Southern Packing has been in business for well over 30 years. I'm not sure exactly how long, but I remember passing them from the highway back in the late 80s. They still continue to sell top quality meats of all cuts and eggs. I picked up 2 cases of eggs for less than what 2 top distributors were selling them for. They were super nice enough to put the cases in my car. Every time I call they are super friendly on the phone.

Love the quality!... try the bacon and if you want fantastic burgers buy the fresh ground beef! Hard to go back to frozen burgers after :)

This place is a hidden treasure! If you live in the Hickory/Moyock area or close by it is well worth the drive. They have a giant selection of any meat you can think of, any cut you like, and down to an entire cow or pig. The prices are unbeatable! Being in the military and having Commisary access price matters and Southern Packing's prices are on point with the Commisary. Also the quality is unmatched! Prices change so no need posting them. But one great deal they do have that does not change is 30 eggs for $3.99 The costumer service is great! They are so nice and helpful you will forget you are in hampton roads. Every time my wife goes they offer to bring the meats to the car for her!If you don't shop here you are missing out!

Once you've experienced Southern Packing, you will understand why they've been in business for over 80 years. The prices are great and the staff is friendly and you cannot beat the quality of meat. The butcher shop is located in a remote area, but so worth the drive. Come stop by and see what they have. Your taste buds will thank you!

From the outside, one can make the assumption that Leatherface is in the back chopping up tourists on the way to the outerbanks but then I'd be pissed at the prices. Since the prices are reasonable, I bought 2 ribeyes and ate them for dinner. Pretty awesome, folks. Don't be scared. Just let someone know where you are going...

This place is phenomenal! I love their deals, friendly & knowledgeable staff & their selection is consistently fresh! I regret not being more carnivorous, but the price for a 10lb bag of chicken is hard to beat. I tend to get a bag of chicken, flat of eggs, some ground breakfast sausage, NY strip, some sausage links & get out the door for a very reasonable price. I love love love this place!!

Super friendly, great selection of meats, and cuts. They also sell sausage casings, eggs, cheese, sausages and ect. Great place!

Just Got These Sausages Today But Didn't Open Them Until I Got Home Which Is 30 Minutes Away. And Received These Molded Sausages Which Were Supposed To Be Fresh Coming From A Meat Shop.

Staff was super friendly. The meat is amazing and cheap. They have the best sausage I've tried in my life. Wish it was closer to me.
