"I like good strong words that mean something..." ― Louisa May Alcott, Little WomenI was extremely excited when I found out that Smithfield Little Theater (SLT) was going to perform Little Women: the Musical in 2016. Little Women has always been one of my favorite books, and going to the theater was part of my childhood and early adult. It had been a while for me until today and here are my thoughts on SLT.SLT started back in 1962 as a group of individuals who had worked children's theater. Its shows, starting with "The Cat and the Canary," took place in other locations until they built a new theater in 2001.SLT is a small theater in a quaint town, but there is nothing small about it. I was impressed with the theater, their professionalism, and the end product of the show. From the set to the lights, and especially the cast, everything and everyone was on point. SLT is an all-volunteer organization, which impresses me even more. Smithfield is lucky to have such an amazing theater, and I was lucky to have been one of those in the audience today. Thank you everyone at SLT. You brought to life my favorite story--one that Alcott created with such a strong female character. Kudos to you both!

Hopped by this theater once again to take in an amazing show put on by their Summer Kids Theater Crew....LOVED IT!!! The Directors and Staff work so lovingly and painstakingly to put out great shows at prices you can afford. These quality shows are not only thoroughly enjoyed by their local community, but by the surrounding cities which can quickly lead to shows selling out pretty quickly due to how small this actual theater is. So please, plan in advance and buy your tickets prior to the show (and before they sell out online). My niece and nephew were in this particular show, and though I am sure I am a little biased, I loved that they embraced the different children's personalities and talents rather then trying to make them fit some cookie cutter mold of what they think a person should look like, talk like, be like.....it was simply beautiful that they encouraged these children's differences, and let them shine in their own special ways....such a beautiful thing to see for sure!Thank you Smithfield Theater Staff for the many hours of your time and life to make this theater AWESOME, and these shows simply wonderful! I am so impressed by what your putting out, and look forward to the next show! You guys are amazing, and appreciate all that each one of you does to make this theater such a gem! This crew of kids did an incredible job, and know my niece an nephew LOVED theater camp and doing the show, and are already looking forward to next summer's camp :)

Visited the Smithfield Little Theatre to support my cousin in a play that she had a lead role in. Refreshments were served and the staff were welcoming. I would definitely go back again to see another play.
