Smithfield Station

We had a great stay here in the Bob Timberlake cottage along the marina. It is a beautiful location with a lovely waterfront view of the boats. The cottage itself is well appointed with a coffee maker, mini fridge, microwave, and hair dryer. The decor is nautical with lots of wood details. Our only issue was the humidity in the room left the bed linens feeling a tad damp when we returned to the room at the end of the day. There is a coffee bar where you check in and a continental breakfast is included in the morning that had juices, coffee l, cereal l, pastries, eggs, bacon and pancakes.Would stay here again!

The air conditioner works great if you're standing right in front of it. But the rest of the room is hot. We left in the middle of the night because it was so hot. The temperature was set to 66 and it was miserable except for in front of it.

Myself and my boyfriend have frequented this spot for a while now. Ms. Pat is our favorite bartender. But all of the staff is wonderful. The drinks are wonderful but the food isn't as wonderful as it used to be. The food here has nothing special to it. At least I say that about the lunch and dinner menu. Now the Sunday morning brunch buffet, That is something you must experience. Made to order omelets and all of the sides and fixings you can imagine for breakfast. The bathrooms, even when the restaurant is crowded, are always nice and clean and well stocked. If something is empty the staff is quick to remedy the situation. All in all if you're in the area try it but there are tastier and cheaper places in the area. Just fyi

The view is everything!! I was a little disappointed in the dish I ordered because it was overrated. I ordered the Lasagna dish which was mostly cheese and not a lot of seafood and I don't recall there being much at all. The service was okay but with it being as hot as it was, we had to continue asking for water service. The fries came out cold and I ordered a drink that I didn't like and our waitress quickly took care of those issues for us. The view is absolutely amazing, especially at sun-down!!

Heard great things about Smithfield Station and tried it for a special occasion. Beautiful views, great service, delicious food. Will be back as there are many more dishes to try.

Excellent service, great location, and phenomenal Oyster Rockefeller, ham sweet potato biscuits (ham rolls), flounder sandwich, and bourbon street chicken. the flounder was fresh and fried to perfection. The bourbon St chicken was well seasoned and large enough for two. the Oyster Rockefeller was just amazing with the bacon, spinach, and fresh oysters.

The only reason that I'm giving two stars is because the staff is excellent. They are so attentive and kind. Excellent service. We have tried Smithville Station a handful of times and I can honestly say that the food has gotten worse. The quality of the food is poor. As we can all expect the prices have gone up. But to pay for fish that is Costco reheated fish, Costco scallops about six or seven for $18, meatballs that have been defrosted. We love the staff and the location however until major changes are made we will spend our money at another restaurant.

We were excited for this stay, but that waned quicklyPositive: it's a replica lighthouse, has a jacuzzi tub and room service from a decent restaurant is available. There is also a marina there if needed. You're not far from the James River bridge and most anything else in the Hampton Roads area.Negative: this is an expensive place to stay, especially on weekends; once you're past that, it expressly says "children are not permitted for overnight accommodations in this suite"......lies. We spent both nights up at random times due to a very unhappy infant (who wasn't supposed to be there in the first place). My other half was met with low grade hostility from the front desk staff the next morning when she brought it up.That pretty much killed us recommending it to other people or most likely coming back ourselves.

We stayed here for the second time. The 1st time the 3rd floor King with oversized shower. The second time with a jacuzzi tub. Problem was the tub was way too small. I'm a bit taller and it was too short for me. Views are pretty, staff friendly. The balcony was very nice. The bed wasn't very comfy. Room was clean and spacious. My only knock is the CONSTANT air fragrance being blown in the lobby. We both have asthma/allergies. It gave us a headache. It gave my husband a runny nose. Not everyone can handle smells. When we checked out their were two infusers going. The smell seems to travel everywhere, on the towels, elevator.

Very nice hotel, clean and great food. I had the pleasure of visiting with Marcie, she was so sweet and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Smithfield.
