The people here are super nice, and the food was excellent! We ordered both pasta and pizza, and everything was absolutely delicious. The four of us shared our meal, and everyone agreed--the ingredients were fresh, flavorful, clearly hand-made and the portions were decent.We stopped in to pick up our takeout right before closing, and I was impressed that the three employees greeted me by name and were incredibly friendly. While we didn't dine in, the restaurant looked great inside--rustic, clean, with a cool vibe. You could see the pizza oven, which added to the charm.The prices were reasonable, especially for such high-quality, homemade food. This is not your typical chain restaurant fare.I highly recommend this spot and can't wait for my next visit!

The closest thing you'll get to NYC pizza without being there. Great service, fresh ingredients and a fantastic Calzone and Bianca Pizza. We loved every bite and have enough for leftovers. Don't waste your time with Pap John's and Dominos. This is real deal. Well done. See you again soon

I have lived in Hampton Roads for 11 years. This is the best pizza I have ever had in this area. A nice thinner crust with a crisp bottom. Savory sauce that isn't sweet or artificial tasting. Quality toppings. I got the Italian pizza and added pepperoni. Each topping had its own delicious flavor, and complimented each other. It is a little pricey, but it's worth it for the quality.

I got the chicken parm pizza good, sauce was homemade! The other person got a salad with strawberry looked good if you like goat cheese. The canolis were great also homemade

What a gem!?! We stopped in on our way to OBX and couldn't have been more pleased with our decision. We got the Smoke Show and Buffalo Chicken pizzas and each of them were excellent. They were both unique in their flavors and so delicious! The crust was absolutely incredible. We were immediately greeted by the owner and other staff members. They were all friendly and helpful. We did carry out but the dining space was a modern take on a classic pizzeria, with about 7-8 small/medium sized tables. Make sure to make The Box Pizzeria your stop to or from OBX, trust us you won't be sorry!PS sorry for the half eaten pizza photo, we couldn't wait to dive in.

This spot was kind of off the beaten path for us we hadn't heard of them until a friend recommended us and they did not disappoint. The pizza was great. We did a quick in and out pickup. It's not a huge place it's within a neighborhood so it definitely gave that local ambiance.

Have been back weekly and the pizza has improved. Still not as good as the first two I have. Been back so much, well my hubby for me, that the workers know who he is by now. The pizza is good folks... the subs are great as well!

Best Pizza in Portsmouth hands down, and the people that work there are rad. I highly recommend visiting historic Port Norfolk for this place, a great kept secret.

Shout out to the Pizza Box!!! Finally made it in since new ownership and it's just as fantastic as it ever was. Love the new decor... and the food, of course! Seriously my favorite pizza ever. David and Beth took excellent care of us and couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating! They recommended the mozzarella bites for a starter and some very good Tiramisu for dessert! I highly recommend both of them! We ordered the Meat Lovers (yum!!!!), my daughter got Roasted Garlic Alfredo for herself and a cheese pizza for her son. All were so very good. Great food, excellent and friendly staff and top-notch service. Cannot wait to go back!!! Feels like being at home!

We used Box Pizzeria to cater our son's rehearsal dinner and everything was amazing. Great pizza , great service and wonderful communication. Definitely recommend for your dinner out , to go or any catering needs .
