Shorty's Sweet Side

We had a great experience at Shorty's we had breakfast there. It didn't look like much from the road, but the food was great, the atmosphere was great, and they have outdoor seating.

Updated review: Love their breakfast and come here everytime we visit from NY. Breakfast is GREAT! However, we decided to try their ice cream one night, only to be very disappointed. There was only one girl working the outside counter. We placed our order & waited forever. In the meantime, the people who got their ice cream in front of us told the girl the ice cream was sour. The poor girl looked upset & frazzled. She was on the phone & seemed to be trying to get help. I went up & offered to try the ice cream to see if it was indeed sour. I found that the chocolate was, but the vanilla was not. We decided to stay and make all of our orders vanilla. We mainly stayed, because the poor girl that was working was SUPER friendly. If it wasn't for, we would have left. We'll definitely be back for breakfast, but no ice cream.

Old-timey 50's inside, great summer time dessert place outside. We ordered a dipped cone for kiddo, and an orange stuffy for Hubbs, piña colada stuffy for me. Not a good idea to take them home. I didn't take a pic, they were melting too fast. I ordered smalls. They were topped off over the rim- super generous with the snow cone ingredients. It still had a dollop of ice cream on top of all of that. One dollop fell over, I was able to eat the other. They were melting and spilling all over my cupholders. Once home, delivered hubbs with his choice- he took the dreamsicle. He was very concerned with the melted mess in my car. Not me. I enjoyed my creamy piña colada in its entirety before I went back to clean up the messy, sticky puddle in my cupholders. Worth it!

I love Shorty's.....LOVE! So we came by for desert for the family. My daughter wanted a root beer float. She was so disappointed when her float had a tiny dollop of ice cream and mostly root beer. My son said his chest snow cone tasted like cough syrup and wouldn't eat it. I however, enjoyed my chocolate malt although it was lacking on the malt flavor. Also, the lady running the place seems overwhelmed and frazzled. THis place is so close to my house, but I'm not sure if my kiddos will want to come back.

After a long day at Busch Gardens I wasn't in the mood to hang out there and pay an arm and a leg for ice cream. Shorty's is right up the road and has reasonable prices. I didn't partake but my girls loved it. My daughter had the chocolate malt & my niece a classic vanilla soft serve. Plenty of parking. Plenty of seating & they accept plastic. (Because I'm horrible about not caring cash)

Very good and affordable old school breakfast. We went both mornings we were there.

Fried Oreo sundae is amazingggggggg! They have the best breakfast In Williamsburg too. Use to frequent there every weekend.

Excellent breakfast with quick and efficient service. Went back a 2nd day after finding this online. It was close to our stay. Highly recommend this restaurant.
