Smartmouth Brewing Company -Pilot House

Located in a former US postal service processing facility, this little brewery has a unique feel and offers a great place for large groups. There is a very respectable selection of brews, including in-house and other local brands.And of course if you're drinking beer, there's nothing better than having some pizza with it. They have an on-site pizza oven cranking out delicious little Neapolitan style pizzas. The staff is great and they have live music.

Stopped in to Smartmouth Brewing's Pilot House to try their new Mind Your Nanners brew and it was absolutely delicious. It was tart and had the perfect hint of strawberry and banana. We grabbed a Honey Hot Pizza from Bakehouse Pizza and grabbed a table by the window. This place has a great atmosphere! It's an open setting with plenty of seating and windows to see right into the brewing area. The bar has both draft and cans available for purchase and there are so many delicious beers to try! It's spacious and open and so welcoming. There are always lots of people when we stop in, but never a shortage of seats! The staff are fantastic! They are friendly and attentive and always willing to let you sample a beer prior to committing to purchase a particular flavor - which is really nice. They have so many varieties of beer and the pizza was hot, crispy and cooked to perfection. We will for sure be stopping back in! I love breweries that have so many options on tap that I have a hard time choosing - it means there's something for every taste! This is a very inviting spot, but parking is limited so I would recommend to park offsite and walk. There are metered spots in addition to the small lot so you can park close by if you're prepared to pay.We stopped in on a recent Sunday and sat outdoors. I appreciate that all of their outdoor seating (north-facing) is covered, so plenty of shade all day long! There were beertenders frequenting the tables to collect empty glasses and clean. Everyone we met was so friendly and hospitable. That made our visit even better. We also indulged in a couple of Bakehouse pizzas. I LOVE wood-fired pizzas. It's a taste that can't be duplicated in a traditional oven. We tried the Bacon Gouda and Margherita Rustica pies. Both were incredibly delicious. They are a little on the pricey side, but certainly worth a treat now and then. Overall, a top brewery pick in the city of VB. There's no doubt we'll be back.

Stopped by because the ratings were good. Looked likes lots of draft beer, western style ambiance. Can't really rank this place because they stop serving pizza at 9pm! Even though it's advertised as open until 22:00. Drats! Really wanted to try this place

The bacon, Gouda, & onion pizza was delish and the hummus was the best I have had from a restaurant in years.

Love this brewery!!! There's so many beer choices and the space is huge. I love the indoor/outdoor vibe and you're able to sit outside too when the weather is nice. The big open space is great. They also have different food trucks available to grab some food. We grabbed a beer at the bar and the kids grabbed a game to play with. We also grabbed some tacos from the salty cactus food truck. I hope they are there often cause they had some really good tacos, the meats were really flavorful. The beer itself is always good. There so many choices you can't go wrong. You can also try a small sample before ordering your full glass. The bartenders are really knowledgeable and friendly. This will be one of our regulars for breweries!

Not many breweries have a wood fired pizza oven! Smartmouth has a large variety of beers to choose from and offers a variety of social gatherings per week, including trivia and run clubs! The maps address may take you a street over, but if you go one street north you'll find plenty of parking in their lot.

I'm disappointed that Smartmouth no longer provides their product to other distributors for sale. I used to buy at Total Wine, however, they told me Smartmouth has decided to drive business to their locations exclusively, obviously for addional revenue. I enjoyed their products however, they're out of the way for me now. So long, not so Smart (mouth).
