I cannot say enough good things about this wonderful Bed&Breakfast! Seriously, the innkeepers have thought of everything to make your stay here memorable, and relaxing. From fresh flowers all over the inn to baskets of snacks and provisions to make s'mores, to every coffee pod and tea you can imagine, a fridge full of sodas and bottles of wine, pool towels, comfy robes...I could go on. We stayed in the Bayside Suite which is a fabulous little "apartment" in a separate private building with views of the bay and very close walking distance to the pool and gardens. The room was very dreamy and relaxing with a small kitchenette which we didn't use except for the fridge. It had its own thermostat which we kept a very cool 72 on the extremely hot days we were there, it has an amazing jacuzzi tub, double head shower, big king sized bed, vaulted tongue and groove wood stained ceilings, a fire and ice fireplace which we had on just for ambience, an air cleaner, big picture window that overlooked your own private firepit area and the bay. The property itself was also amazing with beautiful potted plants everywhere, a lovely garden that separated the pool from the other cottage rooms, kayaks available for use, a canoe, a shed they named the crab shack that housed fishing poles for guest use and crab traps, along with life jackets. They had bikes for guest use with helmets, they provided backpacks if you wished for a day of biking to hold water. The property also had a bocce court, corn hole and horse shoe pits. There were Adirondack chairs everywhere to relax and enjoy the amazing views while you drank fresh water, wine or fresh brewed coffee. The dock also has two Adirondack chairs to watch the amazing sunsets. And the inground pool is wonderful, so clean and refreshing with a spacious concrete deck that has many lounge chairs and little bistro tables and chairs to read and relax in. There is a library in the inn which has a large assortment of books and games as well as a gas fireplace and tv for guests to use (we had a TV in our room as well but never turned it on). The innkeepers really want your stay to be enjoyable and ask if there's any info you need or anything they can do to make your stay better. Oh, and the breakfasts are incredible! They will also accommodate you if there's something you are allergic to or just don't like. There's a covered porch that we sat on the one evening it rained and just enjoyed the sound of the rain while enjoying the views of the bay. We will definitely be back to this truly wonderful Inn. It was without a doubt the best B&B we've stayed at.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for V-Day 2020 and this place was wonderful. Our hosts (Lori and her brother Dave) were great, the room was wonderful, and the view was spectacular. Our room had a jacuzzi tub, small kitchen area, free Netflix (FREE NETFLIX!!!), WiFi, and a view of the lake. If you forget any toiletries, (lotion, soap), they'll have it there for you. They have a double headed shower with easy access, for those with accessibility issues. We checked out on 15Feb2020, and Lori left us a plate of breakfast. Didn't feel a rush checking in or out and felt like we had a home away from home. The entire experience was wonderful and we will definitely be back.

My husband and I, avid B&B-ers, spent two nights at the Inn for a birthday weekend trip and we are so glad we did. Not only are the lovely people who help run the Inn the epitome of gracious hosts, they are also legitimately interested in getting to know their guests. It is so evident that they enjoy what they do! The Inn itself is beautiful! We didn't even book a suite, but were so impressed with our room (and the comphy brand sheets really are worth all the hype!!!). There are so many activities on the property itself that there is no way we could have been bored even if we stayed a week! Between the bocce court, and other yard games, the pool, and the access to bikes and a canoe, there was always something to do!And the breakfasts were so delicious - there's just something about those fresh blueberry pancakes with homemade blueberry syrup! Yum! We were so impressed with the lovely weekend we had at the Inn at Tabbs Creek and we will definitely be back to explore more!

