Serenity Nail and Day Spa

Wow! Haven't been here in a few years and since the new management, the place is a complete 180! Customer service is great. From my observations everyone looked really happy and relaxed with their services. My person for my manicure and pedicure was so meticulous. I was surprised to be receiving such exceptional services around the area as it can be hard to find with decent prices. They also offer snacks and drinks. The atmosphere is clean. Even the bathroom is relaxing! I won't spill the surprise and instead let you find it for yourself. Really enjoyed going back here under the new management. It was a nice surprise and not disappointing.

Came here based on neighbor recommendations. Brought my daughter (10) for her first mani/pedi. Was not super impressed. First, the woman who did my daughter's nails had no personality and seemed miserable and unsmiling. My daughter was a little apprehensive of the whole thing and so every time my daughter had an issue, the tech would come to me, but in like, an exasperated way. Didn't even try to reassure my daughter or make it seem fun. Seemed to not know how to work with kids to make it enjoyable for them. As for myself, the tech was fine. I paid for a basic manicure (no gel since I wanted to see how they were), and the next level pedicure. They were just OK but not a lot spent on foot and calf or hand massages. Overall for both of us, it was about $135. I think that was with tip. Kid's mani and pedi were $20 each, my "fancy" pedicure was $48 I think, and manicure was $35? Now, I'm from NYC , and when you give a tip, they give you a nice back massage at the chair for like 5 minutes. Not here, so I was disappointed. Prices are cheaper in NYC as well. I was not a fan of the line of polishes they carry. I like Essie or OPI polishes and they were not available. Just some name I've never heard of. I like subtle, natural, nude/natural colors, and the closest I could find turned out to look like pastel dry erase chalk. Fine for brighter colors for pedi, but not the look I wanted for mani. Honestly, I could've saved a ton of money and just given my daughter her mani/pedi at home, but wanted her to have a good experience. She didn't have a great experience and probably won't go with me again. I'll be trying other nail salons. This just didn't cut it.

They were all very polite here and the atmosphere was great. Everything felt very calm. I had Sophia do my nails and she did a really great job and she was so nice!! I would definitely come back.

Amazing and kind staff, Quick service, complimentary drinks, and a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. I 100% recommend!

Responding to Dan.....I'm reviewing the right salon which is next door to crumble cookie and the hotdog spot. It occurred Feb 10th vice the 11th because i remember talking to the guy the Lunar New Year!

I won't be returning after my visit today. I have been here many times and the staff has always been nice. My usual nail tech has moved away and for the last two visits (a fill prior and full set w/gel today) was with Selina. The last visit she gave me a hard time about the nail polish I chose asking me to pick another because she felt that color wad too transparent. Two things, first I've use colors from that book numerous times at this salon and others with no issue ( which I told her). Second, it's the customer's choice...figure it out, maybe 3 coats instead of 2. Today I intentionally chose a different tech only to be placed with Selina again because the tech I scheduled with only does pedicures. Selina proceeded to tell me why did I schedule with that tech she only does pedicures. Seems like a booking issue to me. Serenity's booking site asks what service you want then has you choose a tech for date and time. How would someone know that? Whatever...I start my full set with Selina. Super easy request almond shape that sharp around the tip not rounded (like oval). She proceed to cut the tips like a triangle (literally) after I showed her the picture of exactly what I wanted. I stopped her right there and told her it was ugly and it needed to be fixed. It was fixed but she seemed irritated and proceeded to tell me "well you wanted sharp." I said, I showed you a picture of exactly I wanted. After all was done I go up to pay for services and she charges me $60 for the full set. I know it's advertised as $50+ but I literally asked for a simple full set. There's not even polish color on it just a clear gel coat. She tells me it's because of my length and shaping. Y'all when you get a full set don't they have to cut down the tip and shape it? I could understand if I asked for long nails with crazy artwork and design but for what I got wouldn't that be part of the service as they do ask you what shape you want? Btw, she did this to me last time and charged me $5.00 more when I asked her to shape my nails down a bit shorter since it grew by that much. Hmm don't they file to shape it when you get them filled? I am happy to pay and tip for service especially if I am treated well and get what I ask for or how about be just be transparent and let your customer know ahead of time. I just felt with her that I was nickel and dimed for what most places include as part of the service. No other nail tech there or in many of the other places I've been have changed me the way she has and I found that to be very unscrupulous business practice. Again, not about the money but the principal. The final straw was that she had the audacity to tell me she didn't charge me the bit of acrylic she had to place on the triangle nails to fix the shape. Uhh yeah you needed to fix it, it was not acceptable. Never again and that is too bad because my pedicure with Joseph was excellent.
