I'm very mixed about writing this review as the house was/is beautifully decorated and in such a great central location, but in comparing this to other B&Bs I have to be honest.First of all, there was an instruction card that came with the reservation however while it did indicate that there is a backdoor, it did not inform that this was the 'main' entrance. There is very limited parking and if you want to park across at the church on or the street, you are at risk of towing. They have no passes for parking in these locations. The beds are their own issue. If you are vertically challenged, you will have great difficulty getting into the main beds. We stayed in a 'suite' (I use this term laughingly as it was just two connecting rooms) that had another room with twin beds. While the main bed seemed to have a mattress from the last century, the twin beds were ancient. The "pillows" that they give you are quite literally flatter than a pancake they would serve you for breakfast. The suite we stayed in was in the front of the house and there is no insulation to cancel ANY of the traffic noises from outside. It was very very stuffy inside and I wasn't able to open a window. We asked for a step stool and were given one that wasn't even as high as a normal step on a staircase. It was still very difficult to get in to the bed.At no time while I was there did I see, hear or meet the host/hostess of the B&B. The only time we met any employee was in the morning during breakfast. These ladies were AMAZING. They almost made up for the lack of any other service or greeting in their friendliness. The breakfast was late the day I was there. There are signs everywhere stating that it would be served at 8:30 but it was closer to 9:30. I'm an early riser so this was a bit of an inconvenience. At least the coffee was available. They had eggs, fresh fruit, yogurt, toast, cereal etc. It was set up as a buffet style in a very stylish area of the serving area. The dining room table is gorgeous but there are no placemats to put your plates on, I felt very worried about scratching this gorgeous table. The non guest rooms were fit with comfy areas to just relax and chill after a day of being a tourist. The furniture may not have been the most comfortable, but given how cozy each area was this was easily forgiven. I really enjoyed that each room had a Christmas tree already set up.This is not very handicapped friendly as no matter which way you enter, there are very old steps. The front steps were especially bad.To sum up;Parking; FComfort; BRoom Comfort: C+Breakfast: ALocation: A-Price: C (for our experience it was really really pricey)

This was our first B & B as a family we have ever stayed at. We were a little nervous bringing our girls (9 and 11 years old) with us BUT the James Getty suite was ideal for us. We arrived after 11pm and complete instructions were given for entry into the home and our suite. When entering the home everything was so welcoming down to the complimentary sweet treats and drinks. We all rested very well for our busy days at the Amusement Parks. Each morning we were awoken to the smell of a home cooked breakfast. Our host was amazing as she not only cooked a delicious breakfast she was very knowledgeable about the home and surrounding events taking place within the area. We will for sure be returning in the future!

Room was very nice. Bed was comfy. Private bathroom was fine. Appreciated the parking, snacks, and coffee/tea/pop. Wi-Fi was appreciated, but a wee bit slow.Weekdays in May, and we basically had the house to ourselves. Breakfast both days was different, more than we could eat (think on the scale of a "Full Irish" in the U.K.), and delicious.Only reason for 4-stars is that it's a B&B, not the Ritz. However, they did everything right, and it was a great experience. I would totally repeat, and send family (that I liked) here.

Great place to stay for true Williamsburg experience. Right next to William and Mary College and walking distance to all the village action. A wonderful breakfast was prepared by A young lady named Fee. I would stay again because of location, ambiance and Miss Fee. If mattresses and pillows were updated would be a 5-star stay.

Look no further friends, this is the BEST in Williamsburg. I stayed for a spontaneous weekend getaway and let me tell ya...the food was scrumptious, the interior design was extremely comforting and the location is perfect walking distance from several restaurants and bars, William and Mary as well as Colonial Williamsburg. The Manor is what I would call "modern colonial chic" so you still get the old-school feel without the antique fragileness and dead people rotting in the basement stench. Next time I am in Williamsburg; I will most definitely be staying here again. Oh and shout out to Annita who helped me book my stay, she was so patient and enthusiastic about answering all of my a trillion and one questions which made me even more hyped up beyond my usual extreme caffeine adrenaline boost. P.S. If you're staying alone, don't worry, there are always extra ghostly friends roaming around the halls at night (KIDDING...or am I)?

