The Historic Powhatan Resort

Before arriving I was a little concerned because I saw a bunch of reviews stating that there were bed bugs. So the first thing I did of course was look for bed bugs and none were found. However I will mention that in the evening outside we were bitten up really bad by itty bitty mosquitoes and I have a feeling that the people that think that they were bitten by bed bugs were actually bitten by little mosquitoes because the bites didn't actually show up until the day after we were bitten and they look like the pics of the supposed bed bug bites.Such a beautiful property. There were a couple of issues with maintenance, the toilet was leaking and the shower head wasn't working but they showed up within 15 minutes to fix both issues. When we wanted to use the barbecue grills they told us to call them before we use them and they sent somebody to go clean them really well and brought us barbecue utensils to use. My only complaint is that there is a lot of creepy crawlers, spiders and roaches that seemed to be there when we showed up then disappeared and the morning we checked out as we were packing they decided that it would be safe to come back out. We let the office know that they should probably fumigate. We were in an accessible room and it was obvious that that room hadn't been used in a while, there was a lot of old cobwebs from the cabinetry to the floor in the kitchen the windows etc. oh and the geese are beautiful to watch and look at but be careful walking along the property because there is geese poop everywhere! Based off of the property location and surroundings, the geese and insects are just nature and out of the resort's control for the most part but just thought I'd mention. All the staff was really nice my family had a great time at the miniature golf course too as well as the indoor swimming pool.

Simply Amazing! Amazing price! Beautiful resort. Private, clean and serene. Staff was friendly and quick to offer assistance. I rented a two bedroom unit. The unit was spotless. I felt right at home. Resort offers a grill and coffee house on the grounds. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to try either, but there was always people on the front porch, enjoying their coffee. Always looked Very inviting. If you stay here, you are close to mini shops and other restaurants that are just minutes away. Also, colonial Williamsburg is about 5 miles away. I will definitely be back when I am in the area again.

We reserved a 4 bedroom and our 3 grand kids loved having their own space. Kids 4, 15 & 16. They loved the pool and mini golf. 4 year old liked the playground. Great location. Nice having a full kitchen and a washer/dryer in each unit.

It was okay. Accommodations were just okay, nothing that "wowed" me. Bathrooms are small and a little outdated. The ice maker didn't work so when we called for ice, they brought a bag of ice and just rang the doorbell and left it on the porch. I called the front desk twice and no one ever picked up, so that was annoying and I had to drive to the front to ask my question. The positive: The pool area is nice (especially for families) as it gives options with three different pools. A 3-4 foot pool for smaller kids, a family pool that goes 4-5 feet in depth and much larger and then another pool that is for 18 years and older, so definitely quieter for the adults. They had a very small jacuzzi near the family pool and they had towels, so you don't have to worry about bringing them. We did have an issue with the toilet, as it kept running. Maintenance came pretty promptly. Fixed the water constantly running but then the flap on the toilet remained up and had to manually be pushed down. Eh...small things in life...so that's why I'm just giving it an okay stay.

Great staycation! About 15 mins from historic Jamestown and an hr from Virginia Beach. Check-in was smooth, and we were given a 3 bedroom, 3 bathroom, 2 kitchen with a loft condo. The sofas become beds, so in total, I think we had 5 beds which was plenty of space. Spacious and quiet.Daily activities included mini golf, tennis courts, volleyball courts, indoor/outdoor pool w/ hot tub and saunas, racquetball courts, and you also can "check out" various board games and movies on DVDs from Activities Center for enjoyment, be sure to return it! They have various activities scheduled every day, we took a sushi class which was fun.Stay - 9/10Activities - 8/10Ambiance - 9/10

We have been Hilton owners for a few years and have recently branched out to their newer properties, the Legacy Diamond Resorts. The Historic Powhatan is conveniently located between Williamsburg, Yorktown & Jamestowne. Very easy drives. The pools are nice. There is no service at the pools, so bring your own picnic, drinking water & snacks. The staff were disappointing, hence the 3 stars instead of 5. One gentleman, who we assumed was a concierge, was wonderful. The greeter was rude twice and the desk staff seemed as though the hospitality industry was not his first choice of careers. The bartender at the restaurant was just crabby and snarky and there were only 2 couples in the whole place. Our room was lovely. We noticed a very slight ant issue when we first arrived that got quite bad by our last day. It was like the all told their buddy's that there was an opportunity in our room so come on over. It was concentrated around the living room couch and since we really were not in the room much we let it go. We did mention that they should fumigate before the next guests set up residence. We won't stay there again.

So I travel a lot and I'm always staying at random places so when I come across a place like this I'm usually all for it and here alone was totally worth it!Coming here I wasn't too sure what to expect but when I got here I was beyond blown away with how big this whole resort is a a whole as they have soo much land here you could get lost!So we ended up with this mellow little villa with a kitchen area living room two bedrooms and just a nice apartment for the most part making for an awesome overnight stay at a place that felt like home for the night.Our room was clean and quiet it was perfect like we couldn't have asked for more as everything we needed was right here!Overall super cool resort with an abundance of different villas making this for one of the best places I've stayed at this year who knows when or if I'll get back here again but if so it was totally worth it!

My review is a few months old but I need to get it out because I uploaded some pictures and I want to add some context! The grounds here are beautiful. Very spread out and very well kept. We came in early December and it was very warm out. Like we really lucked out on how warm it was. The villa we were staying in had three floors to it. Basically a master bedroom, kitchen, and vaulted ceiling living room or on the first floor, the second floor has a another bathroom with another bedroom and a loft, and the third floor is basically two twin beds up in the attic. There was air conditioning up there and the whole place to sell to very big. Best of all, they had a pretty good exercise room! I wanted to keep up my gains and I was able to utilize all of their equipment very well. So definitely five stars in my book! I'm not the pickiest but this definitely satisfied me and there was nothing sketchy at all. Thanks again!

Very clean & quiet. Centrally located in Williamsburg. Easy check in and checkout. Lots of fun and history nearby.

This resort offers an excellent experience for the disabled vacationer who is in need of wheelchair access in their condo and throughout the grounds.10/6/23 we stayed in 418 c/d in the lower condo. It was spacious with wider doors, roll in shower and large master suite. Kitchen counter was lowered at the sink, microwave on the counter. Throughout the property there were plenty of sidewalk ramps to enjoy the grounds with ease. The indoor pool was accessed around back of the activity center, it also included a lift for the pool. I'm not sure about the outdoor pool, we didn't swim there during our stay. The negatives:1. for an independent wheelchair user, the assigned parking didn't have a ramp at the curb to go from the parking space to the walkway. We pushed our guest who is unable to navigate independently. However, there is access ramp from the sidewalk to the condo door.When approaching the condo entry door, the door opens out which could pose a challenge. These are manual doors. **To be fair, I've never had an automatic entry door for a hotel room or rental home. This condo rental was the best away from home stay we've ever had. Our week stay was more enjoyable having accessible accommodations for our daughter.
