The Landing Zone

I ordered 3 shrimp tacos and a medium-sized margarita that came in a large mason jar. Food was very flavorful, and the margarita was nice and strong. I was completely full with just two tacos. I winded bringing one taco home and the server place the remaining margarita in a styrofoam cup to go. Everything was plentiful even the chips and salsa.The service was great, she knew both Spanish and English. Always smiled with every point of contact. I definitely recommended this restaurant. I've been wanting to cross this off my dining bucket list since I moved down to VA Beach. I will be coming back if I'm around the Mt. Trashmore area. Oh, and I forgot to mention! They had a DJ. I didn't get to stay since we were already heading out. I wanted to go home and go to bed lol

Cute place! Came in while the kids enjoyed the carnival at Mt Trashmore. The service was on point and the cocktails were tasty. I had the steak fajita salad it was good not much flavor but I tore it up. My husbae had a salad and tacos and said both were good.We dined outdoors and the vibe outside is so relaxing but you have some folks that are happy to be outside therefore the conversation can elevate but it's no biggie.Check them out!Have fun and enjoy life:)

Unfortunately, I had the worst mexican food of all the restaurants I've been to.. the white sauce was straight mayo, the tostada was terrible, even the salsa was bad.. the only saving grace were the prices..

My first time here. I was in the area and had some time before my appointment, so we stopped at The LZ. It has a great bar vibe, lots of LE and Military paraphernalia which, being a military family we can appreciate. Angelina helped us at the bar, she was SO friendly and helpful, she gave us great tips on what to order. They have sports on the tvs around the bar, which was fun. We ordered the Seared Tuna Bites with our beers, they were delicious! I ordered the Chicken Tacos and my Husband had the Pernil Al Horno, both of which were fabulous and flavorful! They have the BEST salsa. We want to come back with friends, it's a great spot to chill and have good food with good people. A new favorite bar for us :-D

This was my second time at this place. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the server. He was friendly and knew their products really well. We were looking to try the wings; however, when we got there everything on the menu looked really good. Ordered the wings with the flavors recommended by the server, he was absolutely right and were on point.The atmosphere of this place was really nice, we had a great time!

We have been here before and the food and service were great. The place changed their name and is under new management. I think it's even better than before. Now serving a main menu of Mexican. My wife says it's now her favorite Mexican restaurant.

The Landing Zone is located along Independence Blvd., not too far from Mount Trashmore. If you are approaching the place heading northbound, you will have to make a U-turn to get there. The entrance can come up quickly, so make sure to pay attention to it, otherwise it can be easily missed. Getting out can also be a bit crazy if you try to get out right onto Independence Blvd. Be sure to take the back way out. It's so much easier. My visit here was on May 30, 2019.What brought me to try this place out was a coupon I received by email. The coupon was for a buy one entree get one half off. It was the last day for the coupon, so wanted to take advantage of it. We got here early, but since they had an event going on, they were open earlier, so we were able to go right in. The bartender said we could go to any table and that she would be back shortly. Right on cue, she came back over and took our drink orders as we looked over the menu. A few minutes later, she came back over and we were ready to order.I ended up going with the LZ Hamburger, but added cheese and bacon to it as well. My mom went with the Shrimp Quesadilla. After about 5-10 minutes, she came back over with our food and it was time to eat. The LZ Burger was really good. It was juicy and cooked the way I preferred. I did ask to swap out the tomato since the first one wasn't that red. The second one was better. My mom said the shrimp quesadilla was really good too, so there were no issues with the food on this visit. She did come by and check on us a few times, which is a plus as well.Overall, food and service here were great. The coupon was applied to our order and the cost was about what I expected. With great food and service, this was a great place to try out. The hardest part is getting in and out of here with it being on Independence. I definitely recommend trying this place out.

I always passed this place on my way to mount transhmore. Read the reviews and it appeared that they stepped up their game over the years. Party of 4, got there around 3:30p (they open at 3), so it appeared as if we were the first customers since the place was empty. They had one server who was very attentive. Food came out quick, the asada was salty for my taste, everything else was good. The deserts is whats gonna make me come back, loved the bread pudding. Not bad for a bar.

Went here with some friends on a Friday evening. I've passed the restaurant a number of times on Independence Blvd. because it's across from Mt. Trashmore, and I've always been interested to check it out. I'm so glad I tried it! It's laid back, which I liked. Our server seated us at a high-top table in the bar area, which I liked. He was very nice and didn't hover, which I appreciated. It's not very big inside, although there is outdoor seating. It definitely has a good vibe.We had their sangria, and it was quite good. We also had their burger, and it was delicious. The bun was crisp and not soggy, and I like that they put the various toppings on the side (lettuce, red onion, and tomato). I got mine with cheddar cheese. The burger was cooked the way I like it (medium), and the fries were also very good--crispy, with a little bit of salt, but not too much. I will definitely be back!

Amazing margaritas, enchiladas, wings, and taquitos. This is a local favorite. Tony makes the best Mexican candy shots!
