The Deep

Great place and fantastic food. I ate here three times during three night stay in Hampton. Highlights:Chicken fried chicken- crispy crust and tender chicken perfectly seasoned. The gravy that came with this it was so good!!Lobster roll - tender chunks of lobster in a perfect roll. The fries came crispy and hot. Service - friendly, efficient, and attentive. I loved this place and will be back the next time I'm in Hampton.

The food was great! We had a chicken & waffle sammie, grilled tuna sammie, ceaser salad with fried chicken and then the absolute favorite was the short-rib French dip! We will definitely return!!

I'm usually nervous about trying new places, but The Deep did not disappoint! It was a lowkey, intimate spot, but you can't miss the colors walking by. I got the Crab & Artichoke dip, Tuna Melt (blackened/medium well) with hushpuppies & fries. The food was seasoned well and the temp on everything was perfect, very fresh. The hush puppies came with honey butter (amazing). I would've gotten dessert, but I was too full LOL. The service was very welcoming and personable as well! All around my experience was amazing and I would definitely recommend :)

Food and service was great. Kid friendly with plenty of southern dishes options. I got the chicken and waffles sandwich and my wife got the po boy. The kiddo got the grits and loved them.

Cute little spot downtown Hampton! I think it's in the location where the old ice cream parlor was; also used to be night time hangout called The Corner. Anyway, the food was AMAZING. I mean I talked about my experience for probably a week after we dined. We ordered the charcuterie board to start and when I say everything was paired PERFECTLY, OMG!! The pulled pork on the board would have been good as a meal. We both ordered the fresh fish, which was snapper. We got it fried and it did not disappoint at all. We love snapper and will try it anywhere they offer it, but this was different than what we're used to...it was actually filleted and battered and SO GOOD and very meaty. Seasoned to perfection, so fresh that it stayed hot until I was done and I'm a slow eater. Mashed potatoes were good too and fresh. The green beans were nice and crisp and fresh too. I mean I could go on and on. I hope it's the same next time, bc I'm definitely going back. Oh! And the service was average, not bad at all but not outstanding either. It was good enough and everything else made up for anything it was lacking. Last but not least I almost forgot I had the raspberry lemon drop and it was so good and hit me a little harder than expected. Can't say enough about The Deep. Somebody knows what they're doing.

I had the pleasure of dining at The Deep restaurant in Hampton last night with some friends. We are regulars at a few restaurants, but wanted to try something new and we are so happy that we did. I ordered the chicken fried chicken, which was flavored to perfection,, and was super juicy. The mashed potatoes that came with my meal were so flavorful that I did not need to add anything such as butter, gravy or salt that I normally use. One of my friends ordered the tuna melt, which was a large piece of seared tuna, sandwiched between a brioche bun with some type of cream-caper sauce. I was fortunate enough to get a bite of her sandwich. I must say that that is the best tuna I have ever had. It was super juicy and the caper sauce complemented it perfectly. I was not expecting the juiciness of the tuna because most of the seared tuna that I've had in restaurants up to this point has tended to be dry. Our other friend ordered the charcuterie board and was happy with her selection. Not only was our food delicious but Our server was friendly and helpful. We are definitely planning a return to this restaurant in the near future. Compliments to the chef!
