Tala Market

Small little store but it was cool to visit an authentic Arabic market! The worker that was there was so kind and we had a nice discussion of what some of the different items were, some good Arabic and Turkish restaurants, etc. Definitely found some things in there I want to try out once I find the right recipe. Nice little spot!

I love this idea of buying meats fresh and cut to my liking, depending on what I have in mind for dinner. I cook Briyani lots if curries. Lamb, kebabs. They offer Halal meats which I enjoy and feel they are of course cleaner and fresher meats. Teas, candies and spices. Cooking pots and lots of Eastern European delights like stuffed grape leaves.

Excellent products and service. I feel fortunate to have a grocery store that specializes in middle eastern foods near my neighborhood, especially one of this quality.

I stopped in to see what a halal food store actually sells. First of all, when I first stepped inside the smell is intoxicating. The smell of fresh curry hits my nose and I'm in heaven. The store itself is rather small with just some aisles of food. I saw ground spices, cookies, desserts, Mediterranean sesame fudge, a plethora of beans, coffee, tea, everything you can imagine canned and pickled, hookahs, dishes, and fresh breads and meats. Everyone there was pretty friendly. The prices of everything was pretty reasonable. The only reason I didn't purchase anything this time was because I was in a hurry and many things caught my eye. I'll be back and will bring the hubby.

One thing I missed about Chicago was it's Mediterranean cuisine and fresh baked bread, so when my friend told me about this spot, I was excited to check it out. And I must say, the bakery was better then expected. Store was very clean, and prices are reasonable. And the worker there was very helpful. Will be back next week.

Great little market with a good meat selection. I got some nutritious lamb liver, which I turned into liver, bacon, and onions. It was delicious

Being somewhat new to the Hampton roads and a Muslim, I did my best to search all places selling halal meat in this area and Tala is the best I've come across! The store is clean, organized, and doesn't smell like raw meat at all (which is sadly common in halal meat stores). To top it off the owners are very friendly and are honest in terms of service. Ask for fresh meat and you'll get it!

Small but friendly and clean. And I got there they had just taken some pita bread out of the oven to cool down. And the smell was incredible. Ended up buying several bags, and they were divine. Definitely recommend for the fresh pita and other food that they have there. They are also a butcher and you can purchase fresh meats poultry etc. from them. the prices are very very competitive. I'm definitely going to be returning

This is the best halal store I've ever been to . This store will sell anything you need and is inexpensive. The people that work there are very nice and friendly and are always wiling to help. Their snacks are to die for . The bread is so soft and delicious. The butcher cuts the meat how you want it and does it so nicely . If I was to recommend a place to go buy necessities, it would be this one .
