We were recommended Thai Erawan by a friend so we had to stop in. We were welcomed and sat right away. They were very lovely and accommodating as we had our baby with us. It was cute and clean inside. We ordered a few Thai teas to start out with and they were huge! One of the better Thai teas we have found around the area. I had Penang with 2 chilis (hot). Comparatively it wasn't as hot as I thought it would be but still had a bit. I will go up to 3 chilis next time. The Penang was nice, a little different than others I had as it wasn't as creamy, but still delicious. We ended with some mango sticky rice that was so delicious! We will be going back for sure!

It has been a minute since I've put together an updated review for this place. Sophia and I discovered this restaurant through a friend of ours 4 years ago. So how would this visit go?When we met up with friends on a Thursday night, foot traffic was minimal. The decor was very clean and the vibe was really quiet. You can't ask for a calm evening out. Once we all arrived, it was onto ordering. For my entree, I chose Pad See Eaw, which consists of rice noodles and eggs covered in sweet soy sauce. My protein choice was chicken and I declined broccoli from the dish. It was very good. Well cooked and seasoned just right. One mistake I made was request the spice level as Level 2, which put a bit of too much spice on my pallet. Not the staff's fault, mine. Next time, it'll be at a Level 1.For dessert, I was planning to order Strawberry ice cream, but unfortunately they were out. So I took the chance and picked coconut custard. The last time we were here, Sophia ordered it and liked it so why not try? Thumbs up from yours truly. It was flavorful and not overwhelming. I would definitely choose it again. All in all, a nice night for everyone. You can't go wrong with prompt service and wonderful food. Till next time :)

A delightful Thai restaurant with great food and friendly service. The place is extremely organized, clean, and has natural lighting. I opted for the shrimp in a blanket with sweet chili sauce for appetizer, I was hoping a touch of cream cheese inside but still crisp and delicious. I ordered the beef pad thai (level 4 heat) although it was really spicy I could still detect the great flavors, however, i did not see any crushed peanut toppings. Again, this could be a different style of pad thai because all the other essential flavors of a pad thai was still there. Regardless, we enjoyed both beef and shrimp pad thais.Last but not least, the service was super friendly and checked on us to refill drinks and just to see if we needed anything. This is also one of the cleanest restaurant I have been to with great, but not overwhelming, Thai decor. The background Thai music was a nice touch. I absolutely recommend this place to fellow yelpers.

Not the best Thai restaurant I have been too, but not the worst. I was disappointed with the lack of flavor in the dishes I tried. Thai food is my absolute favorite cuisine and have eaten the following dishes at many Thai restaurants over the years and they just fell flat. Not sure if other dishes are better here, but with so many Thai restaurants in this area, I'll try those out before coming here again. Pad Thai-kind of dry and not very flavorful. Thai basil with chicken-not a lot of flavor. Shrimp summer rolls-the dipping sauce was okay, prefer a little bit more of a peanut taste. This was for takeout and they did have the food ready in a timely fashion!

Wow, wow, wow, what a hidden gem. Sure, the appetizers are just fine, but what really shines are the curries. And yes, because they make everything from scratch and it's not premade, there is a huge vegan selection. Any of the curries can be made without fish sauce. My son got yellow curry (potatoes! a great kid curry) with soft tofu. Thank goodness they don't pre-fry the tofu in huge batches- that tastes stale and gross when they do that in restaurants: here it's all chopped up fresh. I got the green curry with tofu, and it was absolutely delicious. Anne our server was so friendly and helpful and she made sure to bring us over all the extra sauces and peppers to go with our meal - the food didn't eat extra seasoning, but it was fun to have and put on the rice. Love that they have three rice options, brown rice, sticky rice, and jasmine rice . Sticky rice is really fun to dip into the leftover curry sauce. Easy recommend...great vegetarian and vegan selections. My picky child ate everything on his plate...win....but come on potatoes and tofu. What's not to love?

My dining partner recommended Thai Erawan Restaurant (TER) for our lunch date and I LOVE Thai food, so I was game! My dining partner was on a time crunch so I kept my usual thorough analysis of the menu to a minimum. (I like to take my time to see all my options when it's my first visit to the restaurant). Pad Thai usually sets the tone for the rest of the menu and I'm always in the mood for noods so I opted for a Shrimp Pad Thai with a Thai Tea. My dining partner ordered her go-to of Drunken Noodles and the Thai Coffee. Wow, Yorktown, you're lucky! I've been to Thailand twice and this place is pretty legit! The texture of the noodles were perfect and the flavor was spot on! Only thing is, I would probably skip the Thai tea next time and opt for the Thai coffee. I felt it was a bit watered down and not enough milk. The service was lovely too. Very attentive and very friendly!TER is definitely one of the better Thai spots I've had so far in Coastal Virginia. When I'm in the area, I'll be sure to stop by again, when I have more time to analyze the menu and try other items!Stay safe, Friends!

I've gone here a few times with my friend for lunch and I definitely enjoy the food. It's very tasty. Staff is super nice and remembers their customers well to the point that they remember what I order. I only give it two stars because I've seen a bug (looked like a tiny brown banded roach nymph) sitting and running around my plate, and I've also once had hair mixed in my food as well. Those to me aren't complete dealbreakers, as gross as they might seem. I had no issues eating any of those meals during or afterwards. But I'm sure it's an automatic no for others!

Thai Erawan has been a staple of consistently good Thai food for more than 30 years. Located near the Food Lion at Shady Banks Shopping Center on Hampton Hwy, they moved some years ago just a few yards away to a newer strip mall. The interior is welcoming and the staff has been with the restaurant for all of the years I have been eating here. A military crowd frequents as it is adjacent to Langley Bethel Housing. Over the years I have consistently enjoyed their fried rice (Kao Pot Gai), without the tomatoes it comes with. I have also enjoyed the spring rolls. Neither dish has ever waivered in consistency and flavor. I have enjoyed Drunken Noodle, which I have no idea how it got it's name, and I prefer a thinner noodle but I find it is often served elsewhere as it is here with a wide noodle. At dinner time a dish called Dressing Noodle is available, soup like fare that can be a bit messy. At least, I blame the dish, not my own tendency to slurp! It has a wonderful flavor and like most Thai dishes I have tried, the tastes are delicate and subtle. Take out business is always brisk, and the staff has everything down to a science. When I go to Thai Erawan, as I did today, I know what to expect and it is always good without unexpected changes in taste or quality. Lunch for 4 with 4 drinks and an appetizer of spring rolls today was $60 including tax. We all left satisfied as we expected to.

This is one of my favorite thai places. I stopped to get takeout otw home from the gym. We had chicken pad wonsean and chicken pad Thai. Pad wonsean is glass noodles with veges. Our food was ready in 15 min. They are always super nice and the serving was enough to have some for lunch the next day. The Thai tea is excellent and I wish I could drink it everyday. I just can't get enough. No pics this time as I was super hungry. I miss Thai Siam the sister restaurant because it was closer to our house but this is still convenient when we are at the YMCA Victory. I previously took a cooking class years ago at Thai Siam but unfortunately the chef passed away in February this year and they don't have someone to teach the class. Our pad Thai is not nearly as good as here so I'll hold out hope they find someone to have them again in the future.
