The Actors' Place

I am a writer and I wanted to know what the Actor went through in order to better understand the people who brought my words to life. I must say that this class was more than I had expected. It taught me a lot about the skills that I didn't know I had possessed, helped me meet great people in the industry and I made a lot of friends. I learned a lot about this profession that I'm still able to carry with me today and I was able to find new career paths That I didn't think were possible. The Instructor Keith Flippen is one of the best human beings I have met. He's honest about the profession, your ability to act and isn't one of those teachers who will just take your money and run. There are a lot of scam artists in this business but Keith is not one of them. He has a group of people who come in and advise you on different sides of the business (Agents, Directors, ect...). Anyone interested in acting should look into this school! I think it will be worth it to you.

I looked forward to On-Camera Audition Intensive every week with instructor, Lucia Scarano. Her years of experience in the business and her down-to-earth, warm personality really made this six session class invaluable. She provided real-life audition scenarios every week where we were asked to self-tape and submit. Then we critiqued our auditions in class and then "put it on its feet," performing it again on camera in class after critique and class discussion. There was always time for questions about all aspects of the acting industry. Lucia provided a lot of useful information and insight that I will definite use as I move forward in my career. I am much more confident and prepared to audition now.

The Actor's Place via Keith Flippen has been an amazing launching pad for me as I've embarked on the life-long dream of acting professionally. I've had minimal training in the Meisner technique before, and have so far only completed the Introductory class with Keith, but in every class I learn so much. I've been a professional educator for over twenty years and can promise you that Keith's teaching approach is a great one for every kind of learner. This class has been a real confidence-booster, and the practical business advice we've received has already benefited me over and again! Most importantly to me, Keith Flippen is a great human being. He offers so much wisdom and hard-earned expertise in hour after hour outside the contracted class sessions. Always there to encourage and assist. Whatever your interest in the realm of film making or performing arts, this class is well worth the investment. I cannot wait to begin the next level here. I have tried a few different acting coaches and have been pretty disappointed by all but Keith Flippen at The Actor's Place. This is the only learning establishment in which I have felt myself growing and improving as an actor and have felt helped by my instructor. Keith is a verteran in the business and a current working actor nothing he tells you (be it technique or the business side of acting) is out-of-touch. Whether you are in front of the class performing a scene/exrcise or you are sitting down observing, you are gaining insight as Keith takes every situation from individual actors and turns it into a general lesson for the entire class. He stays on curriculum and gives fair attention to everyone. You never feel left out. Thanks to Keith's classes at The Actor's Place, Mondays and Wednesdays have become my two favorite days of the week, and I feel a little more confident about moving to a larger, more competative market.
