Today was a delight having a wonderful tea at Peace Hill. We had a French toast tea which was real creamy tasting. We started with a Butternut Squash soup that was very tasty. The sandwiches included Cucumber, Egg Salad and Chicken Salad. Another offering was a Pumpkin cake, Shortbread cookie. So delicious defenitely would recommend this experience.

I have enjoyed afternoon tea at Peace Hill Farm twice in the last 4 months, and both times were a real treat! My first visit was with a large group of 40, and our tea was held in the farm's event barn, which I believe was once a chicken coup. The chickens don't inhabit the barn any more, and it's a delightful space for events. My second tea was held inside the farm house, which also is a bed and breakfast. You feel like you're in a country home. The tea features soup or another appetizer like peaches, then you received a tower of scones and cream, tea sandwiches, and cookies. Of course there's tea too, like Earl Grey, chocolate, and green. It's all delicious and reasonably priced at $24 per person. After tea, walk around the farm to see the animals.

This review not only represents the farm, house, and food, but also our host Louise. My wife had been here with friends for the afternoon tea and thought I would enjoy it as well. Every October we take a weekend to celebrate our dual birthdays and I decided this year we would not only try the tea and lunch, but stay at the home. Everything was perfect! We were arriving a bit too late on our first night to go to dinner and Louise offered to prepare charcuterie and leave it in the fridge. When we arrived we were greeted by Becky and she explained everything and showed us our room. Once we settled in we sat on the back porch, had wine, ate charcuterie and enjoyed the views. The house was built in the 1880s and it has retained enough of its 19th century good looks to remind you of its history, without compromising comfort. Granted, there are no TVs to be found, but a TV would have been out of place and a distraction. If you are looking to spend your day like you never left your home then this would probably not be your cup of tea. No pun intended. Our first morning we were initially awoken to the scents of breakfast. We went down stairs and that's when we first met Louise. She greeted us and our table was set with such charm. We started with yogurt with fresh berries and French pressed coffee. Then she brought a large platter of scrambled eggs, bacon, biscuits, and marmalade. Louise was very accommodating to my questions about the history of the farm (as you can imagine from this lengthy review I'm a but inquisitive). Everything was homemade and either from the farm, or locally sourced. After breakfast we walked the property to visit the animals, which included a pig that had given birth to several piglets the night before. That afternoon we had our scheduled tea and light lunch. I grew up with a grandmother who was raised by her father from England, so tea and sandwiches were a bit nostalgic. The lunch did not disappoint! The sandwiches were delicious and the tea was wonderful. This wasn't tea bags and hot water, this was tea done proper. The setting, presentation, and unique dishes and silverware was as much a part of the experience. It transported us to a time I have only experienced from literature. At the very least it had none of the uniformity you see in a modern restaurant, which was perfect. The next morning our breakfast was equally delicious. We started the same, but this time it was a plate of potatoes with sautéed red onion, mushroom, short rib, and toast. It is was incredibly hardy and unlike anything you would find at a typical restaurant. The house itself is beautifully decorated with period pieces and there are reminders everywhere that behind the charm of a B&B there is a working farm. Keep in mind though, it's farming in a very pure and simple way. I suspect it's closer to the smaller family farms of yesteryear. Well before farms became outdoor factories and assembly lines. It is clear the animals are treated well and responsibly raised. For my final comments I really want to point out probably the most charming part of the entire experience, and that was our host Louise. I have been to a handful of B&Bs over the years, but going into I always feel some nervousness. I feel like I'm staying at a stranger's house and despite the "make yourself at home sentiment" I still feel like I'm staying with my in-laws. I must admit Louise's warm demeanor instantly put us at ease. She truly seemed to be concerned that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She displayed a level of customer service that I rarely see in the hospitality industry, which was so refreshing. We have already booked one of their Sunday lunches and we will no doubt be visiting again.

We came here for afternoon tea with outside seating. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The food and tea were very good especially the vegetable soup and rosemary scones. The hostess was so nice and helpful. When we were finished we could walk around and see the farm animals. We can't wait to try the farm to fork dinner and a night.

My husband and I just stayed at this amazing place! We give PeaceHill a 10 out of 10! it was such a wonderful stay! We used it as our base to visit Colonial Williamsburg (approx 30 min away). We loved everything about it! Our room was beautiful (Binns room) never slept so well on a trip. Just like home. Our breakfast each morning prepared and served by LouIse was so delicious. Room and grounds were immaculate. We will definitely be back. Susan

Delightful tea--enjoyed with friends two different times. Once in fall (2021) and again at Christmas (2022). Food was amazing, both sweet and savory, and tea was delicious and plentiful. Planning a return visit this coming spring (2023).

It exceeded our expectations and was a very welcomed retreat from the low-key city life of Richmond! We were treated like family and educated by the farmers about all the animals. The yarn and farm-to-table offerings were impressive. The food was outstanding and made tea time and a breakfast a welcomed reprieve from the usual. We'll definitely be returning to treat family and friends alike.

This review is for the Afternoon Tea - Wednesday thru Sunday, noon to four. Summary: delicious, traditional tea in a lovely, relaxing setting. There are four finger sandwich selections, sconces, quick bread, and sugar cookies with multiple tea selections. The appearance and tastes are lovely. Service is friendly and very attentive. Price is about $22 plus tax - very good value. Well worth the drive from Richmond or Williamsburg. I took a brief tour of the suite and room in the house - looked very well appointed and comfortable.