Lovely home, great rooms, and SPECTACULAR food! I liked Williamsburg, but I LOVED The Williamsburg Manor. The location of this place is spectacular: just a quick walk over to the Colonial Williamsburg shopping/bar area, yet quiet enough to feel like you're getting away. The house is 'modern colonial' and very well cared for---making it feel comfortable yet modern. Their backyard patio is ADORABLE and if it were a tad bit warmer, I would have sat out there with a book and a glass of wine no problem. The rooms themselves are well apportioned, comfortable, and clean. Most seemed to have their own bathroom too. Downstairs there is every snack food imaginable for guests to take and there are fresh yummy muffins too. Speaking of food--their breakfast is AMAZING. The Hearty Porridge and Potato Pancakes were out of this world. Fresh and savory. I ate so much I could even eat lunch! The German Inn Keeper (who is not the owner---as another person mentioned, lives off-site) is ultra friendly and accommodating. She let us stick around to finish some work in their living area well after check out of 11am.Finally---the rates are incredibly reasonable and the rooms downstairs were perfect for reading (particularly the room with the fireplace) or browsing the web. Also of note---they have a 'honor system' bar where you can buy bottles of wine or beer. Lovely!!

The house is delightful. Decorated with a feel for its colonial roots and 1/2 a block from the College of William & Mary (established 1693). Walking distance to historic colonial Williamsburg towne center. The rooms are beautifully styled and comfortable. There are lots of common areas inside and out. The garden area is small but so lovely and offers lots of sitting space. I lucked out by finding a room available last minute, but I recommend planning ahead. They are usually booked up. There is a two room shared Jack and Jill bathroom that is good for families. One room has a queen bed and the other has two twin beds. They also have pet friendly options for dog travelers like me.

We stayed here recently when we were in town for a wedding. The bride's family had rented out the entire house for the wedding party, and we ended up staying in the Benjamin Powell House Red room. The rates for the room by itself are on par with similar B&Bs in the area, and we were a bit surprised at how reasonable the website-listed price was to rent out the entire place. Our room was quite nice; well decorated, a big and comfortable bed, and two windows. It had it's own bathroom, but it was quite a small bathroom (not at all unusual in Williamsburg). The common areas were beautiful, and with comfortable furniture. They have wireless internet, but they also have a little business-center setup with a computer and printer if you don't want to bring your laptop. I was a huge fan of the snack area, which had over a dozen jars of different types of candy (including those orange gummy slices, which might as well be crack as far as I'm concerned). Overall this was a really nice place to stay, and the location is outstanding, just a 5-10 minute walk to DoG street and Colonial Williamsburg itself. If we are going to do a B&B in Williamsburg again we will look here first.

Pros: - Breakfast was good and the chef and housekeeping were friendly.- Neighborhood was good to walk about.Cons:- The room I paid for and was promised wasn't available. No one called me to let me know that ahead of my stay giving me the privilege to change my plans if I so chose.- I was told there would be ample off-street parking...there is only room for 3 vehicles, and there are more than three guest rooms.- There needs to be signs on the doors so guests who are checking themselves in know without a doubt which room is theirs. Not one room had a sign or number...if there was a closet or utility room, one wouldn't be able to tell them apart. That said TWICE my door was knocked on when I was trying to sleep because people couldn't figure it out.- The cable service (for TV) did not work - no one there to manage it. The location of the plasma screen (no adjustable arm) didn't allow one to view the TV unless you were standing in a corner.- The bed mattress (poster bed) was three feet off the ground and there was no stool to climb in and out of it. Not what I expected. Also the mattress was hard. No good sleep there. Further, the 4-5 foot ceiling fan was literally just a few feet above you since the bed was so high.- The shrubs and plants around the property were so overgrown and needing some trimming that you almost always brushed up against them while walking the paths around the place.- It shouldn't be a chef or housekeeper's role to manage guest issues beyond their areas. I felt like there should have been a house manager in charge since the owners were planning to be away. This is the first time I've been to a B&B where the owners did not personally welcome me. The owners were absent the whole weekend. - The key system was in my opinion not very secure, meaning my security was at risk the way it was handled. Further, I didn't appreciate my name public like it was done. Very surprised to have to write a review like this with all the Covid-19 challenges businesses are facing. I would think businesses would be trying harder to impress new consumers at present.
