The Oyster Farm Seafood Eatery

The restaurant has beautiful views and decent service but clearly is missing something. This is a large restaurant, but with a smaller outdoor dining area. The interesting thing was that no one was there for lunch. The place reeked from whatever they use to clean the place. Overpowering. So bad that it was in the ice in the bar. We sat outside and whenever they opened the door you could smell it. This is a borderline health issue. The service was attentive but really inexperienced. They did their best. The food was good. No complaints there. This place should be a gold mine for the owners, but they apparently are not interested. Umbrellas were laying around outside and the staff seemed woefully inexperienced. Needs a real restaurant manager in the worst way. I'm giving it 3 stars. The views bump it up from 2.

This is a nice restaurant with a great view of the Chesapeake bay. The restaurant is clean and a great spot for a date. The service was friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The food was okay. The oysters Rockefeller had good flavor, but everything else our party had was relatively underwhelming. I had the grouper sandwich and it was about as plain as you can possibly get. It was overpriced for average food.

This place is amazing, from their service to their food! My friends and I had the Calamari, which was deliciously soft and crunchy on the outside. The Oysters were fresh and yummy! We thoroughly enjoyed our main courses; the green goddess with crab cake, lobster poboy, and the clams! Added that all orders are shareable. Plus, the view is fantastic, so we chose to sit outside. We truly enjoyed our experience.

The food was great. Service was appropriate for the how busy they were.Very elegant ambiance but no dress code (excluding shoes and shirt required.)

We made a large reservation following a family funeral and the restaurant wonderfully accommodated our large party. Our server was fantastic. I ordered the She Crab soup and the wedge salad. The soup came out nice and hot and was more of a chowder. It was delicious. The wedge salad was huge!

We really loved this experience! The service was very friendly! The food was delicious too; you could taste the fresh seafood and ingredients. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and if I had to pick any critique it would be that the place was freezing! LOL take a sweater and your evening will be complete perfection!

We made a last minute decision to visit Cape Charles for the day. Upon recommendation, we called ahead to get a table for four for lunch.It was a beautiful warm day (crazy for November) but the sign on the door indicated they weren't offering outdoor seating. Service was good and the food was quick! The pretzels and beer cheese was tremendous. Three pretzels came out super warm and fresh - we thought they were good enough to eat on there own but the cheese was soo soo good.For lunch, we ordered nashvillle chicken sandwich, the Cesar chicken wrap, a cheeseburger and the wagyu beef nachos. Tasty fries! The menu isn't too long, but good variety for those who don't eat seafood. We enjoyed it all! No room for dessert- although menu looked good.Next we want to try dinner!

Great view, great service, great food! Our waitress was very friendly and made great recommendations. We stopped in for lunch and had Thai shrimp, ahi tuna, raw/steamed oysters, and tacos. All the food was phenomenal. The Thai shrimp appetizer was so good we had to order another one! The tacos were a crowd pleaser. The only thing I would skip on is the tuna appetizer because it didn't have much flavor to it. Overall the food was delicious and we will be back!

We recently spent a long weekend in Cape Charles with friends and when at the beach, seafood is a must. There were 6 of us, and I looked online to find information about making a reservation but I didn't see anything, so we just showed up for an early dinner. Lucky for us, there were six seats available at the bar in the corner, so we could all chat while we ate. The bartender was quick to greet us, and after a review of the wine list, we picked a couple of wines to share. They have a decent wine list, which includes some local wines. Love that! For dinner, I opted to try a couple of appetizers...Thai-style shrimp and seared ahi tuna. My husband had the shrimp scampi pasta and the she crab soup, which he shared with me. Our friends got the wedge salad with chicken added, fried oyster plate, which was huge, clam chowder and the mixed green salad, which was also large. For me, the Thai-style shrimp were good...loved the veggies but it had so much sauce, which was sweet, that it became overwhelming. I couldn't eat the whole thing. The seared ahi tuna was good, just what I expected. The winner of the night was the fried oysters and fries. The French fries were awesome! And there were so many oysters so sharing was required to make a dent in the plate. I'm looking forward to my next trip so I can try so other dishes. Next time, I'll make a reservation.

Hard to get a reservation at our requested time. Upon arrival at the 'offered' time the restaurant was nearly empty. Orders placed and all but one can out together- one was not placed at all. Ordered Crab Dip as an app, which was two tablespoons of cream cheese and cost $25. Over the years the quality AND quantity of food has gone down hill. Once our favorite place when we visit will now be passed over for other options in town.
