Tasty Korean BBQ

Delicious food, great service, nice quiet small dining area. Only thing that wasn't great was folks watching political garbage too loud on their phones. Other than that, 13/10 stars! Will be back!

Wanted to stop for mochi on the way home from Chesapeake wanted to get mochi tea and donuts, but they open at 12pm so went to tasty korean bbq at 11am at Kempsriver shops and got kimbap for dinner for later tonightLady was very nice and and said my order will be done in 15 minutes so fresh made. The inside was small it used to be tons of tables, but I guess in 2020 they had to put less so they put up dividers and than added a china glass cabinet display. They have 3 tables now.This was my first time coming here been wanting to try this place out but I never drove over there, but my dad has tried them before a while ago before 2019The kimbap was in a different container when the pictures were in styrofoams, but now it comes in plastic container for to go. it was tasty and delicious. I will be back to try the other dishes. When I go back over there

The food here is very good. Entrees are made to order so the food is hot and fresh. We have tried nearly everything on their menu over the years and we have no complaint with the food. There is a small dining area. Today while dining in, we needed to clean the tables ourselves. Kinda gross but the food made it worth the hassle. I am solely rating this establishment 3 stars because they seem to choose who they are friendly with otherwise they are downright rude or cold. There is ample parking here and the food is very good BUT I will not be dining with my family where we do feel welcomed. Happy Eating Yeeps!!!

Tasty is pretty tasty! Small joint in Kempsville VB with about 4 tables inside a few tables outside. Food tastes made to order. Bulgogi fried rice was exceptional! Good combo of sweet and salty. Also have boba tea! Gotta try the Thai tea boba. Kinda pricey but well worth good Korean food!

My boyfriend has been talking about how delicious the Tasty Korean BBQ was when he tried it years ago so since we were in the Kempsville area, we decided to stop by and grab some for dinner. As soon as we walked in, we smelled the amazing aroma of bbq and I immediately wanted everything on the menu lol. I asked the lady at the front for some suggestions and she told us that the Spicy BBQ Chicken was popular along with the Beef & BBQ Chicken Combo Meal so we insisted on getting those exact meals for dinner. Since I saw the Bubble Tea sign on the outside as well as by the front area, I ordered the Coffee Caramel Macchiato Bubble Tea while we waited for our meal.The Bubble Tea was made pretty quickly and tasted great. The consistency was more like a smoothie texture than a liquid tea, which was different, but it was still very good. My boyfriend tried some of mine and immediately ordered himself one as well. The food took maybe 15 mins to be brought out which we thought was pretty quick seeing as though it was dinner time. We decided to take the food home to eat it and after taking my first bite, I knew I would be returning ASAP. The Spicy Chicken BBQ was spicy but not unbearable. The white rice that accompanied our meals was seasoned from the meat being placed on top of it and paired so well with everything. The BBQ Chicken was excellent and very juicy! The Bulgogi was delicious. It was very tender and seasoned perfectly, I love that it had a hint of sweetness to it as well. The broccoli was very fresh tasting and wasn't overly cooked. The Korean potatoes were amazing and also had a sweet taste to them which I loved and the kimchi tasted very authentic and wasn't spicy at all. Overall, the Tasty Korean BBQ gets a 10/10 from me! The food was excellent!!! I will definitely be returning to try the other great meals they offer as well.

After stopping at ShareTea in Chesapeake, I was trying to figure out where to go while heading back home to VB. Decided on Tasty Korean BBQ since it has been quite a while since I have been here.There is dining inside and table and chairs outside as well. Its not really big inside. There were 2 two-top tables and I believe a four top in the back. There is display of china tea sets that looked so pretty.I ordered for takeout the Mandoo and #7 Spicy BBQ Pork mini with Bean sprouts and Macaroni.I could not wait to eat this when I got home as it smell was so enticing as I was driving home.Mando was good and crispy and that Spicy BBQ Pork was tender and spicy, nice heat but not the kind where you can't enjoy it. People who are sensitive to heat probably will think this is to spicy. There was so much that I could only eat some of it. The bean sprouts and mac were good as always. Those bean sprouts are the bomb. I enjoyed my food and definitely miss coming here. I have to come by again more often.

Fantastic chicken. We thought it was a great amount of chicken for one serving too. It's so hot that when you open the take out box steam hits your face. The chicken is perfectly tender and seasoned. Their rice is perfectly cooked just the way I like it and steaming hot. You get 3 sides. We ordered Kimchi, broccoli, and bean sprouts. We were not sure if this is how they always serve the sides but they just come cold out of the fridge. They were tasty but we are not use to cooked cold sides. Kimbap was pretty good. We have just discovered Kimbap.There are a couple of small tables inside. When we dine in the food comes either on paper plates or styrofoam containers more like a to go order. Not a bad thing just letting you know what to expect. Service was fine, more like a fast food restaurant.The only reason I give this a 4 star instead of a 5 is because the bathroom is for staff only. I do not like a restaurant that you can't wash your hands before eating. They have bottles of hand sanitizer instead. I absolutely think every restaurant should have a bathroom.We will absolutely come again. The food was great.

I have seen all the great reviews and I wanted so much to give 5 stars. Maybe it was an off day ...??? I ordered carry out of fried mandu and BBQ chicken with my choice of 3 veggies: potatoes, kimchi and cucumbers. Fried mandu was good, very evenly fried and golden. It was crispy, wish it had more seasoning. The saltiness came from the soy sauce dip. The BBQ chicken could have benefited from more grilling. It didn't have that nice crispy edges. The kimchi had too much vinegar. The cucumbers were not crunchy when bitten. The really good tasting part of the meal were the potatoes....

The name of the restaurant describes it. The food from Tasty Korean BBQ is well . . . pretty tasty. I stopped by for a quick lunch. While it's not the best Korean BBQ, it's pretty decent. I would describe it closer to 'fast food' Korean food, which is not necessarily a bad thing. While there are tables both inside and outside, the place seems more like a grab-and-go kind of spot. The prices are pretty good, especially for the amount of food you will receive. Overall, I had a positive experience and more than likely will return to try some other things on Tasty Korean BBQ's menu.

When I first arrived at Tasty Korean Bbq, you can smell the delicious food they were making. The customer service was top notch and the restaurant was clean and welcoming. I just ordered the kimbap, and I have to say it was amazing. I will definitely come back and try them all. I recommend Tasty Korean BBQ to anyone who loves Korean food.
