amazing dinner here with a few friends after work! One of the things I love about this place is their later happy hour, which gave me the chance to indulge in a mixed berry margarita. Which was absolutely delicious. For food, I went with the meatloaf sandwich and a side of sweet potato tots, and both were on point. The tots came with a side of chipotle aioli that really differentiated this side from others. As a person who loves a sweet and savory combo, this hit the spot. I got to share it with my table mates and they all agreed. Our server was really friendly and attentive which was nice. The ambiance was lively and fun with dimmed/moody lighting. It has a fun balance between casual and romantic which I liked. I was lucky enough to get seated right away around 5:30pm. By the time we left, the place was packed with families, couples, and college students, so I'd recommend arriving a little earlier if you want to skip the wait. Overall, this spot is perfect for a late after-work happy hour or a casual dinner out. Can't wait to go back for those tots.

Solid 4.5 stars.Great atmosphere. Service was excellent. Menu recommendations and plenty of refills.Food was excellent. Great variety and very well executed dishes. I loved the Rockfish tacos. The fries were great. We'll definitely be back! Check them out.

Three words: Salmon Reuben sandwich. Absolutely innovative, and so delicious. Toast is a cozy pub vibe with banquettes and bench seats. And of course their tasty side of sweet potato tots are not to be missed. Service was friendly and relaxed at a mellow pace. Not too slow, but definitely not a place you wanna go if you have to to be in and out quickly. I hope the salmon reuben stays for a while because I will definitely be back for that. Parking pretty easy with decent lot out front. There's a back lot too if the strip mall is packed. I think there was only one step up from the curb for those with mobility concerns.

Ive eaten here few times and always had great meal. No so much the case last week. I ordered a cucumber salad and added Salmon and it had no taste what so ever. The tomatoes and cucumber tasted like it was once frozen and the defrosted. Even added salt and pepper didn't change the blandness. Our waitress was nice and accommodating but was covering too much of the restaurant. The best thing were the apps.

Absolutely great food no junkie margaritas with premix super sweet stuff... clean drinks and tasty bites to eat

I've been to two locations of Toast and both were great! My favorite dish is the thai wrap with chicken and the brussel sprouts on the side. The brussel sprouts are salty but delicious! My husband got the she crab soup and the pesto chicken ciabatta sandwich and he enjoyed both a lot. The place has a very relaxed but also elevated atmosphere which is really nice. Our servers have all been kind and quick to get our food out to us. I even ordered for pick up once and the service was fast and everything was ready when I arrived. I'll definitely be back soon!

This is my first time at this restaurant and everything was 10 out of 10 from the service to the ambiance. We had the shrimp and crab nachos, which aren't pictured, but they were very good. We also had the Nashville chicken sandwich and the drunken chicken tacos. Everything was very flavorful and good 10 out of 10.

Left our nail appointment next door at 12:55 pm on a Friday and there was a wait for a table but plenty of seating at the bar. Our bartender was friendly and attentive plus the happy hour is 11 AM to 7 PM. I ordered the shrimp and crab nachos. *chefs kiss* my husband got the Nashville chicken sandwich. He got the margarita and I got the cosmo from the happy hour drinks menu ($6/each) they were tasty and decently sized too! My shrimp nachos were so delicious. They came with option to add guacamole but I was to chicken to try it because I was worried about how it would change the shrimp/crab flavor. It was massive and they do not skimp on the amount of meat! The chicken sandwich was also a large portion and was so tasty! I'm not sure what their secret sauce is but it was sweet and savory. It was a bit darker inside for the middle of the day but overall a great atmosphere. Our bartender joked around with us and was super personable.

--Gluten Free Spotted Cow CAKE- was ok decent good. Didn't taste like normal caked, icing was butter cream but had a cream cheese flavor. --CRAB & SHRIMP NACOS - delicious --LOADED FRIES- fries looked like oil need to be changed. Sent it back. Was told every 2 days they change the oil. They brought out a new bowl but they looked the same as the first bowl we sent back and she also brought out a side of fries that were freshly made and the newly cooked fries looked lighter and better then the 1st and 2nd loaded fries appetizer bowls. The freshly side of fries that they made and brought out did not look so dark like the first that were brought out that we sent back and the 2nd bowl fries app they remade and brought out. Guess 3rd time was the charm. --Rockfish tacos-good (could add more pickle onions) but was good.--Dragon Breath Shrimp Tacos - SUPER FIREY SPICY HOT!--CUBAN RUBEN SANDWICH- OUTSTANDING & Delicious Jillian P was our waitress. She was amazing. Fantastic service. Resturant is very cool vibe. I'd definitely come back when we are in the Richmond area wanting food. Wish they had one location in Fredericksburg Central Park. That's closer to where we are, had to drive over an hour to get to this area for an appointment for something and got hungry and found this place. Interior design inside this spot is awesome. Very good music tunes jamming off the speakers. Lighting was very chill dim bright vibe. Flat screens at the bar. Bathrooms were clean. In men's room 1 urinal, and one stall. If u had to do your business in a stall and someone's in there gotta hold it. Hahaha. But anyways like I said this place is awesome. Heard they are opening a few more spots around this Richmond surrounding area. Would be cool if they built some in Fredericksburg Central Park and northern VA areas.

I ran a 5k nearby and headed straight to Toast for brunch. Are a hearty meal and accompanied with a rare bourbon (decadent for 11 am). Service was fantastic and the selection of food and drink is outstanding! I love sitting at the bar and watching sports there for the ambiance! I highly recommend Toast!!
