This has to be one of the best haunted things/places I've been to in a long time! Even though they've been around for 29 years this was my first time going. They are located on the first Floor of MacArthur mall closest to the S1 parking near Dillard's. It's cash only. $20 per person. The side that has the huge spider and the brain exposed dummy is where you purchase tickets. As you leave you turn to the right and they have a corded off area to the wall where you wait in line. Someone will bring you into the Spooky Acres on the other side. Before doing so, they give you a quick briefing of what to expect. One employee will walk with you through the corridors the entire time. Don't worry, this doesn't deter you from getting scared nor does it negatively impact your experience. Honestly, I think it's more for safety reasons, because they can and will touch you! A good chunk of my fat roll on my left side was grabbed in the scare process. LMAO. Having someone guide you also allows you to pace your time while going through. You are informed that after a certain part, you will then be left to venture through a COMPLETELY dark maze to fend for yourself. Lights and cellphones are NOT PERMITTED for use to guide you. There is also mention of having to crawl through a tunnel. When my friend starts asking about the level of crawling involved, you realize you're not as young anymore. Are we talking about army crawl, bend down and crouch through the tunnel height? These are serious questions that need to be answered ;-) The answer to that question is, a hands and knees crawl is required, but it is carpeted/padded. We survived. The acting and props were above par and commitment was strong. We were legit full on screaming. My friend's son several times out screamed me and I thought he was going to hyperventilate. He was fine. To reiterate THEY WILL TOUCH OR GRAB YOU! So keep that in mind before purchasing tickets because there are no refunds. Also make sure if you're not a flight person (fight or flight response) that you keep your fight reactions in check. You DON'T want to inadvertently karate chop some poor kid for doing their job so well. It was a great time and I think we just about screamed all the stress out of ourselves. Great times with good friends!!

My husband and I decided to go on Sunday, only to find out they were closed. But that didn't stop us from returning the following weekend on a Saturday around 8 pm. It's a few doors down from MP's Island cafe, where the police seem to hang out. Maybe there is good food there. :) That being said, it's a very secure area and the parking lot is well lit with lots of parking available. So going at night is ok. Be prepared to wait about 45 mins to an hour in line. There are light snacks there, like chips, crackers and kit kats. So I would recommend eating something before going in. As for the fright factor... I would give spooky acres a 3.5 out of 5. The make up was grotesque and bloody. The actors were really into character. But it became a little predictable. I think this is awesome for kids, date night or just hanging out with friends. I'm glad we were able to visit this very popular attraction that gives a portion of the proceeds to an MS foundation. By the way, this is a full contact haunted attraction.

Pretty scary spook house. Some of the actresses screams are blood curdling. Terrifying monsters hidden in the walls of the house, you better watch where you walk. Witches casting black magic spells that go wrong. I don't want to ruin the surprise but the Doctor is in. Will you make it out of the maze? It's pitch black. The poor little girl in front of us had to be taken out of the house it was too scary for her she was about 8 years old. This place isn't really for the young ones. They do touch here. Not hard. They won't hurt you but they will grab you. And get real close to your face. Most of the guys in there are shirtless for some reason too. Whateves. This place gets better and better every year. Go early because the lines get long quick. We waited in line about 30 mins for a 10-15 min scare house.Worth checking out though!!! Oh yeah and wear some pants because you have to crawl your way through the maze at first!!!!

This place is absolutely awesome and worth every penny. Please go! It's located in the old Office Depot and it is the scariest haunted house I've been in. The actors actually grab you and get totally in your face. You crawl through a pitch black tunnel and feel your way through a spooky maze. It's best to go in twos. So much fun! Will definitely come back years to come and maybe even with friends in the coming weeks! Pass on the word!

This was the scariest haunted house I've been to. The people are actually allowed to grab you which adds to the scare factor. I loved every minute of it! So much awesome decoration and a great storyline. Great price too! Definitely going back next year!

I went this past weekend with my boyfriend and we both felt like it wasn't that scary. It started off well and I had high hopes. Granted, the actors do get to touch you, but for $20 a person they could put more detail in the costumes and the haunted house. It could also last a little longer. Everyone was really nice at the cash register, very bright and positive personas, which is always a plus! None the less, it was still fun.

This place is amazing if you are going to a haunt this year this is the one to go to. I have been to many many haunts and I can honestly say this is the in the top 2 I have ever seen. Lots of thought and detail are put into every room and every scream. Virginia beats out California in originality and in fear in this haunt. A+ job team
