Such a pretty restaurant with prime location right on the water. Must be great when the outside bar and dining is open- it was too cold when we went. On a Saturday in November, there was no wait for lunch although there were a fair number of people there. Our waiter was excellent. We were seated right near the window with a view out onto the sound.I had the seafood chowder- just a cup, which was delicious and extremely filling. It has a thick creamy potato-type base, as well as chunks of fish. Nice homemade croutons, bacon & green onion topping. By the time my entree salad came, I was almost full. I had the beet and goat cheese salad which was delicious. I really appreciate the amount of goat cheese, which I find is often underrepresented in a so-called goat cheese salad. The beets were also quite good- they were delicious and not the canned variety, which is sometimes used in salads and are sub-par. My dining companion had the fish and chips, which he loved. In particular he liked that they were battered with cornmeal, so a little unusual/unique. They also had what I like to call "the good fries"- the crispy ones. It came with two of the goat cheese hush puppies with some sort of sweet butter- I tried these and would totally eat an entire basket of them next time- so good!! We were both very happy with our meals and would like to return for a dinner.

The venue featured a spacious outdoor area with seating that offered views of the bay. On the ground level, there was a lively outdoor bar with ample seating and a few games. We sat indoors on the upper level, which provided a cozy, elevated vantage point. The menu was diverse and offered a range of options, while the service was warm and accommodating. For appetizers, we selected the goat cheese and feta hush puppies ($10) and the yellowfin tuna tartare ($18). The hush puppies arrived with a side of honey butter and smoky pepper jelly. The hush puppies were perfectly fried and crispy. The hush puppies were filled with a creamy cheese blend that paired well with both the honey butter and pepper jelly. The tartare was a colorful mix of avocado, red onion, capers, radish, and herbs, all drizzled with a lemon Dijon vinaigrette. This dish was not only visually appealing but also light and flavorful, with the fresh ingredients complementing each other perfectly. For my entrée, I opted for the seafood cioppino ($40). This dish featured a generous assortment of shrimp, calamari, scallops, and monkfish in a rich tomato and fennel broth, enhanced with roasted red pepper, fennel, peas, and a basil pesto crostini. The fennel, while present, did not overpower the dish; instead, it blended well with the tomato-based broth. The seafood was exceptionally fresh, and the crostini, with its basil pesto, was a delightful touch. I would have liked an extra piece to soak up the broth! I also sampled the seared duck, served with basil ricotta dumplings and a blueberry gastrique. The dumplings were light and flavorful, but the duck was a bit fatty. Lastly, I tried the shrimp and grits, which came with local sausage in a sherry she-crab sauce. The sauce was well-made, though I found the sausage to be a bit too soft for my taste. Will I go back? Yes.

I will start with how we were a little early for our reservation and seated right away. Our server was friendly, kept drinks full and made jokes with us. We were all pleased with our service. The food is what I was disappointed with. the menu changed a lot since the last time I was here last year. It is more expensive and the fried pickles, burger and chicken sandwich are no longer available in the dining room. It seems they now serve food in a different part of the restaurant that is more casual. Maybe outside? Not quite sure. Other items are fully removed. Either way, the food we received was just ok. Drinks & Apps: the margaritas were enjoyed by both friends. I did not find a cocktail I wanted - they all had bitters! We tried the special ribs with peach bbq sauce appetizer, which was pretty good. The calamari was very good. Entrees:1. shrimp pasta dish: While the shrimp was good, the pasta and sauce was bland. Very little flavor to be honest. 2. Whole roasted fish: initially the fish was a bit fishy, but digging in further it was decent. Nothing special. 3. The New York strip: the steak had unrendered fat but otherwise good flavor. The potatoes were a bit greasy on the outside. It needs a veg to lighten up the dish. For dessert we ordered 2 cheesecake and the peach cobbler. It took a while to get dessert and I was very disappointed that the cobbler was cold. You expect cobbler to be warm. I will say the chai spiced ice cream was good. The cheesecake said served with fresh berries but instead came out with some kind of sauce which seemed to be raspberry. I'm not sure if I will be back for the dining room. High prices for food that wasn't that good.

