I asked for a dirty chai latte. I'm not sure if it was because the chai was too intense or the oat milk was too strong, but something didn't taste right to me. The service and vibes were great. Highly recommend if you want a place to study or do some work. There is street parking, but you might need to park at a garage one block from the cafe.

Just okay! Parking is right on Granby so be prepared to parallel park and potentially have to pay the meter! We came on a Sunday and parked in a 30 minute loading zone to quickly stop in for some coffee beans and coffees The people working were extremely nice and very welcoming! We were choosing some coffee beans as a gift and they were able to explain what types of beans they use in store. We got a 10% discount for 'older' beans which is nice to know that their stock is continuously rotating and they keep track of that kind of stuff. I got a cold brew + milk and sweetener. Unfortunately, this missed the mark for me. The cold brew was sour and acidic, perhaps it wasn't extracted long enough or the coffee was too coarse when soaking. Not a coffee expert but just my two cents! I would recommend their lattes which are a lot better and the flavors better balance each other outI also got an iced matcha latte and was happy that they are one of the few places that use quality matcha and a matcha whisk. I do like my lattes on the sweeter side so I will request a flavor or something next time. Overall, I would still recommend Three Ships but with the warning that this is not Starbucks or Dunkin, their coffee speaks for itself and the additional stuff will come... additionally.

Beautiful location on Granby St. for a modern coffee house! I love the artwork inside. It reminded me of Loki and Miss Time. lol. I made it in time to try their holiday menu before they ended it. So I got to try their gingerbread latte and egg nog latte. The egg nog is pre-maid with milk so if you have dairy-intolerance, then don't get it (like me). But I did order that for my brother who really enjoyed it! I liked my gingerbread latte but felt like I didn't get much hints of gingerbread. I think what really sticks out to me is that they make their treats from scratch and they are ones that we know we'll like pop-tarts and an oatmeal cookie sandwich! I love the way they present their iced lattes. From their brand's label to the vintage black and white straw... it's a vibe. My daughter got a chocolate chip cookie. It was huge and tasty. She enjoyed it so much that I didn't even get to try it.They were busy when I went therefore, I waited about 10 minutes for our drinks. I wish the service was a little faster but what can you do when it's a busy day?! There is modern-like seating by the window. But not plentiful. Most seats were taken when I was there.I have been talking up this cafe to my family so I definitely recommend it to those who end up reading this review! Enjoy!

This is such a cool place in the heart of downtown Norfolk! They have merchandise for sale, including a pour over gadget. I got one of their Valentine's specials with Maraschino cherry cappuccino . It was really smooth. I also tried their oatmeal cream pie, and a vegan gluten-free muffin. The service was stellar. The barista took the time to answer my questions. I'll be back as they have so many options to try, especially their breakfast burrito.

I was hoping this would be a great experience but it wasn't. I ordered second in a group of 7 people and got my latte last. When I asked where it was, I got a flippant response. The lady making the drinks was rude and just kind of pushed my latte at me. My latte was lukewarm, which is weird because it had just been made. For a $5.25 latte I expect way more. The ham and cheese croissant was mediocre at best. The ham was still cold even though the sandwich was supposed to be warm. The sandwich was also $5. To end my time there I found a gnat in my latte. Now I am not sure if this gnat was present when I got it or flew in after I started drinking. Nevertheless it didn't help my impression of this place. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place. High priced mediocre coffee and food.

Overall a good experience!!This is apparently their third location and I like that it's situated where it is. In the heart of downtown Norfolk, so many other places to shop/eat/explore/etc. Good luck finding parking though....I had the Vanilla Latte and the Breakfast Burrito. Vanilla Latte was great, super light and flavorful. Not gonna lie, the breakfast burrito was just alright - it didn't taste bad at all but it definitely could've meshed all the ingredients together a bit better, and the small size of it threw me off. Not a bad meal but definitely could be worked upon more.Service was great! It was my first time there and they were understanding and helpful in my experience. There are only 1-2 workers at any given time, so please be patient with them.

The Wi-Fi worked well and the workers had nice personalities. The prices were a little high and they could use some plush seating.

I love the ships coffee. I was so excited when they opened their location in downtown Norfolk. This location has plenty of seating options for someone looking to study. Not anything big for groups to sit and chat, but if it's empty you can't try. I ordered a golden milk latte for the health benefits of turmeric, and it was delicious. If you like third wave coffee, and are willing to keep an open mind this place is for you. Coffee beans are roasted in another location, but they are Asian owned, and their roasts are truly inspiring.

Stopped by when I was nearby. I looked for anything with tea and this popped up. I've been meaning to try their other locations and was surprised to find this newer shop. It's conveniently on the corner of E Freemason and Granby and is clean, open, and very relaxed. I walked in with a lull in the line so I chatted with the staff about tea options. I've been trying tea lattes and was interested in the houjicha, since I had no idea how to pronounce it. As a roasted tea, I was immediately interested and skeptical The staff were super awesome and encouraged me to try it, saying I could get something else if I didn't like it. This is the type of service that makes me confident in what they're selling. So I ordered the houjicha and knew I'd like it. And I did!! It's an amazing full nutty flavor with the barest hint of matcha, if you know the taste. I am in love with the drink and desperately looking to see if anyone near me offers it too. Great location, exceptional service, and very chill vibe is what I remember and will come back for!
