The Flying Pig

There was a time when the Smartmouth Pilot House had rotating food trucks instead of one permanent one and I'd walk over to play food truck roulette frequently. The Flying Pig was one of those spots that kept popping up.I was a big fan of the loaded ribbon fries. They were covered in toppings and so delicious. I'd eat it like a meal and always have leftovers that were still good even when they were a little soggy a few hours later. My friend tried their BBQ sandwich once and was disappointed so I didn't stray from the ribbon fries since they were a guaranteed hit for me every time.

Delicious chip-nachos abound at The Flying Pig Food Truck! They'll make your tongue slap the roof of your mouth so hard it'll blow your brains out. I wish I had four hands so I could give it four thumbs up

I really hate to give them a two star review but the food was really not good. The customer service was top notch! The lady who took my order was really nice. My tacos were soggy, wet and flavorless. Then the nachos looked good but they were soggy as well. It was lacking flavor and the meat seemed like canned meat. No one in my family enjoyed their food. So we ended up throwing almost $60 of food away. I didn't get picks because my phone was in my car!

I love me some brisket. No denying that. So when I attended a summer event at my child's school, saying that I was elated to see "The Flying Pig" food truck is an understatement. Heard all about it and was uber excited to taste.For around $20 (plus tip), I ordered two sodas (Coke brand), a basket of Naked Ribbon Fries and a plate of brisket, which included hush puppies and cornbread. Side note: Usually, the plate includes coleslaw, but I'm not a fan in general and asked them to hold it. Not sure if both hush puppies and cornbread are included as well. Not complaining - it was a pleasant surprise.After a bit - it was a busy lunchtime event - all the food was ready. To my delight, the portion sizes were generous. The Naked Ribbons Fries are essentially chips sprinkled with what I believe is an Old Bay seasoning. They were cooked to perfection. Exactly how homemade chips should be made. Not starchy. 100% crispy deliciousness with a kick. Hush puppies and cornbread were on point. And the brisket was tender deliciousness with tasty barbecue sauce.Wow, I'm craving "The Flying Pig" just thinking about it. Can't wait to pleasantly find this food truck again!!!

OMGOSH! This was the best pulled pork barbecue sandwich I have ever had in my entire life! I cannot even begin words cannot even describe how good this Sandwich was. I thought it had the perfect amount of chard smokehouse flavored the sauce and the coleslaw together were so delicious, the Texas Pete was almost unnecessary (i didn't want him to feel left out. LOL). It's a little irritating to see their score of three which is a complete misrepresentation of the food I ate tonight. As I read through the previous reviews most people were complaining because of the wait times. There is a wait because it's so damn good! Be fair rate them on their food. I will use them to cater my next backyard party.

The Flying Pig's response after I complained that they "forgot" my orders of Tacos and Loaded Fries. All they needed to do was tell me that they "messed up this evening and will do better in the future to earn my business".I do not need to know the inner workings of their dysfunctional business model. Hi John,While we appreciate your feedback, it wasn't as simple as your order being "forgotten". The ticket was lost in the process of my cashier giving it to the line cooks on duty. When we went to give you your refund, we discovered that you in fact had ordered either the Tacos OR the loaded fries, which also accounts for your refund being $14.40 ($12 order + a tip). We apologize for the miscommunication and your wasted time/energy. We were extremely busy tonight and it could've happened at any point in time.

I always get so excited to see the Flying Pig at events! I'm obsessed with the ribbon fry nachos and the bbq tacos. Their food is great and they always exceed my expectations. I know the food industry in general is stressed right now, and they've managed to get great food out in a reasonable amount of time. Highly recommend!

Simply put, AWESOME! David and Grace run a clean, professional, reasonably priced and best of all DELICIOUS operation! Their portions are HUGE, food is fresh, and cooked as good as you get at an expensive dine in BBQ restaurant.They were able to satisfy hundreds of rowdy bikers, so I can almost guarantee they can meet your expectations!

The food was okay. My husband enjoyed it. He is rather easy to please. The service was ok. It was just well, okay!

Wanted to put some food in the bellies of three guys plus me, while they were at the Commonwealth Brewery. I didn't even know what I was doing when I orders the large tray of chicken nachos.HOLEEEE COW! The most amazing! On ribbon fries .... not nacho chips. Pineapple and coleslaw and just amazing.The guys who "weren't hungry" ate every morsel and scraped the tray clean.We will be watching where the Flying Pig lands so we can order again.Thanks!