Solid waterfront restaurant with one of the best sunset views I've ever seen. In previous years you could only order drinks outside on their patio by the water, but this year they've expanded the service to provide a limited menu for outdoor dining in case sitting up on the balcony of the restaurant isn't close enough of a view to the water, or if you want to let the kids run around while you enjoy your meal. Food options here are mostly hits, casual fare that's elevated pub-style food with a few higher end dishes available if you sit inside (or order it to-go and take it out back). They have probably one of the best fried chicken sandwiches I've ever had, their hush puppies are also stand outs. Service is friendly, but if you want to sit inside I'd definitely recommend making a reservation in advance. Live music happens outside which adds a nice ambiance to the view as well.

The restaurant itself is clean and well furnished. We had the Clam Frites which were delicious. As a main course we had the Fish Fry. The fries and hush puppies were good, however the fried flounder had an unpleasant taste. The Everything BLT was average and had good flavor. The Seafood Chowder had mostly broth and more bacon than seafood. Between the two people who had it there was only one piece of seafood. The cost came out to over $90. The staff were very nice and attentive.

We stopped in for lunch on a Tuesday. It was one of few places open. It was slow for us to be seated. Waiter was overly friendly. We ordered a variety of food: seafood chowder, chicken tenders, chicken sandwich and salads. The chowder was excellent although the bowl is barely larger than the cup so pretty pricey for what you get. Chicken tenders were good, not great. Salad was delicious. Loved the pickled onion on it. Waiter seemed overworked on tables. He was attentive as could be but when we were ready to tab out he was no where to be found. I might give it another try.

Our family (six people) ate at this restaurant on spring break in Duck. The dining room is beautiful, everything is clean, solid wood and a giant window gives you the impression that you are sitting on the sound. The waitstaff is pleasant and attentive. The disappointment came with the food. Our waitress told us this was a brand new menu so maybe some of the problem stemmed from that. The calamari appetizer was rubbery rings that had not been cooked long enough to get crispy, and the sauce was just dumped in the bowl with them so many were soggy from it (we did not finish the serving). I ordered the fish fry, which (for $28) came with two small fish portions, 2 hush puppies, and a little mound of broccoli salad. Because the hush puppies were dry and the fish was soggy from some liquid in the bowl, the broccoli was the unexpected star of the plate. My wife got the forty-something dollar steak frites, which she ordered medium. It came quite well done and covered with string potatoes that were also well done. The kids meals (chicken tenders) were nice and an appropriate size. Most of the table left feeling hungry. Hopefully, this is due to the new menu and they iron out the kinks. It is a lovely place to dine.

The food here is fabulous! I had the seafood cioppino was absolutely delicious! It wasn't very brothy, but more of a sauce and one of the best I've ever eaten. My husband really enjoyed his steak and potatoes. We will definitely return to this establishment and highly recommend it!

After spending years on the Outer Banks during the summers, we were pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. Packed at the door for getting a table but plenty of seating, including a spacious bar and outdoor patio. Their menu is wide and has a ton of eclectic dishes like a Mediterranean plate and swordfish BLT sandwich. Our waitress was very kind and accommodating especially with our screaming baby. The ambiance is festive and appropriately loud with plenty of great beers on tap. We ordered the Mediterranean plate that'll keep you full with freshly cut salad and baba ghanoush. They offered an array of special dishes including swordfish BLT (with a moist, absorbable bun) and a mushroom risotto. Apparently their menu consistently changes throughout the year, including off-season. My favorite part of this spot is the location, perched high enough to see directly across the Sound over to the mainland. A solid place to eat- try it out!

We visited while on vacation. The restaurant itself is very nice with a great views of the sunset if you're at dinner. Jack, our server, was attentive, friendly & accommodating to our needs and requests. We were sat by the door that the servers went in and out of which was a little annoying. A gust of wind would come in every time the door was opened. Not the best area to be seated. The hush puppies were the best while our entrees were so so. The salad dressing was watered down. 3 individuals ordered the same meal and all 3 came out widely different. Maybe it was an off night but not sure I'd go back.
