Love the cute decore outside and inside very artistic! The waitress we're very nice and very attentive, but my dish I feels the dish over priced. I ordered the French scramble it was tasty, but could have added 1 more egg for the price you pay $13.50. You can't tell from the pic cause it's spread out. Other then that not to bad.

I met a friend for lunch here and was impressed! Great selection of breakfast/brunch/lunch foods. We sat at the bar and our server was a blast to talk to! She made lunch super fun. The art on the walls really brings the whole place together.Excited to return for some cozy and casual eats!

Starving Artist is a great brunch place in the ODU area. I tried the breakfast bowl that consisted of scrambled eggs, potatoes, spinach and Turkey sausage. However, you can build your own to your liking. Despite it being almost a full house, the food was served pretty quickly and our server check on us quite often. I must say, I was still left hungry after eating my dish that I ended up ordering their croissant French Toast. It exceeded my expectations and it's something I must have when I come back. The texture was perfect, where there was decent crunch and not too soft/soggy after applying syrup. The taste balance between the croissant and the toast was amazing. As an artist I do like that they actually have local art up for display and purchase. There's a duality of supporting local businesses within the establishment. The only negative I have, is that they were out of oatmilk. Other than that I highly suggest Starving Artist if you're in the area and looking for a good place to eat!

Went here for my birthday breakfast and I was very pleasantly surprised. The menu options available are fun and simple. They give a neat hot sauce that's not super hot - just full of a lot of flavor to add to your food. I really liked it and now that I think about it, I should've bought some before I left. Straight up, one of the best things I like about this place is the fact that the serving size was perfect. I know some may disagree but I really dislike getting a mountain of food for breakfast. I want higher quality and lower volume just to ensure I get something that's just amazing.Would definitely come back as I just enjoyed the whole experience. Food Taste: 5Overall Service: 5Value of food to cost: 5Facility: 5Ambiance: What a cute place. As expected, there's paintings for sale on the walls. It's a smaller, quaint place that played a great list of music that was a fun addition to the feel of the facility. Repeat customer: yesDog Friendly: no

Overall it was okay. It was nicely decorated inside. We parked on the street. They do have outside tables too. Service was fine and food was fine. It is not on my list to go back but I wouldn't be opposed to going here again either. My friend got the vegan hash not pictured and it looked more like a salad than a hash. The thing that surprised me is the burrito was just a burrito: no salsa, sour cream or a side. A side of potatoes, fruit, or salad would be nice. It just needed more. The $5 peach mimosa was fine. I'd prefer if the juice was made in house. I think everything could just be a little bit more.

Small and cute in atmosphere with a decent amount of seating given its size. Staff was friendly. I ordered a mimosa ($5= awesome price). I ate the Vegan Sausage "hash" which was really a salad, an overpriced salad for the small size that it was. My friends both got the Starving Artist Burritos. Both underwhelmed. All three of us left as Unsatisfied Artists.

The service was beyond spectacular !! Even with a full house and one server, she was sweet, kind , and super fast. The mimosas we really good. I recommend the peach pear. However, I would only come here for the ambiance because the food was not the best. I got biscuits and gravy, super watery, under seasoned, and honestly smelled a little weird. I had to drown it in hot sauce, salt and pepper. Also got croissant French toast and it was burnt and had a weird strawberry filling that tasted like nothing lol. The chorizo bowl was good tho. So 1/3 meals was a go lol.

I have been eating at SA since the Kim days, back to 2016. I only support local establishments. The last few times, my order was not correct. I gave it another chance as I enjoy the local vibe in the area. I always go for brunch which includes a Mimosa, they were $5 recently. This last visit, I was charged over $23 for 2 Mimosas. I would expect that in a fine dining restaurant. Their prices are much higher than what they should be for what you get as the food is ok but could be better in terms of taste.Sad to say, I will not be returning.Update: I had brunch at the Green Onion today and mimosas were four dollars each.
