Super Wings

I bought two items from there and wanted to look elsewhere for some stuff. They always display they are having a "sale" when it's really just cheap crap. The beach towels we bought are literally see through. I then asked where to buy stuff in an OBX Facebook group other than Super Wings and one of their buyers harassed me on an OBX Facebook group because I asked for suggestions on where to buy things other than super wings. His family owns all of them.Their stores are overwhelming and cheap. Look at Farmers Daughter, Parrot Bay or The Cotton Gin for better stuff and nicer people.

One day...maybe one day...I will finally get that coveted "KDH" sticker. This is -- supposedly -- the only place on the NC Outer Banks where you can get it. Not sure if that's true because it's never been here. They have TONS of apparel, and you can easily get lost in here looking at all of it: shirts, tank tops, sweatshirts, joggers, shorts, hats, you name it. We got a couple warm shirts on this last visit. You can also find swimsuits, boogie boards, drinkware, stuff for the beach, and lots of beach-y home decor tchotchkes here.

There was a lot of Outer banks clothing and accessories! Prices were pretty good! The selection is endless and the service was good. I'd stop in again if in the area for souvenirs.

Before you get your tastebuds ready, based on the name, Super Wings is not, I repeat, not, a restaurant. Fooled me when I initially visited the Outer Banks years ago.Super Wings is a local souvenir shop. With multiple locations throughout the area, finding a reminder or two of your visit will be easy.Hubby surprised me with refrigerator magnets. I asked for one, but he went overboard.

6/21/20There are a lot of Super Wing stores in the Outer Banks area. Driving up and down the road you will most likely see one every seven minutes or sooner. This store is marked as the third store in Nags Head, but to me it is the number one store. I will get to the reason why in a moment. This store is close to where we are stay for the week and after walking for four miles. My wife developed blisters on her feet from the flip flops she was wearing. We had walked by our rental house on our sight seeing and her feet paid the price.After buy some medical supplies and grabbing a bite to eat, I wanted my wife to wear some comfortable footwear made for the beach. My wife sometimes picks stuff that is cute, but not comfortable to wear. Yes, I know the sayings, but I go with Style and Comfort. So when entering the store, I made my way to the sandal section and found some that had a combination of both comfortable and cute...a word I hear way to much.The sandals are black and pink, but the design that holds your feet in the sandal us what caught my eye. My wife is a size 7 so it took some time to find the same color in her size. I saw the same sandal in gray and blue, but those would not hold the same weight as the hot pink. I did locate the type of sandal and headed for the check out line. I did see a North Carolina Outer Banks comfortable feeling sweater that I am seriously considering buying. The manger who called me over is a sweet young lady. I don't remember her name, but I will get it before I leave North Carolina. I explained that my wife had blisters on her feet and could get out of the car to see the shoes I wanted to buy for her. I made ready to ask if I could exchange the footwear if she didn't like them, but the manager said "go ahead and show them to my wife." Mind you, I would have used my phone, but it was in the car recharging. I have no picture for this business so now I have a better reason to return to this store.The small act of kindness the manager showed me made all the difference in the world. I knew what my wife would and wouldn't like and I nailed it this time around. Walking back to the store the manager rung me up and I ended up buy small powerful flashlight my wife can carry instead of the big a bulky one she brought with her.Walking on the beach at night tonight is all part of the plan. I also plan on returning to this store and thanking the manager again for making our day. We will return to this store again.

My heart broke when I walked in here and saw that they were selling Live painted snails!!! Not only is it extremely cruel to the snails because the paint is toxic to them but also, you know that anybody purchasing these for their kids on vacation are just going to kill them. I mentioned it to the cashier to please pass it onto the management. You got to love wings! They have just about every souvenir you could ever want. The prices are reasonable. The staff is not always so helpful, but they are polite. The best time to visit Wings is in late August when they clearance everything 50-70%. That's when I buy the kids boogie boards and t-shirts.

What a souvenir shop! Very large indeed with very reasonable pricing. All you're beach toys/gear can be found here. From flip flops, tank tops, swimwear, it's all here. I did have a problem identifying sizes of the men's swimming shorts. While they are literally stocked from floor to ceiling, the hangers holding them to the wall, many didn't have the sizes. The only way was to actually take them down and look/see. That's a pain. But otherwise great selection and friendly counter staff.

Huge selections except they didn't have any shark tooth necklace for boys, (but other stores on Kill Devil Hills/Nags Head didn't have authentic anyway). The sales were good. I got OBX basketball shorts for $10 and classic swim trunks for $12. We were there for a large family beach blanket and they did not let us down.

Many different sizes of boogie boards, but they weren't cute but thats usually the case with body boards. They all say OBX on the back. They have many hats of different sizes. I only explored the right side of the store, so I wasn't able to see the full inventory and store. This Super Wings had post cards priced at 2 for $1. They offer carts and baskets, which you don't usually see in these types of stores.The female worker that day wasn't particularly friendly but wasn't rude either.
