Simply Steamed

Great hidden gem! Their food was so delicious! The crab cake sandwich was full of meat and seasoned so well, not fishy at all, and the salmon blt was great. We also got the shecrab soup and the lumps of crab in it is insane! Full of meat! You get a side of chips with most meals and they have a big variety to choose from. Friendly staff, quick service. We will be back :)

When we arrived at the beach the afternoon of 07SEP2024, we wanted something to eat that was near us. The closest place we found was Simply Steamed. The service was fast to prepare our two orders of scallop tacos and she crab soup. We were expecting the scallops to be warm, but the chilled scallops with the sweet salsa were a good combination. The she crab soup was thick and tasty. Because of the size of the restaurant, their menu was limited, which was the only negative.

I am "simply impressed" with the quality of food service and options that Simply Steamed provides. I have only used Simply Steamed for take out meals.I own a vacation home in Sandbridge and Simply Steamed is one of my go-to places for take out seafood. They offer a variety of seafood that is ready to serve and other steamed pot variety options that have seasonings and everything you need to cook at your beach house when you are ready. The steamed pots are great for large family gatherings. Ready to serve seafood entrees and appetizers are flavorful and cooked perfectly. You can use them as a meal or to round out your menu.In the shop, SS has great choices of wines to go with your dinner. The staff at Simply Steamed are friendly, helpful and give great guidance on selections and portions for your group. Desserts are available but they go quickly. If you are so inclined, SS offers a great selection of cigars to finish off the experience.I highly recommend Simply Steamed. We return regularly.

Wow! Best She Crab I ever ate ! Great shrimp tacos too ! Such a great small town vibe with everything cooked from scratch.

Simply The Best! Simply Steamed is the perfect beach dinner! Place your order in the afternoon and pick up at your specified time for dinner! Our group of 7 feasted on steamed shrimp, clams, and crab legs with melted butter and delicious cocktail sauce. You can't go wrong with this seafood crowdpleaser when in Sandbridge!

Ok. I'm so sorry we didn't try this place earlier. We were at the beach with three other families. Placed three different pickup orders. And they were all amazing and ready within 30 min. On our group we got mini crab cakes, club sandwiches, hot dogs, salmon BLT, the regular BLT and the Lobster salad. Everyone was really impressed and enjoyed their food. Not super expensive, and definitely good quality. Definitely will be back.

This was a really easy review. Hands down the best take out I have had in years and a fantastic business beach food model. First, the business model is fantastic. You get to pick from a variety of steamer pots with different assortments of seafood. You simply add 8 ounces of fluid, poke four holes in the top, and then cook on the stovetop for about 35 minutes. The pots are disposable, but also substantial. You simply throw the pot away after throwing all the shells and scraps in.The second part of this review is the food. It was awesome!!! We did two pots (coastal and hard shell). Both had great assortments of food that cooked up tremendously. We had crab claws, legs, oysters, clams, mussels, crawfish, shrimp, potatoes, and corn on the cobb. Oh yeah, mu daughter had their She Crab Soup and it was unbelievable also. If ever in Virginia Beach or Sandbridge, this is a must do!

An afternoon at Sandbridge Beach in the late Fall was a perfect opportunity to try Simply Steamed. Located in the Sandbridge Shoppes, Steamed is best known for their steamed crab pots. They come in a variety of six pots. Choose from lobster, muscles, shrimp, crab, clams and even sausage. They feed 4 and it's literally a party in a can.The shop is tiny with two tables. It's primary business model is take out. There are a few table on their front deck. They have bottle and can beer in an upright cooler. The selection was better than average for a craft beer drinker, so yeah! My order. Crab Cake Sandwich / lettuce, tomato and house made sauce on top. HUGE & scrumptious! Paired w/ a Bells Oberon Pale Wheat Ale on their outdoor front deck. The owner Walt took good care of me and was fantastic! Simply Steamed is open with adjusted ours in off season. They will also deliver and cater your event. Thanks for the hospitality Walt & Margaret. Next time I'm bringing friends and getting a pot.

We used Simply Steamed during our vacation in September. Great product! Easy to prepare, they do all the work!

This place is advertised as a restaurant, but it is more like a convenience store that happens to make very expensive, mediocre food in the back. Crab cake was mostly filler. Pick out your own bag of chips and extremely limited drink choice. Very little food for the money. We wish we had gone somewhere else.
