The Cottage Shop is a fairly large store consisting of tasteful home decor and gifts. Many items are beach themed but there is plenty of cool and cute stuff for (in)land lovers too. Here are the types of things you can expect to find at The Cottage Shop:- linens like tea towels, hook rugs and bedspreads- home decor like candles, artwork and Fiestaware- scarves, flip flops and jewelry- drinkware like Tervis, Yeti and decorative wine glasses- Christmas ornaments - stuffed animals and toys for little ones- greeting cardsYou can also expect a friendly staff!This is a great place to get a gift for someone else or yourself!

Nice upper scale shop. Mud Pie and the like brands. My review is low because customer service is everything. The man working was far more interested in chatting with the lady he was working with than speaking with me. First interaction he informed me my child couldn't use the restroom but in a condescending way let us know that we could use the bathroom at the market. The manner in which it came out his mouth was that we were second class citizens. Then I inquired about the price on the Adirondack chairs. I also asked if I purchased them in bulk if there was any discount offered. (These chairs are 349.00 each.) I asked if we bought 12 if there was a discount. Well I must have completely offended him because in the most ghastly tone was informed he had never heard of something like that. So much for southern charm. Likely I would have purchased them still but he literally continued his conversation with the lady he was talking to as soon as he finished his sentence with me. So I will take my 4,000 dollar sale else where.

Wow! I am amazed with this place! So cute! And they sell those little mermaid tail blankets! I fell in love! Really helpful staff!

Very cute shop in Nags Head next to the Fresh Market. Larger inside than it looks outside. Typical beachy shop, but not for cheesy souvenirs. I got some really cute mermaid decorations and funky greeting cards. This place is a refuge from Sunsations and Wings!

The Cottage Shop is a great beach store. By far my favorite place to shop when furnishing s beach house. Employees are super friendly and awesome to work with!Liz Lester

Where did all the previous 5-star reviews go?? I based going to this shop on the stellar reviews I read. And it did not disappoint! My mother and I went on a rainy beach day and spent over an hour in here and still did not see everything. As the other reviewer said, this place is not cheesy beach stuff...it is full of nice housewares, jewelry, kids stuff, etc that you'd want to give and receive. I spent a few hundred (unexpectedly!) but came out with a huge bag with a nice pillow for my daughter's bed, a cute printed beach coverup, Tidewater flip flops (so comfortable and $10!), jewelry gifts, cute beach signs for my home, a candle that looks like seaglass, a few kitchen towels, and so much more that I can't even remember. All I know is that next time, I am going to give myself enough time to shop (2 hours, maybe?)
