The next best thing to being in the Atlantic is being next to the Atlantic, 30 feet away from the ocean. Blue Point is serene and chilled. My husband and I spontaneously ventured upon this hidden gem. They have a great wine selection and the service is quick. Do arrive by 6 pm since it gets crowded for the acoustic guitar performance!

Perfect for a drink around sunset. The back bar is low key. There's a few rows of adirondack chairs with tables right along the water.Mostly couples and a few families. Really nice to walk out to the end of the dock for a photo.

Located in the Blue Point's backyard at The Waterfront Shops center right smack dab on the sound. You can sit at the open air bar or chill in an Adirondack chair on the lawn with a delicious cocktail, craft brew, or glass of wine. Come at 6:30 p.m. to enjoy that drink while listening to live music (at least in season) and stay for the stunning sunset. It's the perfect spot to wait for your dinner reservation at the Blue Point!

Arrived at the blue point duck at 5:15 with a party of six, not a soul in the restaurant asked to be seated and we were greeted by "do you have a reservation" and I answered no. He's response "we are not taking reservation, however you may have a drink in the back bar" to which we went and to our surprise you can't be served food in the back. So I was confused about the setup of this restaurant so I went back into the restaurant to ask again and was told the following rudely " you can't have a drink inside without eating but you can have a drink outside, however you can't eat" now it's 5:45pm and still no ones inside however from what I was told we couldn't be seated inside because they are booked. I've been coming to the outer banks for 15 years and I have never been greeted, treated as if a party of six didn't exists. You are In the business of hospitality but from these actions you wouldn't know that and it seems that you may not want to attract business from these actions either, I am not disappointed as I've been told not to expect anything less from my local friends that live year round in the area. This is unfortunately how restaurants don't survive and I truly feel bad for it as I love the outer banks and wish the best for restaurant owners. I hope they can turn this around as it would be a shame to lose a view like blue point, however actions dictate results -

I love the back bar at blue point. It is the perfect setting on the sound to watch the sunset and get a drink post dinner. They have a little yard outside of the restaurant with a tiki bar and lots of Adirondack chairs and tables to sit at. They have waiters that come take your drink order and they have a great list of cocktails, wine, and beer. Definitely come grab a drink here while you are in Duck even if you aren't eating at the Blue Point restaraunt.

Great view, great drinks, rude hostess. I was walking in to grab a seat and minding my own business. When trying to figure out where to wait in line, a woman approached us and asked how she could help us. I patiently said we were looking for a spot to sit outside and she nastily replied, "well we have quite the wait!!". Unnecessary, and I saw three other customers deal with her in similar circumstances. I just wish she was happier
