I expected so much more. So I ordered the carne asada fries and it wasn't carne asada it was more like ground beef that certainly worth $12. My friend has the tacos and she said her tacos at home are better. Even the bowl was just ok. Definitely not representative of Puerto Rican food at all. How can the food be both salty and flavorless. They really need to work on their protein cause the base of delicious food.

I haven't had many "true" food truck experiences w/ real meals. Sure, I've had cupcakes and pizza (which was amazing and didn't realize it was food truck material at the time). This day I was fixated on food truck chasing so, I did and was very pleased. Four of my co-workers caught wind of my plans and followed suite. Not sure how location and placement are determined. This was a Thursday. Location was Lake Wright Drive tucked away in a GATED parking lot. I found out later all of my co-workers had difficulty finding food truck too but, still worth it! I ordered the Tripleta to go. It came with chips. I normally like VERY spicy food. This wasn't spicy but, I LOVVED IT! A lot of flavors and A LOT of TENDER meat! I'm thinking the tortillas had to be homemade as they were not like any tortilla I've ever had! THREE meats... Chicken, pork, and ham. The slaw was made perfect! Not too sweet nor too tangy. This dish was perfect! All of my co-workers were so happy with their dishes too! Two ordered the pernil & empanadas. Another ordered the Cubano. Now, I know I saw a pic of the Cubano w/ bread. This time it was served w/ a tortilla. My co-worker wished it was on bread too but, said it was still verrrrry good! Gotta stalk Sofrito more as there are other menu items I want to try! Kudos!!

I'm really excited about the food truck movement in Hampton Roads! Caught Sofrito while they were at one of the neighboring buildings in my office park a couple of weeks ago and was not disappointed.I had an Arroz con Pollo bowl, which was absolutely OUTSTANDING. The bowl can be misleading because it seems like it's small. But it is PACKED with food and it is delicious! Everything was fresh and flavorful. I couldn't even eat it all. That might have been because I started with an empanada. LOVED every bite of that as well! One of the best surprises, though, were the two fried plantains in the bowl. One of my faves! I also have to give them props for offering Mexican Coke! Seriously... it's the real thing. Will definitely be on the lookout for Sofrito for another great lunch!

I loved the idea of this food truck, but the food was extinct of the staple tastes often found in Puerto Rican/ Latin food. Where was the Mexican Mint, Cuban Oregano, Cilantro, Sazon, and most importantly, Sofrito...of which the establishment is named after? I wanted to sample a little of everything so I ordered the chicken tacos, and a pork filled empanada. The tacos had little, if any taste! Same with the empanada; the shredded chicken on the taco tasted identical to the pork. The Cubano sandwich, ordered by my wife, was a bit more tasty, and the bread was ideal for a typical Cubano. This came with a side of Plantains, which were ok, but nothing to rave about. Step it up Sofrito! I'll be back!

Puerto Rican food's on the move with Sofrito.Having tried them twice now, I'd say it's hit or miss. Once, the Cubano wasn't really toasted and super greasy, but the pork had a lot of flavor and was tender. Recently, it was seemingly the perfect panini; however, the crunch was there but the pork was bland and got stuck in my teeth. Other menu items include: the ranchero, which is a panini with honey turkey, chipotle mayo, queso cheese, ranch, and applewood bacon. They serve the sandwiches with plantains (which are solidly good), rice and beans (hatedit), or chips. They also have traditional rice bowls, empanadas, tacos, and chicken tortilla stew. This was my first time trying Puerto Rican cuisine, so I don't know how right it is. But I will definitely re-visit this food truck when they're on my block.

I ordered a Cubano and it was good-although didn't knock my socks off like I was hoping. It came with a friend plantain and I have to say that was definitely delicious. Will probably try an empanadas next time.

Not bad for my first "Virginia Beach food truck experience." Not 100% what I expected, but it'll definitely do.We went to this event called "Eat the Streets 757", which happens the third Tuesday of every month at the Virginia Beach MOCA, right near the oceanfront. A handful of food trucks gather, and you get your food, and enter the museum, and in the big (pretty) lobby, there are tables set up for folks to sit down and eat at, and there's also a band playing. We both chose to order from Sofrito - everything on the menu looked awesome!I had the Cubano - Cuban sandwich (pork, ham, mustard, pickles - pressed sandwich) and for my side - rice and beans with bits of potato in it!) That was probably my favorite part of the meal, my side. The sandwich wasn't bad either. My boyfriend was a bit disappointed with his Tripleta Burrito ("Three meat monster filled with pork, ham, chicken, queso blanco, crisp potato sticks, cabbage & tripleta sauce.") He said it wasn't hot enough, and I agreed after having a bite, and also thought it lacked seasoning. For his mac & cheese side, we both agreed that it tasted like they forgot the cheese! It even looked like "plain, just cooked, noodles!" I give it a 3 because of my order; for his, I'll let him review/rate it on his own. :) Again, I totally loved the rice & beans!

I hardly ever rate a FIVE star! This food truck is everything I have been looking for in VA. The line at the festival moved pretty quick and they take all forms of payment. The food is super favored and decent-size portions considering you are ordering from a food truck. I absolutely love Spanish food and I was impressed with the food and service.

I didn't want to give this food truck 1 star because I love the concept of food trucks. But these were the worst tacos I've ever had. I love Hispanic food and tacos to be specific and these were thrown together in 30 seconds. They advertised using corn tortillas & sofrito seasoning and made them using flower tortillas & zero seasoning, they were made with $0.02 lettuce & picante salsa that you get in a jar. I paid $12 for 3 tacos and literally went back to the food truck after leaving the festival just to get tacos and I could have gotten better seasoned food from Taco Bell. The food reflected that of the people working there, they hate their job and it shows in the food unfortunately. Would not recommend if given the option for something else. If they updated their recipe I would 100% try them again but these tacos are made in the cheapest way possible just to make a profit.

Every Thursday we have different food trucks come to our work site in Chesapeake. By far this was the worst truck to come. I had 2 beef tacos an a chicken bowl. The taco was cold the chicken in the bowl tasted spoiled. It only took 5 seconds for my meal. No carry out trays took my food uncovered. I'm upset I wasted my lunch time an my money. I make tacos at home better then this crap. Salsa came from the jar no authentic what so ever! Threw the whole meal away. Please don't come back this was a complete rip off!!
