Second Street American Bistro

I went here for dinner. The place was busy however we were seated much quicker than what they advised the wait would be. The place was very nice and perfect for a date night dinner. The place was clean and comfortable.The food and drinks were great. I had the steak with potatoes and green beans. The steak was cooked perfectly and the presentation was outstanding. Had the mistletoe mule and it was very good. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice dinner

I've looked through these reviews pretty rigorously before I decided to order. Not one I can see has suggested the 2nd Street Bistro Pasta. That was hands down kind the best pastas I have had in a very long time. I also tried a bite of the 2nd Street Lasagna. Which was good but no where near as mind blowing as the pasta dish. The server was friendly albeit very slow. I'll chalk it up to being a very busy Saturday night though. Tons of locals always a good sign and a must try if you are in the Williamsburg area.

Found this gem searching on line when on a quick trip to Williamsburg. Place was definitely packed on a Friday night but we were seated immediately. Great staff and great atmosphere, no music and quite quiet, definitely not a rowdy place which I can appreciate. It was restaurant week so I ordered off that menu, had bacon lentil soup to start( was exceptional) and steak pasta for main entrees! Great portion and very good. Husband had duck wontons (Amazing) and blue cheese burger with fries. Burger was huge and tasted fantastic. Over all great experience love this place and will definitely visit again when I'm Williamsburg.

The good: No wait for a table at 5:30 and some of the food we enjoyed was tasty such as the fried ricotta and the lasagna and the prime rib French dip. The not so good: Our waitress was kind but I asked twice for a straw and never got one, the side salad that was supposed to be shared came out on my dinner plate, she acknowledged that she saw it coming out of the kitchen that way and didn't even offer to go grab another plate since she knew we were sharing the salad. Mashed potatoes were cold, and the chicken tenders were not piping hot like they should be coming out of the kitchen. In general we have had better service there and hot food. For the price point I expect that.

This is a very nice restaurant in the touristy town of Williamsburg. The service is very nice and friendly. The bar and main restaurant is nicely decorated. We went for lunch and there were happy hour specials!The food is pretty good too and the serving size is pretty good. Get the Gouda as a side with any meal... it was soooo good. The quiche and Reuben are also really good choices.

I do not expect restaurants to know this until we inform them, but my wife is ALLERGIC to both gluten & lactose. We chose to come here based on their GF offerings and extensive salad choices. Until we saw their allergy menu! Kudos for having one, but if EVERY dish on the menu has lots of skull & crossbones symbols (not really, just way too many potential allergens), you may want to see how you can still present tasty offerings without potentially getting a large swath of the population sick! They only had three items listed as GF, and they all had dairy, very disappointing. She eventually modified a dish and lunch was tasty, as well as good service, but please have your executive chef figure something out!

My girls and I are here and everything was marvelous! The appetizer of Pork Belly Bites was on point. Delicious!My two girls had the French Onion Soup which they both agreed didn't have enough saltiness.My Creamy Tomato Bisque was very good. The salads we had were very large and filling. We liked that they put the shrimp on the side so you could determine if you wanted it in the salad or as a little zesty side. The food was staggered so we didn't end up with everything on our table at once. We never felt rushed. Our waitress was very attentive. From start to finish it was a good experience.

I don't hand out five stars lightly. But our dining experience was five stars from start to finish. Despite being an increasingly busy dinner hour, we were seated quickly in the amazing Shae's (sp?) section. She was sweet, funny, professional and very quick to take our drink and kids meal orders. She recommended the crimson and clover house wine which my sister in law and I split. It was refreshing and delicious! The kids' meals came quickly as did my tomato bisque (which very well may be the best tomato bisque I've ever eaten). The kids were very happy with their hamburger and pizza options. I ordered the veggie quinoa bowl which was spectacular. Shae recommended the marinated, grilled tofu as a protein and I was not disappointed. I'm picky about my tofu but it was flavorful and well cooked vs being spongey and tasteless like most efforts). My husband and brother in law were happy with the it burgers and my sister in law was pleased with her salmon. All in all, fantastic service and food. It's a lovely little restaurant that you can dress up for on a date night, or take the kids to for family dinner. They ample indoor and outdoor seating for large parties too.
