The River Restaurant & Lounge

We came here for a birthday party. We were allowed to reserve some tables and decorate a bit. That was very nice of the owners. We did bring in a few cupcakes for the birthday candles.The party was for about 50 people most over 30 years old.I love the spacious dance floor and the sound system. They played a great mixture of music that coveted all the age groups, including the must have lube dancing music. The DJ made sure we enjoyed ourselves and led a toast fir out birthday girl.The owner welcomed us, and the entire staff was very friendly.The food was good, most people in our party had wings.The adult beverages were yummy and substantial, so everyone was happy.The seating is comfortable, and the venue decor was thoughtfully done.The food service was good and the owner checked on our party several times during our event..Hubby and I are going back next weekend to dance and dine.Enjoyable location for 30 plus crowd.

I've visited this restaurant 3 times and it was amazing all 3 times! The buffet is always clean and orderly. The atmosphere is comfortable even though I've only had take out. The food though baaabbbyyy is EVERYTHING! It's always fresh and full of flavor. It's never dry like some buffets can be. I give them a 10 out of 10!

Go! Just go! The food is like sitting down at grandma's table after Sunday service. Great food! CLEAN! Atmosphere is very Club chic and the staff is so friendly and professional. Another plus--it's by Rivers Casino. Just go. Great food, service, atmosphere and fun.

The food was thoroughly cooked and well seasoned. Good portion of food. The atmosphere of the restaurant was good especially for a live band to play music. There were not many servers at the time I visited, but our waitress was great.

The most favorable development to occur in Portsmouth in quite some time. A positive ambiance.

SERVICE: it took sometime for anyone to notice we were waiting to be seated then we were told we had to wait for the hostess by a waiter, and security (10 mins) FOOD: when the food arrived to the table it was cold easy fix, still good Ambiance: very appealing relaxed atmosphere BUT THERE ARR CAMERAS IN THE LADIES RESTROOM!!!!

Customer service was great! Waitress was very attentive. The chicken was outstanding!!!! Ambiance was nice as well.

I visited this restaurant today wow was I very disappointed. First all you have to pay for your meal first, we had to find seating, the service was very bad we had to stop someone whom we assumed worked there to ask for water, after noticing that there was no more food coming out we ask about that and was told they ran out of food so we stayed about 45mins to no avail so I will not be returning to this restaurant.
