Went to this place brought three piece fish sandwich meal with macaroni and cheese, rice pudding, spoon bread and I ordered a two piece fish sandwich only, spent about 25 dollars and everything I ordered was absolutely disgusting. Don't bring your dog here to eat please don't. The fish had no fish between the skin, the rice pudding had no sugar in it as well as the spoon bread wasn't done and had no sugar. I mean this is the worst food imaginable and I will never ever eat here again and I will tell everyone I know of my experience so that they won't waste their money or time.

Was in the highland park area and was craving seafood. Looked up this place because I've passed it several times thinking it was just a fish market and not a restaurant! Came in there were two cashiers one had a mean mug and was very unpleasant to look at did not greet me and didn't look excited to be at work, but the other young lady working the front was nice and even gave me a suggestion since it was my first time.. got the food in a timely fashion I ordered a two fish dinner with shrimp and two sides fries and collard greens... to start the Catfish was soggy and very soft hot sauce couldn't change the taste the fries were crispy but had no seasoning in sight I guess you have to ask for the dry seasoning the collards, hush puppies, and shrimp were decent but by the end of the night I was tossing and turning due to food poisoning. It seems like the locals there love it and go for more than seafood but me will not be coming to this place again!

This place is horrible. The service was good. They were nice but this wasn't as expected. The food is overpriced for the quantity you get and the fish was horrible. It wasn't even seasoned. I tried this place for lunch because it was close. Look at this cornbread!!! . Never again.

This place back in a day had some of the best seafood that you could ask for. Now it's under new management and the food taste like cardboard! All the season is gone oh yeah and the prices have doubled! Yes it looks Nice and clean now however the food quality is gone the guy outside and the crab stand refused to let me see what the crabs look like before I bought them. Just bought a eight dollar fish sandwich and that's all it was two piece of bread and two pieces of fish this place is ridiculous!

I was in the Richmond area and used to over 20 years ago stop by and eat here. I found out Stuart had died many years ago, and the man who worked with him many many years sold the business.I ordered the oyster dinner with 3 sides. The oyster were way too salty with the breading they used to fry them in so no taste to come through while eating the oyster. Oysters should have a taste of deep seafood, not here the oyster small and breading was soggy on the outside. Forget tasting oysters. The sides spoon bread was too greasy with butter, the green beans too salty, and coke slaw bland. The potato pie had horrible presentation, was too greasy as well. This isn't the original tasting food you would expect from the original owners so don't expect it, and I also noticed the parking lot had no one at the restaurant and it this was during lunch time hours.Sad to see a restaurant that was a seafood staple and people used to travel just to eat at the location across the city and meet and greet each other to catch up.

The fish is cooked to order so you get a nice hot crispy meal! It is seasoned very well! I got the catfish sandwich, crab cake sandwich (made fresh), and their fried shrimp. You can also control how crispy they cook it! Loved mine cooked hard so it's super crispy. Everything was amazing and I highly recommend getting their mash potato&gravy side or any of their veggie sides! It is very covid safe! Once you order your food they give you a number to place on your dash board of your car so you can wait relaxingly in your vehicle.**BEST SPOON BREAD IN THE CITY**

I believe ownership has changed and the experience was not great. Limited product dispaly and way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! overpriced. No place to eat ...only take out, Fish is soggy buy the time you got it home ....but wait,,,, no matter ..they give you cheap Sunbeam" type bread on your sandwich that soaks up the grease when you get home. No hoggie bun bread selection. The retail seasonings are a rip off...lightly seasoned flour with no distinctive flavor. Better to but Ardrys or other brands at the market that are less expensive. We ordered fresh shrimp as one item so we could grill ad when we got home we found they steamed our purchase? Difficult to communicate . No crabs...but if they do they are only around $50/doz....they can keep them. They show what you bought at the cash register ...no selection.

Great service, and the whiting for fixed to perfection. I had to attend an event at the last minute, so I had Stuart's to do the fish and hush puppies. Everything was fresh and packed nicely .Family enjoyed the fish and hush puppies tremendously.Thanks guys for doing such an awesome job!!
