The Pelican Marina

We rented 2 kayaks for four hours and had a great time. The location of the marina is perfect- far enough from the ocean, so the water is calm and good for kayaking, and it is close to the downtown area, which is a wonderful view. If you turn the corner and go under the drawbridge, you are in a nice natural, green setting. The staff was welcoming, funny and helpful! Overall, we had a great experience and bought t-shirts, which were 100% worth it. Also, we brought disposable cameras with us kayaking and I would highly recommend it!

Worst Marina I have ever been in (and I used to sail in the developing world). The Owner, Niels is a blowhard and a smart aleck. He has no customer service whatsoever. And they do not own all of the slips at their marina, so, if they are full, they will put you in one owned by someone else then try and move you to one they own later, even if it is inappropriate for your vessel. The first time we took our boat out this guy comes rushing down the dock trying to tell us we had to move (even though we paid for that slip and had been in it 4 hours earlier) and he waits till we are trying to tie up (and he or none of his staff help us, its other boat owners who come and catch a line for us, he just runs his mouth) in a 15 mph wind, to tell us to move. We would never go here again and are telling all our cruising friends to steer clear. BAD NEW OWNERS !!!
