Sweet Beans Coffee Bar

Dropped in on a whim one afternoon and was pleasantly surprised! It's not really visible as you drive by so I rarely think about it being so close to my home...it's less than mile and a half away so now that I know it's good, I'll need to head back to try some other things.On this trip, which was late afternoon on a week day, I was craving a chai latte and stopped in to check it out. There was only one very pleasant young lady working and a pretty steady flow of customers so it did take a little longer than I'd hoped to be served but I enjoyed taking a look around the place while I waited. They have books, they have games, they have scheduled events (paint night for example) and they have a good variety of bakery items and hot sandwiches among other things. What a fun atmosphere! Oh and did I mention they also serve beer and wine! They have enough of a variety so there's sure to be something for everyone. You should definitly go and give it a try too.

Another fantastic order! Friendly staff and quick response! The inside has all kinds of sitting and things to do while you're there alone or with friends. There are games and books to entertain you. The coffee and kolache I ordered were perfection!!

Really liked working from this cafe. It was low volume/silent most of the time. Not busy at all but still had a good flow of customers coming. The music played overhead was a good volume but at one point the music stopped altogether for whatever reason. Haha. Drinks are decently priced. I got a small chai tea latte and it was surprisingly yummy. I substituted the milk for almond milk. It was nice and foamy at the top and the flavor of chai was not too strong. I had also purchased a coffee cake. I wasn't able to find silverware anywhere and had to request for one. To my surprise, when t trying to eat it, it wasn't soft but kind of stiff and hard to put my fork through to get a bite. Kind of disappointing but the flavor was still there. I didn't bother to ask if they could warm it up so that's probably something I'll do next time. Will definitely be coming back in the future! I got a lot of work done here.

Great food, coffee and atmosphere. Tables were full of people playing games, drawing, and enjoying each other's company.

Lovely find. Fresh selection if Pasteria. Delicious coffee. Great vibe and prompt, friendly service. Highly recommend. Excellent.

When you enter Sweet Beans, you'd quickly realize it's nothing you'd expect - very positively surprising. From the outside I couldn't be sure if it's open or not, the open sign is hard to see without the typical lights and everything is very subdued from the outside, no signage, no colorful paint... very understated.But inside.... It's spacious, it has lots of tables, a merchandise corner and the mural on the wall so unique.Service was friendly, I came in when they were about to close at 5:30pm but the barista was accommodating when I asked if she could prepare me something simple. She said she could do a chai latte - and boy, it's one of the tastier chai lattes I've had in a while!I also grabbed a chocolate chip cookie to go. The cookie tasted yummy but healthy, very nicely paired with the chai latte. I definitely would come by this way next time I am in Puquoson...

my partner and i stumbled upon this hidden gem of a coffee shop on an extremely hot day and was so surprised to see beautiful art of the wall (which i loved!)i ordered a vanilla ice latte, which is totally out of my norm but it was the perfect balance of smooth espresso and velvety vanilla sweetness. my partner opted for the milky way ice latte, which they enjoyed but would definitely try another flavor next time. the staff was friendly and attentive, making sure we had a great experience. the menu had an impressive variety of coffee drinks, and we can't wait to explore more of their offerings in the future.

Looking for a good cup of coffee? Head elsewhere. This place has work to do. Our hot coffee was tepid at best as it sat waiting to be delivered while the barista worked through all the tickets he had in front of him instead of having the cashier distribute drinks. Our order was half delivered than interrupted while the staff chatted up a new customer with an interesting mug. I got my lukewarm cup and then we waited another 15 minutes for the second drink in our order. It too arrived lukewarm as it sat despite our query while the barista made cold drinks and the cashier headed to the back. Neither drink was worthy of the wait.

I was so pleasantly surprised to have found a locally owned coffee shop! Not to mention having a comfortable space so I can study & sip some delicious coffee just completed the whole aesthetic. I got the fall colors without the cinnamon (add white chocolate) & it was delicious ! Their in house tea (I did mine over ice) wasn't bad- it kind of had a mint flavor to my blueberry which was interesting but I do want to try other flavors. The staff were so friendly & patient with me, they answered all of my questions & really made me feel valued by not rushing me to order. The pricing was what you can expect (not higher than other shops in the area). I LOVED the couch section but discovered it doesn't have outlets which was a bummer but the chairs across the cafe were comfy too! I also really enjoyed the handmade crafts that were displayed (hand poured soy candles, custom cups & shirts). I think it's neat that they also offer beer! Hoping to come back to try out more items ! Excellent coffee, warm service, very comfortable ambiance. I enjoyed my time there and went very frequently when I lived nearby.
