Sweet Royale Hotdogs & Poetry

Really happy we found this place. The hotdogs were amazing and the owners were personable. We were wonderfully surprised by the poetry recited by the owner, and stories of his background. His poetry prompted another customer (a Longshoreman!) to want to share his poetry too, but couldn't find it on his phone. This was a really great place, and I hope others go out and experience it!

My husband and I had lunch at this establishment today. The owners are very cordial, professional and friendly. We were greeted upon arrival and told the daily special, which the both of us ordered. The hotdogs were cooked perfectly and the toppings were pretty tasty. I requested the combo with crispy fries and I must say they were cooked and seasoned very well. They have poetry on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month, the next one July 7th. They also have a live band that performs, I just don't know the days. If you're in the area and want a good hotdog, stop by and pay them a visit. Currently they're only offering beef hotdogs in the daytime with hopes to possibly expand the menu in the future. During the evening events a different menu is available. It was definitely worth our visit.

My husband and I both had the Royale combo and the hot dogs were absolutely delicious. They packed some heat. We will definitely return!

This is next door to the Pizza Box in the old Still in Port Norfolk. It is run by a young couple and he is former Navy. I had the Royale Hot Dog Combo. It comes with two hot dogs with chili, onions, and mustard. This not your ordinary hot dog. The fries were crisp. I had a coke to drink. The chili is absolutely delicious, and has a kick(but not too much). Check them out. I will be back.
