STUFT- Not Your Average Street Food

Writing this review isn't fun for me bc I wanted to love this place. I'd heard so many good things! So, after a long evening out with my husband, we decided to stop there for dinner for my birthday before taking the hour plus ride home. We decided to get take out bc I wanted to sit somewhere pretty (like by the water) while we ate. It was around 10pm on Feb 1 2025. We ordered online - he ordered a steak burrito & I ordered a vegan burrito bowl, nothing complicated - bc we didn't want to wait & took the 10-15 minute drive to Mallory St. First of all the parking lot is tricky. It's a dirt plot with no discernibly marked spaces - just a couple of orange cones kind of tossed around & a clearly broken down truck in the parking lot. Ok, NBD, I wasn't getting out (I'm disabled & can't walk - use crutches or a wheelchair. This day I had my crutches). So Hubs got out & went inside. There I sat, in that parking lot for nearly an hour. People pulled in, went in, picked up THEIR food, left. Very quick operation - for Them. This happened over and over. Finally, as I noticed I'd been waiting for what shouldn't have been a difficult order to be prepped & sent out with my husband for over 40 minutes, I dug my crutches out of the back seat (not an easy task), got out of the car & began wobbling through the parking lot (which had pot holes & other hazards for people who aren't able-bodied) around the building to the front door. Just as I was rounding the corner to the door, my husband finally came out. I asked him in pretty colorful language what took so long? Were they murdering the cow? Did they need to grow the rice/veggies? Was the place more crowded than the few cars in the lot indicated? Were aliens abducting the kitchen staff?The answer to all of this was of course no, there was no special reason or extenuating circumstance. A guy just kept coming out of the kitchen saying 'a few more minutes' as other orders were apparently pushed ahead of ours & we continued to wait. I told my husband that for the wait this had better be the best burrito bowl I'd ever had. Sadly, it was not. It WAS good, but for the price, the distance driven, the lack of service and the incredible and unapologetic wait time, it wasn't THAT good. I would eat there again if someone picked it up & brought it to me, but I will never again make a trip specifically to STUFT, only to be given awful service for just 'normal' tacos/burritos. Maybe that's how the college kids like being treated, but not the rest of us. Wish it had been a better experience.

OctWhen they only had a food truck. It was it. Now they have a restaurant. Long of the short. Wont be going back. Portion sizes are seriously scaled back. Ive gotten bigger burritos from taco bell. Flavor town is empty. Took 30 mins for appetizers and we were the only ones eating. not sure if that was a good sign or not. Got our food, and after a couple bites and not getting our refills we opted for togo box. that took another 20 mins. dropped cash and left after asking and waiting for our check (we were sitting at the bar) and not getting it. I rank my decisions to eat somewhere again as:1 star - if someone else buys it I won't eat it, I would rather go hungry.2 star - if I'm hungry, no other options are open and someone buys it - I would consider eating it3 star - I'm ok with eating it as long as someone else pays 4 star - I will eat again and pay for it and be a semi-regular customer 5 star - I will travel for good food and pay good money and be back on a regular basis and maybe even pay for yours just so we can go

STUFT was everything I wanted it be and more: local bar with amazing food and service!Came here for lunch with a friend on a recent visit to Hampton to enjoy the beach, and I am so glad we did. The staff who served us turned out to be the owners and they were perfect examples of local entrepreneurs: pleasant, committed, hard-working, and a great sense of how to make the customer experience one that they would want to receive themselves.On the same level of the service is the food: as soon as I saw the Chicken Chorizo Dorito Burrito I knew I had to have it. That name alone sells it, right? Come to find out, it is not only cleverly-named but also delicious and HUGE (see my photo here), and you get all that for a great price too.The only thing I would note is that this place is primarily a bar. This didn't bother me one bit but my friend tends to prefer places that are actual restaurants and so didn't love it as much as I did. In that regard, I would call this an awesome spot for friends who like the bar atmosphere. Either way, I loved it here and absolutely plan to return on a future Hampton trip!Overall: 4.5 stars-----Pros:- Amazing food with outrageously good portions.- Pricing is very fair for what you get.- The owners are great and make sure your experience is a positive one.- Lot is small but has enough spaces given the size of the place.Cons:- I enjoy the bar vibe but it's not everyone's cup of tea, so bear that in mind when you choose who you bring with you.

Shrimp was hard and only had mediocre flavor. What made this taco somewhat alright was the sauce and the toppings they put on the shrimp. Not much to say, but I thought the shrimp was going to pack a punch since it was breaded in Dorito... I did order over the phone and service was quick picking up.

Food was good. It is a BAR though. Drinks looked good. Beer on tap. Mexican theme. Loved my walking taco. The hass sauce.... EAT IT. My coworker got a senora hot dog. The slaw side was small but not mayo based. They have vegetarian options. Yes, bring the kids but it's a bar vibe!!

Loved the vibe inside. Our server was really sweet and checked on us plenty for drink refills. However.. the food was severely lacking flavor. We ordered chips with salsa and beer cheese to start, and they were decent. Then I ordered a rice bowl with chicken and despite drowning it in sauce, it was so flavorless and bland. My husband ordered a burrito and said the same for his.

Great tacos! This restaurant was recommended by a friend. We both ordered tacos which come with a side of tortilla chips. We can't wait to go back and try more items from the menu!

Food was just ok. Waited about 40 mins for a burrito, quesadilla, and the egg rolls (which were too salty for me to eat). Really wanted to love this place, but won't be going back. It's a BAR, and that needs to be updated in the description. We had our toddler with us, and since we made the drive and braved the treacherous parking lot, we made it work, but the place smelled like smoke and was very clearly a bar scene. Not great for families.

Friendly staff and great vibe. Food was delicious and the drinks are yummy. Only complaint was the server forgot to put in my food order so my boyfriend's food arrived and the nice guy behind the bar ended up making sure mine got in. Plus we only ordered one order of fries and ended up with two and having to pay for two. We plan on going back for the live music or trivia.

Quite possibly the best burrito I've had in my life. The fries were good a crispy too absolutely delicious. I also got a side of guacamole and 10/10. My only complaint is that the burrito was so massive I had to strategize each bite I took, not a terrible problem to have. Their hot sauce was so yum. I came in just after 11:00 on a Saturday and it was pretty empty inside but the servers were friendly and multiple checked in on me periodically. The inside is clean and cute with high tops and regular tables to sit at.
