After visiting the u-pick strawberry fields we were hungry and wanted to explore downtown. On the way in someone leaving said they were out of burgers and I thought he was kidding but he wasn't, they'd been so busy they ran out but that didn't matter there was a large menu to choose from Ordered: Fried Green tomatoe caprese salad Loaded fries Grilled cheese and chips Shrimp wrapWe also noticed how large the muffins were before we sat down and decided we'd need to get some to go they're like mini cakesOrdered Lemon cream cheese Apple CinnamonThey were short staffed and we were at the end of the lunch rush so worked out just fineParking on the street it we found a lot and probably lucked out being later in the day

Came back here to grab a few goodies to go and this place is still just as yummy as last year when I visited! This time I was able to try the following new items to me: Loaf of Sourdough bread-yum! So far have made French toast and regular toast with it and it is great! Cinnamon Roll-exactly what a cinnamon roll should be! Great flavor and good ratio of icing! Also had the delicious chocolate chip icing cookie again and it was just as delicious as before! Need to come here for lunch again soon!

I love small town jewels. Greeted upon entering. Seated quickly on an early Sunday morning. The food was great. I had the chicken salad on focaccia bread. I look forward to trying a baked good on my next visit. Highly recommend.

Went for lunch with my mom. The service was good. The club sandwich was delicious. My mother really enjoyed the pastrami. Wish I had room for dessert but I will be back.

Affordable breakfast for the whole family!!We rarely get to Smithfield, but when we do we grab breakfast here! The portions are affordable and just right for breakfast before walking around the farmers market. The seating is well thought out and split up in a way where there aren't too many people in the same space as you!The food is basic breakfast food, but the bakery is where elegance meets baked goods! They have all the delicious baked goods you could ever want! The service is great, and you always feel like family!

We had only a 5 minute stop at this bakery but it was going to tell the whole story of what a great bakery this is. My cousins and I got 6 cookies (for the price of 4): peanut butter, molasses, snickerdoodle... can't remember all - but our palates remember how these cookies just melt in your mouth with cookie goodness! We also bought a quarter of the rum cake - yummy. Not to mention - pretty nice spacious (not for sitting but for watching them bake!) space. Will definitely go back to try their cakes and sandwiches!

If you haven't just spent a day wandering down Main Street in the old-market area of Smithfield, you're really missing out. It's quaint and charming, with tons of little shops and eateries. I was in the area a few times recently and stopped into Smithfield Gourmet Bakery and Cafe several times. On my first visit, I sat down for breakfast - yummy, home-cooked food with little pretentiousness. In terms of brunch eats, very solid. But where this place really wins is their bakery. SO many varieties of fresh baked bread, muffins, pastries, pies, etc. - and every single one I've sampled has been delicious. The tomato basil bread makes the BEST grilled cheese on a rainy day. The honey almond is delightful for breakfast fare like french toast. The muffins are as big as your head and OH SO GOOD - the cherry crumb and Boston cream stand out in particular. On Saturdays (I don't think it's every Saturday - but check their schedule), there is a farmer's market nearby and lots of places have open spaces and samples. You can just wander and shop and enjoy the beautiful weather. Really, really lovely. I hope to spend more time in this area soon!

My first time in Smithfield and had breakfast at the bakery. I had an omelet breakfast and it was fluffy and delicious. Great staff and neat place to eat.

This is a lovely little cafe in Smithfield. We came first thing on a Saturday morning right when the cafe opened and were seated right away. Our server was friendly and helpful. Food was very reasonably priced and portions were good. I had the French toast and just wish it wasn't made with almond bread as I'm not a big fan of almonds. The only downside to the restaurant was the flickering ceiling lights. It was quite distracting and annoying that they flickered every time the ceiling fan circled round them.

We called to see if they were taking reservations on Mother's Day and they said no! When we got to the restaurant the first thing they asked us is if we had a reservation. Then the staff didn't ask us for a name or phone number or anything. Then the staff acted irritated when we were standing in the tiny foyer waiting our turn. And the manager was very rude!
