The location is a little difficult to get to if you're going south on Granby but it's definitely worth making that U-Turn.The service was just ok. I could barely hear our waitress and she seemed mostly confused when I asked questions about various menu items. The food on the other hand was a completely different matter. It really was quite tasty. The Jerk Chicken. Moist and flavorful with a little kick. Not the kind that hits you in the face but the kind that makes you take another bite. And then another. The sides were pretty tasty too. I had the coconut rice and peas as well as the collards. All tasty options to pair with my delicious jerk chicken. My dining companion went for the root beer ribs and grilled asparagus. More good eating! The food is finger lick'n tasty. I keep telling my husband about this place and I'm going to need to take him there because he LOVES jerk chicken. Definitely going back.

Wow! Best jerk chicken & corn pie I've had in years! This is a hidden gem you MUST try! Quiet, not too busy and a warm, welcoming staff. I'll be back!

The food is good, the house made hot sauce is HOT, and the pricing is pretty reasonable. But this is a new restaurant opened by people with little restaurant experience. So, either give them more time to work out the kinks or go in with quite a bit of patience. I went in once by myself and lunch took an hour, went back with my girls and dinner took two hours.

Just stop by!We relied on Yelp for something different and we were not disappointed. After reading reviews, we ordered the coconut shrimp appetizer, mozzarella and tomato salad, root beer ribs, and goat curry. For drinks we had the mauby and sorrel. The breading for the coconut shrimp was delicious and the sauce complimented it well. The mozzarella and tomato salad was incredible--extremely generous portions of mozzarella cheese (huge!), tomatoes, avocados, and the basic balsamic vinegar dressing was the best I've ever had. It's just different, and very good. The slow cooker root beer ribs were very good, smothered with spices, and very tender. For sides we got grilled zucchini, yellow rice, and steamed cabbage. The zucchini was cooked perfectly, the yellow rice was just a tad bit dry but still flavorful, and the steamed cabbage was not our thing, but it was recommended.A reviewer wrote that the goat curry was amazing. We can live without it. It contrasts with the very delicious root beer ribs. The curry was in no way like any traditional curry we have had--it was not european, not Indian, not islander, and not Japanese. I guess it's the Caribbean version of curry. This was ordered with asparagus and yams, and these were okay too.We Googled the drinks and they both have medicinal properties. However, the sorrel is more palatable than the mauby. The mauby tastes like liquorish in a cup. Ask for a sample.Service was good, ambiance can be modified (it's a little dark), and the owner/chef came out to talk to us--lovely woman and we told her how wonderfully prepared the dishes were; she's from St. Vincent. Overall great food and we look forward to returning to this restaurant...next time we will give the chicken a chance to shine!

Every visit here gets better and better. In my observation the owner and chefs use feedback of guests' dining experiences here to perfect it and it seems to be working! The food is always delicious and beautifully plated.Full of authentic flavor, never to much or to little of any one ingredient, spice, etc. and the service consistently attentive and courteous. The art of cooking is valued at this establishment I can tell by the complimentary blend of flavors, menu selections, and eye appealing presentations. What I really appreciate about dining here is that the chef comes out shortly after the meal is served to greet us and genuinely inquire how we're enjoying it. I can't ask for more.

The outside deck was nice. The food was okay. I live in Va. beach so there are other Caribbean restaurants close to me. It is not anything extraordinary about this place that would make me go out my way. They have a good deal on groupons. The food was slightly bland. However, the customer service was great, so I will return to try another dish. Round 2

It took them over 15 minutes just to bring us our waters. My husband and I both ordered drinks and they came out 25 minutes after putting in our order. The crazy thing is that we were literally the ONLY table in the restaurant. On a Friday night. The mixed specialty drink (was supposed to be a frozen drink) was served lukewarm and had a terrible flavor. Food arrived over an hour later. When asked about the slow wait, we were given the answer that there was only one cook back there. Okkkkaayyy? Food was meh. Pineapple glazed chicken tasted like they dumped canned pineapple juice on it. I had zucchini and the macaroni pie and both were bland and mushy. I did enjoy the fresh guacamole and chips! The guacamole has a unique sweet flavor to it, which was a nice surprise. Probably not going back.

I'm the person who always read reviews but never write one, but I just had too for this restaurant. love the food!!!!I found this place using a groupon deal. The food was amazing, even my friend who is a picky eater tried curry goat for the first time and enjoyed it. The lunch/dinner prices are very reasonable. I've eaten there three more times since then (it's that good). The staff is very nice and the atmosphere is casual and the music is relaxing. I think this place is a great way to change things up and try something new.

I had the privilege of trying this little gem (in the rough) out for the first time last night. Grenadian food, of which I was not familiar, but is similar to other Caribbean cuisine. First off, there is a bottle of homemade hot sauce (scotch bonnet) on the table. It is delicious and brings the heat. If you like habanero heat then use it . If you are a wuss for the heat avoid it. My group had two appetizers to start : Coconut Shrimp with Orange Marmalade and Cucumber Cups Stuffed with Spicy Chicken. The presentation on both are a little eighties but I am more about flavor than just presentation. The Shrimp was slightly sweet from the coconut and had a nice spice to it. I have had this style of shrimp at other restaurants but this was by far my favorite. The chicken salad in the cucumber cups were also pungently spiced and balanced with the exterior cucumber. We tried four different entrees: Slow-Cooker Root Beer Ribs, Goat Curry, Ox tails, and Shrimp Curry. The presentation on all of the dishes is a large clean white plate with the entrees and sides placed in an appealing and non-crowded arrangement. The sides were delicious and varied. I thought the plantains were a bit under-ripe and not as sweet as I am used to but this could be how the Grenadines prefer their plantains. The mac and cheese pie was a surprise with a wonderful fresh garden pepper spice to it. The Ribs were sweet and salty (in a good way) and fall of the bone tender. The shrimp were small and had a hard time standing up the the pungent Grenadian style curry but were still tasty. The ox tails were tender and wonderful, some of the best that I have had anywhere. The crowning jewel of the entrees was the Goat Curry. Truly stunning and wonderfully balanced dish. This was absolutely hands down the best goat I have ever had. When it came time to make a decision for dessert we were informed that most of the dessert items were unavailable. This is a small mom, son , and wife (I was informed that both the son and his wife are Navy swapping off deployment and restaurant operation, tough stuff!) operation so I completely understand that they will run out of things from time to time. We ended up getting the rum cake and homemade coconut mango ice cream . The rum cake was moist and flavorful but is overwhelmingly rum flavored. I did not dislike it but it got a little heavy at times. The ice cream was a complete home run. I make my own ice cream so I can be a bit snobbish on occasion. This however was a textured , custard based, balanced sweetness, dish of delightfulness. I finished off my daughters bowl after giving her ample time to change her mind about being done with it. There are a few rough edges to work out here. The ambiance is still a bit sparse and the coordination between the servers and the dishes coming out of the kitchen is true island style ( you get what you get when you get it, be patient , just relax mahn). I predict that in a couple of months it will be hard to get a seat here on a Friday or Saturday night. Get you some!

Wandering around looking for a bite to eat and happened in here. Had a delicious meal plus a couple happy hour draft beers. The Caribbean spinach and shrimp was delicious, as were the cabbage and collard greens. Hard to beat $2 draft beers too. The owners and staff were all super friendly too.
