I read all the bad reviews and I can see why people would be upset waiting and having to deal with the rude fat lady at the counter (with a nose ring stud). I had to go at 11am in early May, so my wait wasn't that bad. I was getting a little frustrated with the rude women though. She cared more about drinking her coffee and having a conversation with the other woman then helping me and getting her work done. She was also rude on the phone, the reservation part of the website was down. I would of given this place 5 stars if it wasn't for that women. The NP saw me right away and they were very nice and professional. I really liked them.Advice to the business, your counter person is everything. It is a customer service business.

My lung collapsed while I was vacationing in the Outer Banks. I went to this facility after experiencing severe chest pain. Due to the severity of the symptoms, I was seen immediately by their Doctor. My blood pressure at the time was 153/102 (which is Stage 2 Hypertension). Despite noting that I could hear a popping noise when breathing in and out, the Doctor never thought to perform a chest x-ray. A few days later after returning to Phoenix (where I live) I was admitted to the hospital because my lung was 70% collapsed. This facility missed big time as the plane ride home should have killed me. After complaining to the facility about this case, they claimed "the care was appropriate based on presentation and symptoms." The standard of care fell below any acceptable threshold and I would avoid visiting this facility at all costs.

This place is heartless and the nurse we had to deal with could care less about people. We called about 10 mins before they closed informing them we were just down the road, my fiance had a bad blister that JUST showed up and our wedding is two days away. We wanted a prescription to take care of it so we could stop it from getting worse. She told us as long as she was in the door by 7:30 it should not be a problem. I flew down the road pulled up at 7:29 (that's the time my cell phone showed) the nurse we talked to on the phone was locking the door...when my fiance said that we were the ones that called the lady said it was too late. My fiance said, but you said 7:30...its 7:30?.. The lady responded by saying she had to be IN THE DOOR by 7:30, which it was...How can we get in the lobby at 7:30 if you lock the door at 7:29??? I begged her to let us be seen, we were 100% there in time, but even if somehow we were not, it was the difference of maybe 10-15 seconds. She could care less and told me over and over again how she could do nothing. Really? Really she just didnt want to do anything nice and showed how heartless she was. I understand we are not talking about any major or even minor medical issue, but honestly it would've aken the doctor 1 min to see her and write a perscription. I asked her if she could at least just ask the doctor if she or he would be ok with seeing us even tho we were ON TIME. I have never gotten so mad or been so disappointed by someone in a profession of caring for others. This place should be called urgent- Dont Care. 10 secs is what this place said made it impossible for my fiance to be seen for an issue that would probably ruin her wedding, our pictures for her and our video.I could understand if we were 10 or even 3 mins late. But as she walks to the door and you know we are on the way and you know she is about to get married and you still lock the door... that makes you a TERRIBLE HEARTLESS HUMAN. I would suggest going to any of the other urgent cares that care more about people and less about getting there lazy ass home to sit and watch TV. I hope that lady is reading this. You to me are SCUM, you will forever be remembered as a terrible human with an ugly dark small heart. Thanks for making us spend hours at the emergency room when we have plenty left to do for our wedding and costing us a lot more money because you know weddings are the best time to be forced to spend more money because of a heartless lazy careless person. DONT GO HERE.

We had to take our daughter to urgent care on our last day of vacation because of swimmers ear. She was miserable. I was fully prepared to wait at least an hour. We got there, and there were only 2 ahead of us! They took her back quickly, examined her ear and sure enough it was red and inflamed. The PA prescribed antibiotic ear drops to Walgreens across the street. We were in and out within 30 minutes! The only drawback is the ear drops were super expensive, and I didn't think to ask for an alternative. Happy to have the rest of the afternoon to enjoy our last day!

I took my kid here with a seriously upset stomach. Not what we had planned for the end of our vacation. This urgent care is owned by the local hospital. It seems like we are all ending up in urgent care instead of at a doctors office--but I was not expecting to need one on vacation. Guess no one does. It's easy to find-- right on the way to/from the OBX bridge that hits the Southern Shores on Rt 158. It is in the Market Place shopping center NEAR the CVS. We filled out a simple 1 page form and turned over our insurance card. We waited about 20 minutes to go back and then a few minutes more for an RN and then about 15 minutes for the RN-PA. She was very thorough. Maybe too much but when it's your kid you want to know they are doing lots of stuff. They spend a bunch of time making up a hospital style ID band, which is completely unnecessary. People must come in with serious things but there has to be some way to differentiate between those and a kid who needs something stronger than over the counter pepto-- when they need to transfer him to the actual hospital they can band him like a bear. All in all it was fine and I think he got good medical care. I hope we never go back but I would not hesitate to go again.

Everyone is very nice but this place has no capability to do an ultrasound or figure out issues beyond a simple blood test/urine sample. NP on duty but no MD. Not sure why I thought this place could help us.

I had a pretty good experience at the Outer Banks Hospital Urgent Care.We called ahead to see what the procedures were with COVID 19 and their hours etc.We arrived, checked in (inside, which was a little weird) and after we checked in (inside) we were instructed to go back to our car and call for a COVID 19 test.Again a little weird.Once we called, answered a few questions, we waited about 10 mins for them to type up the order, insert insurance etc. We got swabbed and we were gone in minutes.Total time from entering the door to leaving was about 35 mins. Not too bad.I saw some comments about rude staff. I did not experience that, but it is the off season.

Took nearly 2 hours for my child with a fever to be seen. PA A.R. Conrad prescribed my 9 year old an adult medication! The amount that she told me to administer to him could have killed him. Right on the bottle that PA CONRAD prescribed, it said "Not for children under the age of 12." There's a reason she's not a doctor.
