My husband and I went out to skinquarter farm for the pumpkin patch and were impressed. The pumpkin patch doesn't have an entrance fee. There are a bunch of pumpkins to choose from and we had both mentioned that they were some of the best pumpkins we've seen. They have a hayride, corn maze, plenty of photo opportunities and cute little wagons for your pumpkins. The market there is cool to look around and has great produce. Also, if you're there you have to try Jimmers for soft serve - it's amazing. Just, heads up it's cash only.

Don't tell anyone that this is the best farmer's market in the RVA. I don't want it getting overrun with customers! There is plenty of selection on a wide variety of produce, frozen meats, and jams, jellies, butter, and cheeses. Customer service is available, and the front end staff makes checking out a breeze. Plenty of room in the aisles. Shopping carts are available, and there is plenty of parking. Great seasonal things to do like a pumpkin patch, corn maze, hay rides, and an ice cream vendor on site. Items are very reasonably priced and the meat selection, which includes bacon, pork chops, hamburger, steaks, and other meats is wonderful and inexpensive (no middle man to jack up prices). Highly recommend coming here. Just be sure to check hours since it is not open all year long.

Got their strawberries and didn't think they were as good as some grown locally, but they were still tasty! The soft ice cream was a real treat, and I liked that they had some baked goods from Montana Bread. Bought some ground beef thinking it was farm raised (based on the cost being double of a grocery store), but I should have asked. It was just mediocre. AND, even though it's not Fall, I have to say this place is the BOMB for Fall! They have a pumpkin patch, hayrides, and lots of fun activities.

Local produce. This market has a wide variety of fruits and veggies to make any meal complete. The prices are reasonable and the goodies are simply more fresh than what's found in the retail stores.

This is a really nice fresh, local (for the most part) farm market. I picked up some beautiful, fresh local tomatoes and peaches today, along with some fig jam and corn relish from an Amish brand out of Ohio. I haven't tasted the tomatoes and peaches yet, but the jam and corn relish are amazing. I wanted to try some of the meat, but I don't really eat a lot of meat in the first place, so I passed. They had some that were hormone and antibiotic-free, which was cool. Kinda regretting not getting some.A little on the expensive side.

Limited but quality selection of produce, dairy, meat, and bakery goods. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. No frills. In-season produce is fresh, ripe, and mostly local. Baked products from local companies. Best during peach and tomato season. Melons are always good. Some heirloom varieties available for tomatoes and melons. White peaches in season.

I just discovered this farmers market earlier this year and I'm so happy I did. It's a large farmers market with plenty of parking adjacent to much of the farmland or some of their products are grown. Food is fresh, organized, and at very good prices. I've mainly only experienced the market during the spring and summer so I can't yet comment on the benefits of visiting they are during the fall and winter but they seem prepared for cold weather and do offer refrigerated amenities that safely store eggs, cheese, and other products that require refrigeration which I expect helps them keep going during the off season. From my experience there's usually a handful of teenagers and young people working the register though they have been very friendly and acknowledging to anyone who had a question or needed help. Earlier this year I got fresh corn on the cob, tomatoes, white peaches, and some other things that at exceptionally competitive (if not unbeatable) prices.
