We had Petey as our hibachi chef and he was amazing. Super engaging and everything was cooked great! Very delicious

Well, not the best Hibachi experience; but not terrible. Went there for son's BDay dinner (14). Besides the standard clattering of spatula and knife; the chef wasn't really interactive with the table. Food IMO was cooked out of order; rice first (up charge for fried rice....... :( ) , then proteins *Chicken way way overcooked. Then the veggies (standard volcano) then cabbage. BDay sing along was cool (another up-charge)Overall; meh. Most likely won't be going back.

The food is excellent in taste and value. The service is great, and the ambiance is family-like. There are about eight guests at a table, whether you know each other or not.

attended a birthday dinner with over a dozen people, filled two hibachi grills and cooks. atmosphere was very welcoming and the servers greeted us and served us exactly how we wanted our food. kids were in attendance as well so if the kids loved it, we loved it for them. from the seafood, chicken, or steak, it all tasted fresh. there wasn't a single piece of dry meat or unseasoned food. perfect place for a date night.

It was ok. I don't usually go to hibachi places but we went for a family birthday. Everyone seemed to enjoy it but the food wasn't memorable. I need to be gluten free so I had sushi. They were happy to put notes in that I was gluten free and told me they had gluten free soy sauce. But when I received my dish, they were confused and said no, they don't have it and actually ADDED it to a few of my rolls. Overall it was entertaining but I won't be back.

I haven't had hibachi in over a decade, but Sumo Japanese was a such a great experience, I feel I need more of it now. The waiter was awesome and the chef was entertainingly brilliant.Browsing the menu, I was intrigued by keeping the glass cup for their signature alcohol drinks so I ordered "The Sumo", which was very tasty. As far as food, I was contemplating between the filet mignon and chicken or just the chicken. I settled for the chicken and it was exceptionally well made. The overall prices are well worth it, considering the amount of food your getting + the entertainment of it being prepared right in front of you. There was so much food I had to get the rest to go. It's been almost a week since I have been and I'm considering going back already. As a heads up, incase you aren't aware, that if you plan to go in a party if 6 or more, your bill will have gratuity already added.

A little bit of a wait to get in but worth it. Food and service were good. A little pricey for me but everything else was great. I would go back.

I've eaten at this restaurant many times with large and small crowds. The food is outstanding. It is my favorite Japanese restaurant in Virginia Beach. The food shows differ a bit by chef and I've noticed they cater to the audience (especially younger children). It's a fun experience for everyone. It's rated as $$, but I think it's $$$- but well worth the money.

Had a large family party for my daughter's 12th birthday, and they were able to accommodate a large group just fine. I do think the waitresses were a little stressed out by the ordering process though. Food was very good and cooked well. Always fun to watch the hibachi chefs go to work. It's become very pricey though.
