One of the best burgers I have had. If you like Five Guys, this is a lot better. Very well seasoned burgers & handmade boardwalk fries is the way to go!!

I'm no stranger to getting smashed. I've been getting smashed since 2021. When I frequent a day trip to Cape Charles I always hit up Smashers Burgers and Fries.I had the opportunity to finally get smashed at their brick and mortar location near the Norfolk Outlets. My go to order is a single smasher with grilled onions, smasher sauce, pickles, mayo, lettuce, extra cheese with fries. The burger has great flavor and was cooked to perfection. The bun is so soft, yet there is a wonderful crisp to it, as they toast it in the grill. Tonight I also ordered a hot dog. I love that it is sliced down the middle. I kept it very typical 4th of July, ketchup and mustard. I love that the bun was also toasted. The hotdog was simple, but packed good flavor. I love the look in the inside. A simple take on how it started, a food truck look. There is about 11 tables to sit at. Parking is plentiful. Service was good. Questions were asked. Orders came out fairly quick as they are made to order. The only thing missing was the clacking seagulls, the sounds of waves and the sand beneath my seat. My only complaint was the condiment bar was missing napkins, and my fries were overcooked to my liking. But, that's nothing worth taking a star away. I do think napkins could be on the table, and a dispenser for ketchup instead of packets would be better.

It was my first time here and it didn't disappoint. The burger and fries were really good. I ordered the single smasher and added on the fry and drink combo. I loved the grilled onions and smasher sauce. Everything tasted fresh. The service was good. My only concern is that the cashier didn't know what was in the smasher sauce. However, they asked someone else. The seating was plentiful.

4/5 stars overall. Friendly counter service, straightforward menu boasting angus beef burgers and cheesesteak, fairly clean dining room, bottle sodas or serve yourself soda fountain, and groovy tunes that make your head bob and feet tap during the modest wait. Seems like a small food truck operation in brick n mortar operation close to Norfolk outlets. While burgers were hot and greasy the way my son and I like them, this is a higher priced Cook Out with angus ingredients. $8 single patty smashburger, +$3/ea subsequent patty. An $11 double cheeseburger price-point that's not 1/4 lb+ and omits a side or drink dissuades my large family from making regular visits.

Counter service with a smile!! What went well you ask! EVERYTHING went well! Great location, the restaurant was clean, and inviting! The Smashers team is very friendly, and nice! I ordered a traditional smasher with no cheese, called a single smasher. It was cooked to perfection. It was super tasty. The sauce was really good. I also ordered up order of French fries, their fresh cut shoestring fries they were crispy they were perfectly cooked as well. I would definitely suggest eating your french fries first as they taste the best when they are very hot. I was with two other friends. They both ordered the same exact thing. The only difference is one of my friends ordered the double smasher, which is two burgers everybody at my table enjoy their food. We all agreed that it tasted so good that we will be coming back for a visit. Hopefully next time I'll have room to try a milkshake. Again this is a must try if you haven't!! We definitely will be back soon!!

Came to Smashers Tuesday night after the outlets, one hour before closing. Not too much of a crowd when we walked in, but many people came in after we arrived. The person who took our order was pleasant and upbeat and not running on fumes with closing being around the corner. Husband ordered a double burger and fries and I ordered a single burger and fries, both with bacon. We also ordered a vanilla and a cookie milkshake. Food came out very quick, not greasy at all. The fries were to die for. These were homemade shoe string fries. The fries were the star of the show for me. The burger was great, but the fries were amazing. Shakes came out fast as well. Not overtly sweet, just natural ice cream, no additives. The best part is not feeling icky or like I need to use the bathroom afterwards. I will be back with the kids.

My wife and I just tried Smashers and it was GREAT! My wife went with the single Smasher burger and I went with the Original Smasher! We also got milkshakes one chocolate and vanilla and one strawberry milkshake. I have to say it was all delicious and the burgers with Smashers sauce is amazing. We loved we could pick our toppings including jalapeños and the fries ARE ADDICTIVE! This place is right off North Hampton BLVD by the Norfolk Outlets next to Chick-fil-A so it easy to get to. The service is SUPER FAST and the staff is very friendly. The Ambiance is amazing as well it is a nice burger spot to sit and enjoy your meal with your family or a nice little lunch or dinner. We will definitely be back soon 5 out of 5 stars!

"See, they're McDonald's. I'm McDowell's." #ComingtoAmericaI visited Smashers for the first time on 9/25/24 for dinner. They took over the Fatburger and (before that) Burger IM spot. I was curious about Smashers' food, and upon entering, it had the look and feel of a Five Guys. Smashers looks to keep things simple - you order at the counter, pay, and you pick up your food at an adjacent window when your name's called. There are roughly 10-12 tables (including booths), a soda fountain with accompanying plastic utensils, and condiments. In staying with this suite's setup, there is no drive-thru (but takeout is available). The interior is simple - just an open dining area with red and white paint on the walls. The only thing missing were huge sacks of potatoes. When I ordered, I was helped by a kind young man who was training. A manager was standing right beside him, observing and allowing the trainee to "steer." Both were nice, and my transaction with them was quick and easy. I waited a few minutes for my food - Original Smasher (double burger with American, lettuce, tomato, grilled onions and 'smasher sauce'), fries with no salt and a fountain soda. My food was ready, they called my name, and we realized the dude at the register didn't provide my cup for the soda. I had to wait a second for that, but that wasn't a big deal. What turned out to be a minor issue was there didn't seem to be any napkins in the house. At the soda fountain, they had a few condiments and some plastic utensils - no napkins. So, I went back to the window where I picked up my food and asked them for napkins. The kid who gave me my food replied, "We don't have any, but there should be some over there," pointing at the soda fountain. Me, "Yeah, you don't have any there, that's why I'm asking you." "Okay, cool," was the reply to that, so either they were completely out of napkins or no one had the wherewithal to actually provide napkins. Either way, I don't understand how a business is out, considering it's a non-perishable item. Whatever. Moving over to the food - the Original Smasher was decent. I personally don't think it's better than 5 Guys, but it'll do the job. I liked the fries more than the burger, so there's that. Smashers' price points are less expensive than 5 Guys, but I still ponied up $20+ for a burger, fries, drink, and tip. Overall, my inaugural visit to Smashers was fine. Personally, this is more a 3.5 experience, but I tend to round up, especially since one of the employees randomly walked up to me to explain the menu right after I walked in (he strolled up and chatted with me, 100% Norfolk vibe - I appreciated that, haha). Thank you, Smashers! JV

Manolo and Javiar. Aura. Let's just say as soon as I walked in I could feel their presence behind the counter, ready and eager to take and make my order. My fries and milkshake were perfected to the most minute detail. I thoroughly enjoyed the extra creamy milkshake that made me feel extra fuzzy inside. I will be coming back every Tuesday at 4:27 pm. Thank you.