A fantastic 4 day stay over the 4th of July was the perfect getaway from the traffic, crowds, and hurried pace of Northern Virginia to the friendly, serene and peaceful life in Mathews County. This is the smallest county in Virginia and boasts NO stoplights! The Inn at Tabbs Creek is nestled at the end of a tree-lined drive and has beautiful accommodations. The 1880's farmhouse abuts up against a lovely little protected waterway just off of the Chesapeake Bay, and provides an ideal tranquil setting to forget about the rest of the world for your entire stay if you wish. Hosts Greg and Lori Dusenberry are delightful and Greg's culinary skills are masterful, while Lori's supreme horticultural skills provide picturesque gardens around the Inn. Greg will say he's only a 'cook', but his meals would match any big city restaurant touting the finest 'chef' in the region. The design and layout of the Inn is warm and social, but affords plenty of privacy if you prefer.Rooms are spacious and modern, even though the Homestead dates back to just after the Civil War.The entire experience was top notch and a definite map pin for us in any future long weekend thoughts ... thank you Greg & Lori for an incredible time!

It looks like other reviewer covered about how we found the Inn so, we just will add that we too enjoyed our stay mostly due to the comfort that surrounded us and the welcome from the owners. It rained the entire time during our visit but we still had a relaxing trip. Thanks for the wonderful breakfasts and conversation. We hope to return when the weather is a bit more welcoming.

We LOVED our weeklong stay at the Inn. The owners Lori & Greg were incredibly nice and accommodating. We had a private elopement ceremony on the dock at sunset. They helped us find the officiant, handled the cake & flowers, took our photos! They took all the work out of it so we could just spend time together - which is all we wanted. We spent the week enjoying the Adirondack chairs on the dock and around the property. We loved the propane firepit on our private little area behind our room. It was clean, large and lovely. They were sprucing up the gardens for the beginning of spring during our visit. I cannot tell you how much we enjoyed the breakfasts! Greg is an amazing chef! They have a fabulous coffee bar in the main house for everyone, which we enjoyed so much. It's so quiet and peaceful and we able to unplug all week, snooze outside in the Adirondacks, listen to the water lap at the dock, and feel rested when we returned to the real world. We were greeted with wine and a cheese board! They offered smore's fixin's and coffee all day! How can you not love this place? If you're even thinking about this place --- GO! We're getting ready to book another trip there this fall. The town is super small, but it had some cute artsy places. The Richard's Cafe (diner) in town is amazing, so cute and 50's! The Seafood shack & Salty Dog Pizzeria was really good too! There's a grocery store to grab snacks.

We LOVED our stay. The people were so nice and accommodating. The experience was so peaceful and relaxing. We really loved the pool, going kayaking which was all included with our stay, and just sitting on the screened back porch watching the beautiful scenery. The breakfast was delicious. They also had snacks available which was also included in the price. Our suite was clean and well stocked. We enjoyed it so much that we plan to come back.

Spent two nights for a birthday/Valentines get away, and it won't be our last trip there! The owners, Greg and Lori Dusenberry along with their staff, make sure that every guest has an unforgettable stay.Breakfast alone is worth the price of the room! If you're expecting the usual B&B boring breakfast, get ready for a surprise. Every day is different, and delicious. From Overnight Yeasted Belgian Waffles to farm fresh scrambled eggs with pink pepper, local sausage and fresh fruit plus their own Tabbs Creek Blend coffee from Mobjack Bay Coffee Roasters (we took some home). And on Saturday afternoon Greg hosted a wine and cheese hour with large individual plates of fruit, cheese, and crackers along with an assortment of wines, giving us all a chance to mingle. There's fun shopping in and around Mathews, along with some incredible chefs and restaurants that offer food on a level you'd only expect to find in a much larger city. The local seafood is fantastic. The historic inn itself is so comfortable, from our room to the library with the overstuffed leather couches, Adirondack chairs out on the dock, screened porch, deck, and fire pit, there's always somewhere to kick back and relax. We came back completely rested and relaxed, and are already checking dates for this fall.

My boyfriend and I spent the weekend here at the Inn at Tabbs Creek this past weekend and we had the best experience! Lori, David and Greg are so hospitable and accommodating. They made us feel so welcome and provided us a comfortable stay. The breakfast was incredible! Each morning was something different and delicious.
