Subway Station

These are the best subs I have had and I have eaten at this restaurant since 1980 when I was at Ferguson High School. The owner Tom has always been friendly and involved the operation of this shop. I love the secret sauce which makes the food better.

This spot here has become a go-to for subs. When a local place stack on protein between toasted bread for a decent price, you know you're set. Last week, Sophia and I needed to order food for the night and also for lunch the next day at work. Could this visit let us down leaving us hungry?As with many times, we placed our order over the phone where they were ready in 15-20 minutes. And just like that, they were both bagged up and ready to go. They were pretty busy as always and had a few people seated inside while the TVs were showing sports. And the place appeared clean when I walked in. I ordered a full size Genoa and Cheese sub with pickles added and yellow mustard to replace their Secret sauce. Like before, it was pretty good. I really appreciate a sub that has a whole lot of meat for a decent price. And I took half for lunch the next day feeling full.When in doubt, order a sub to keep you hungry. You know we'll be back here as always :)

I love this place. Very nostalgia...very simple...order your sub with their secret sauce and go about your day. Never had a bad experience. Not too big of a place...but you can just get your food to go if they are busy...students get a discount

Upon entering the restaurant, my initial impression was that it appeared gloomy and dingy. The dining room lacked proper lighting, and the floor was dirty. Further, the soda fountain was out of service, which was a good thing because it looked unsanitary. When I asked for water with my order, the cashier filled it from a kitchen faucet, as the fountain was out of service. I ordered two chocolate chip cookies which were placed in a Ziploc bag. In my opinion, a proper bag with the restaurant's logo would be more appropriate.Overall, I believe that the restaurant needs a major exterior and interior renovation, as well as better branding and packaging. Additionally, some of the workers were eating in the sandwich-making station, which was not very appealing.Despite these issues, my college-aged son recommended the restaurant, so we decided to try it. We ordered a 12-inch roast beef sandwich and a 12-inch steak and cheese sandwich. In fairness, both sandwiches were delicious and much better than subway sandwiches.

My husband has been going here for years and introduced me awhile back. He usually gets the Conductor which is awesome! Just the secret sauce itself is amazing and the bread perfectly toasted. There are roughly 20 parking spots for this store. You can even call ahead and place an order. For the years my husband has been picking up sandwiches for us, there hasn't been any trouble with the service and the orders are accurate.

Great little sandwich shop. I had the club car toasted with special sauce, so good. My husband had the subway express which was amazing as well!

Noting sub-par about the Subway StationThe three of us visited here just before noon on a Saturday in mid-July. It is just across the street from Christoper Newport University. Due to the time of year, it was relatively quiet on campus, but the Subway Station still had a steady stream of pick-up and eat-in customers. We order or selections from the counter and waited just a few minutes for the order to be prepared. Each of us chose a half-sub - Subway Express, Atlantic City, and Club Car. The sandwiches came out quickly and freshly toasted. My Subway Express was delicious and heftily loaded with plenty of meat, lettuce, tomato, and special secret sauce. My companions agreed that their sandwiches were equally good. The staff was friendly and quick. There are just a few tables in the restaurant, but we found that was ample for us. The atmosphere was typical of a sandwich shop.

Great subs ! Especially like the conductor toasted. Whether inside or take home it never disappoints.

Great food and a neighborhood gem. Many cnu students visit and are employed there. This restaurant gives back to the local community.

So good, and such a fun vibe. We loved our subs and the tea was amazing! Can't wait to go back
