The Cookshak Fried Chicken

Strictly a take out spot but there are picnic tables outside. Ordered and paid at the window outside for a quick lunch. The chicken is seasoned perfectly with a little kick to it and the sauces (ranch and honey mustard) were delish! The Mac and cheese was really good too! We loved it. Def recommend to satisfy your fried chicken craving.

Very good chicken. Best in OBX. Always fresh if you order and then pick-up. Usually a 30 min wait. Side have gotten a bit expensive over the last couple of years. Still worth it. Although, ensure they fill the mac and cheese up to the top. Sometimes they short it a bit. And at that price, you want the max the container can hold.

Ordered and had it delivered to our rental. They told us 45 min but it ended up being 30 min. The chicken was delicious. Sooooo juicy and seasoned. YUM YUM YUM. The slaw and mac were also very good. We got the combo and it was only $25.99. That's a lot of food for a good price. There were 3 of us eating and we still had chicken left over!

We ordered a half a chicken and 10 chicken tenders & fries for pick up. The chicken and tenders were fresh out of the oven when we picked it up. Chicken & tenders were moist, tasty, large and had a great crust. French fries were pretty good! Please add packets of honey. We shall definitely be ordering from The Cookshak again during our vacation.

They fry chicken pretty well. To me, not overcooking it is half the battle. So they were already half-way there. Taste-wise, it was also pretty good, if not par-for-the-course.That said, if I were going again I'd probably just opt for the tenders. The fried chicken was good but the tenders were better (don't forget those sauces).

Cookshak Chicken is very good! The chicken is crispy and fresh. It is a little costly but it is delicious

Expectations were low as we pulled in the lot and saw a tiny window with take out only. We pre ordered 4 whole fried chickens. We had to pick up because they don't deliver outside of Duck. But man oh man were we wrong. The chicken was moist, well seasoned and had a delicious crispy breading. We picked up in Duck and drove it back to Corolla reheated in the oven and served with the sides that we made. It was the star of the dinner paying homage to the 1980's Swanson Hungry Man Fried Chicken Dinner. It was spot on. Highly recommend.

Absolutely great fried chicken. Got the one bird meal and 10 chicken tenders with Mac and cheese, and coleslaw. Everything was delicious!!!!

Tried it out this week on the strength of prior reviews and we were not disappointed - delicious fried chicken with just a slight spicy kick, the slaw and Mac and cheese were also delicious and the kids liked the chicken tenders as well. The service was quick and friendly at the pickup window and we definitely considered going back for another meal later in the week.

Excellent chicken and solid sides - Cole slaw and macaroni and cheese. Service was timely. Ambiance - does not apply for carry out!. Go - you'll be glad you did!
