Slideways Bistro

Slideways' truck is one of several that alternates lunches at Riverfront Plaza. They were on-site last week and my manager purchased their combo platter. I peered from afar in envy, but I had brought my lunch so I resisted a purchase of my own.My self-control​ wasn't quite as strong today. I had brought my lunch again, but Slideways was announced as a last-minute replacement for a different truck. I couldn't resist after reading through their menu.I purchased the combo platter, which came with a drink, hand-cut crispy fries, and the choice of mix/matched sliders. I selected the grilled chicken bacon ranch and the barbecue bacon cheddar beef.The food appeared to be made to order, as it took maybe 10-15 minutes to receive. My estimate could be off, though, since it was frigid and windy outside so time felt extra long!Both sliders were really tasty, but I leaned toward the beef as my preference. The beef was cooked a perfect medium and wasn't dry at all. The chicken was good but kind of basic.The fries were probably the best part. They were seriously delicious! I could eat those daily.My total was $14 after tax/tip, which is on the higher side but not too crazy for the quality and heartiness of the food. I'd definitely order again in the future.

Pretty darn good food truck food! Our neighborhood has been scheduling food trucks or restaurants that will deliver lots of orders over the Covid-19 pandemic and they were a hit. Order online and just pickup in a designated spot outside a person's house in the neighborhood who coordinated this.Just ordered a few beef burgers (3 all American and one BBQ bacon) and one chicken bacon ranch (without ranch) along with large orders of fries and tater tots and cheese fries (those are not a large order - which is probably half the large size).Daughter didn't like the chicken (bit did the bacon) - I think she really was expecting a breaded chicken but it was grilled instead; I ate it instead and it was good and flavorful. I ate half an all-american (cheese and pickle slice) and BBQ (sauce) bacon burger - the burgers were perfectly cooked and the burgers were just the right level of buttered and grilled/cooked. One slider will not be enough unless you do order a handful of sides (or you have younger kids)...tThey did offer a special that included I think 2 sliders, fries and a drink (or something like that)... unfortunately I don't see it on their site to online order but it was shown on their truck when I arrived to pickup my order. I was a bit disappointed though because I requested "extra crispy" for all the fries and tots and they definitely weren't - that said they were fresh cut and tasty just not as we like it being very crispy.

These guys were representing at my sons after school event. I had the All American and the Blue Slider. Came as a combo with. Hand cut fries and a beverage for $11.00. The All American was on point. The Blue had a powerful punch. Fries were great. I would eat here again for sure. Check them out!

We attended an event where this was the food truck onsite. My wife and I both got an all American and Jamaican Jerk chicken slider as well as fries. Both of the sliders were very good and the toasted buttered dinner roll used as the slider bun was awesome. The Jamaican slider came with a pineapple and chili aioli sauce and tasted great. The chicken was tender and had a small hint of spice. The fries were ample and did not require ketchup. The pineapple could have shined through a little bit more. It would be nice to have a diet soda option like Coke Zero or Diet Dr. Pepper instead of just Diet Coke. We both would order from here again so that is definitely a good sign. It was so good my wife has decided to try to replicate the slider this weekend for dinner. Hopefully she can come close!

Two and a half stars. Wait was reasonable, portioning is conservative for a moderate appetite. Good crispy fries, not good sliders. The buns and pineapple ring were grilled nicely and the bacon was well-rendered, but the star of the show was the real letdown: the jerk chicken and beef patties were thin and devoid of moisture after getting overcooked.

Good, simple, tasty burgers made fast and fresh.Came here while they were at the Hardywood brewery. The buns are the doughy small ones that are a bit sweet and delicious--if terrible for you. The burgers are nice and juicy without falling apart. The toppings are good, but not quite enough to cause each burger to stand out the way you might hope. We got one of every beef burger and they were all good. I liked the black and blue burger, but that's because I always love those. My son devoured his all american burger and the rest were yummy. The barbecue burger was probably the most disappointing just because the sauce was sweet and tangy without being spicy.Still, yummy, fast, great truck food.

First time trying this truck's fare and admit it was a mighty tasty slider. Two of 'em, in fact! Jamaican Jerk chicken & Buffalo Chicken with blue cheese. The chicken was tender and full of flavor from the seasoning. The bun was charred on the edges perfectly!I do not tip at food trucks without trying their food first. I will tip next time and hope that next time is soon.

Really awesome sliders! My job was hosting a party last week, and they brought the Slideways truck for the employees. The food was cooked relatively fast [especially for the amount of people they were serving], and everything was super fresh and delicious. The employees were so friendly and courteous! A huge plus.I ordered a Black and Blue slider, and a Chicken Bacon Ranch slider, which were served with fries. Black and Blue was top notch; the burger had a nice char and the blue cheese wasn't overwhelming. The chicken slider was also good, but I was surprised it was made with thigh meat instead of breast meat. Definitely not a bad thing! Just different. The fries were crispy and very tasty. The bread they used for the sliders were also amazing; it was buttery and perfectly toasted. Every element of these sliders were on point!If Slideways is ever in the neighborhood again, I'll be sure to stop by for that Black and Blue slider. Great experience all around.

I visited this food truck in the lot next to MCV/the state capitol. I got the Jerk Chicken with the homemade jerk sauce and pineapple slice. It was SO GOOD!!! They have this wonderful jerk sauce concoction that's cinnamonny and spicy that goes perfectly with the sweetness of the pineapple on a toasted bun. The meat itself was really tender and juicy, and all for $4!The service was EXCELLENT! When they almost ran out of this [probably crack-containing] jerk sauce, the guy told me they wouldn't be able to get me a slider. After I told him how hungry I was, he said he would give me one and only charged me $2, with a free water on top.Top notch service and excellent, delicious, cheap food. Will definitely be returning soon!

The service, food and presentation was great!! They came to our work event! I highly recommend.
