Updating my review after attending one of their chef's dinners on a Friday night. If you're a seafood lover, Shoreline in Richmond is an absolute must-visit, and their chef's tasting dinner is an experience that shouldn't be missed. We had the pleasure of attending a 10-course dinner featuring an array of unique and beautifully prepared seafood dishes, each introduced by the chef with insights into the preparation, ingredients, and inspiration behind them. From the very first bite, it was clear that this meal was going to be special. The kampachi with white sturgeon caviar was a standout for me--delicate, rich, and bursting with flavor. The Beau Soleil oysters with yuzu and crème fraîche offered the perfect balance of briny freshness and creamy decadence. The Hokkaido sea scallop, paired with a preserved lemon sauce, was another highlight, bringing out the natural sweetness of the scallop while adding a subtle citrusy brightness.Every course showcased impeccable technique and creative pairings. The lobster and pork belly with charred broccoli, green mango, and tamarind was an unexpected yet harmonious blend of flavors, while the halibut with lotus root in a lemongrass broth was both comforting and refined. The snow crab chawanmushi (a delicate Japanese egg custard) was an elegant dish that melted in my mouth, complemented by hearts of palm and sesame.Dessert was equally memorable--the sake sorbet was a refreshing palate cleanser, and the white chocolate ganache with blood orange curd and rosemary crumble provided the perfect balance of sweetness and citrusy brightness to end the meal.Beyond the food itself, what made this evening truly special was the chef's passion and storytelling. Learning about the inspiration behind each dish added depth to the experience, making every bite even more meaningful.Shoreline has created something truly exceptional with this tasting menu. Every dish was expertly executed, beautifully plated, and deeply satisfying. If you have the opportunity to attend one of these dinners, don't hesitate--it's an unforgettable culinary journey that celebrates the best of seafood with innovation and finesse.

Really cool vibe and nice people. Allison served us up a lunch menu snack of Chesapeake oyster and bacon stew, and a Gulf Rock Shrimp and crayfish roll. Tasty work by Enrique and Josh in the kitchen. Wine flowed easily at the curved bar overlooking the kitchen. There are refrigerators loaded with seafood salads and veggies, seafood fresh and frozen. Great looking 10-course dinner menu, reservations only for 1-10 people and only one group nightly for full engagement with the chef and staff . New place, give them a shot!

My wife and I absolutely adore this place. We get a lot of pantry items from here such as canned fish and clams and calamari. The food they serve during lunch is top notch. Had a halibut sandwich and a crab roll with some sticky rice sticks. Everything was perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. Service was great everyone was super nice.

Relaxing atmosphere in which to dine on some of these amazing dishes, lunch or dinner, as well as shop for your next meal at home. They have top quality fresh seafoods, prepared meals, sides desserts and other dishes. Plus a modest market stocked with many delicious provisions, wines and other beverages.

This wonderful place has only been open for two weeks and already appears to be wildly successful. It is owned and operated by Davis Whitby, former owner of the Yellow Umbrella, also a very successful seafood market. This market has a large selection of fresh fish and seafood as well as high-end tinned goods. My wife and I sat at the counter for lunch, happily we arrived early as it became rather busy. The counter was the only place to eat. We both had the Jumbo Lump Crab Salad Roll ($21). I had a side of Yukon Gold Salt Potatoes ($5) and she had the Sticky Rice Fries ($6). Everything was fresh, tasty and nicely presented. And when we paid, surprise!, there is no tipping here. The staff is properly compensated. This is a wonderful market/restaurant. The service was outstanding. As mentioned, arrive early if you can because the counter seats are limited.

Amazing place. Having grown up in Massachusetts and spent many years living in Fort Lauderdale, I was accustomed to great fresh seafood. This place holds up to the best of them. Outstanding quality at a more than fair price (management please don't take this as an indication to raise prices haha) Got the Tuna and Shrimp to cook at home and it was superb. The dine in menu showed real New England clam rolls so will be back to try. Welcome to the neighborhood. So glad to have you here

Expectations were high. Expectations were met.Fresh seafood offerings are amazing, and the display makes it tough to choose from the amazing options.Prepared food selection is great as well.Pricing is consistent with what one would expect for higher-end fresh seafood. I'd say prepared food pricing was certainly better than expected.Haven't yet tried the lunch counter, but it's on the list. Also excited to check out their dinner service at some point. It's bound to impress.

What a wonderful addition to the Richmond food scene! A fish market and gourmet restaurant in one place. We came to get a beautiful piece of rockfish and stayed for lunch at the bar. Andrea the chef explains what is to offer on the short but delicious menu. My husband chose the grilled fish sandwich of the day which was halibut. I chose the smoked oyster and bacon chowder which came with homemade oyster crackers. We shared the rather large green salad. Next time we will be more adventurous!
