This motel did what it needed to do, but that was about it. We stayed for 3 nights, and overall, was decent but definitely not great. It is the only location that offers check-in for 18+, instead of the typical 21+ around Virginia Beach, which made the motel pretty much our only option for a beach trip, which is why I likely am a little more filtered/biased. (Unfortunately, there were no photos taken during the stay, but photos of lower reviews are certainly accurate to our experience)The door into the room from the outside was not very well taken care of and did not seal the room, probably causing the bugs that we saw, as well as making for my concern about safety during our stay. Me and my partner are quite paranoid and decided to move a piece of furniture in front of the door in order to make sure it stayed closed during the night, but I still didn't feel safe. Most appliances were dirty; the microwave was very not well taken care of and had food residue on all interior walls, stovetop had food and grease build-up, and the sinks had gunk build up on the sides and pipes, too. We were pleasantly surprised with the state of the linens, towels, and washcloths, though! They had no odor on them, were clean of stains, and felt clean to the touch. I would still recommend spraying with a cleaner though, especially if you plan on using the couch or cloth furniture, which didn't seem to even be vacuumed (we did not use the furniture for sitting out of caution). The place itself was not presented very well, had debris along the floor, stains on the walls and frames of doors/baseboards, much trash buildup in the parking lot, outside the door, and lakefront. I recommend ALWAYS wearing some sort of shoe or non-cloth foot covering, since the ground was just so ill-maintained.

We stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The manager and his wife were friendly and helpful. Everything in the room worked well, the fridge, the microwave, the hairdryer, the cable tv and the a/c. The room was clean with no carpet.We got a room looking out over the lake. The ducks and seagulls would come up and eat bread from you. The only con I have is that I would of liked a more comfortable bed but we will be staying here next time we come to Virginia Beach.

9/3/20*Part 2 of 2*Upon walking to 7 Eleven for toothbrush and mouthwash for my wife,  I noticed the broken staircase  on the far left of the buliding that has yet to be fixed.  Little Tiffany of only 13 came to the beach to fulfill her big dream, better watch her footing around these unsafe stairs.BUT WAIT?!, THERE IS MORE. SAFE THE BEST FOR LAST...When came to our door at 128, my wife put the key card against the sensor and the door did not open properly.   We tried again and I got the door open.   What I notice right quick is the door DOOR DOES NOT LOCK CORRECTLY WHEN YOU ARE NOT IN THE ROOM.  I noticed two other people (both of whom I don't know) push again the door which nearly opens up. A large gap will appear between the door and it opening all the way. Your foot to the door would be all it took for the small gap to turn into a grand theft problem.  Infact the only way the door stayed locked is when we were INSIDE OUR ROOM AND USED THE DEADBOLT. If you leave your humble abode so to speak, you are shit out of luck for 128 and the other two rooms I saw.Everytime we left the the room to go elsewhere,  I had to double check the door. This Inn did not leave me feeling like our stuff would be protected properly. The Staff: I personally met three different staff members who I came into contact with.  I only remember one of the staffs names. This person's name is Theresa and she is a housekeeper. My wife and I called the front desk receptionist and requested a do not disturb  for our hotel room because we did find the do not disturb sign. The front desk person said he would take care of it.Nevertheless, my wife had doubts about this. When I met one of the housekeepers, Theresa informed me that the line of communication between front desk and housekeeper's are nonexistent.  I quote "They don't tell us anything."  Theresa was pleasant enough, but I got the feeling she is not the person to spend to much time around.  I was able to get some stuff from her and let her know we did not need room service for our stay.  The idea of a house keeper getting sticky fingers or cleaning the toilet bowl with your toothbrush  didn't sit well with me when I saw a YouTube video on this. My wife and I decided to solve this problem by not having room service for our stay...Yeah I know this is not a full proof solution,  but it does give us peace of mind. I am also NOT SAY Theresa is a thief either, so don't get it twisted. I am simply saying I don't trust this hotel after the things I was exposed to on our first night there.Speaking of sticky fingers and I am not talking about theft or itching  butt, smelly fingers, but about Theresa's cart. Her cart was covered with little black ant  aka Monomorium minimum.  The ants either had a nest in her cart or someone left something  sweet to eat on in the cart.  I should have taken a photo of this, but I didn't. Theresa's cart looked like it had seen better days and so did the stock room where the cart was kept.The two other staff members I saw were pleasant as far as standard checking in and checking out is concerned.  Anything else besides this is unknown.   From the reviews I read, this place will refuse give refunds to pisspoor room. Even if the bed has cigarette burn(s) on the bed (which I did see in our room 128), seminal fluid on the walls (Yes, I saw this on the wall near table) or sheets or any other bodily fluids in the room. Oh, and don't get me started  bed bugs other people have talked about seeing here.  I did not have pleasure of seeing these vile creatures, but I am thankful we did not gave them in our room.It can truly be said "You get what you pay for", but I am happy to have been able to spend the time with my wife anywhere.For better or worse they say...guess those rules apply to this establishment...still, I will be notifying Osha will be notified about these findings.I will finish by saying this..."My father used to say: "The first time someone calls you a horse you punch him on the nose, the second time someone calls you a horse you call him a jerk but the third time someone calls you a horse, well then perhaps it's time to go shopping for a saddle." I would never stay here again, we lasted about an hour at the disgusting hotel, I didn't even want to put my bags in the floor it was so dirty. We rented two nights here July 14 and 15. We were coming from Ocracoke island to get away from Tropical storm Elisa. We unfortunately booked this place in the car and did not check reviews. We just needs a place to stay to get out of the rain and the car. The pictures online that my husband looked at looked okay but where not what we got by any means, everything was completely run down. The whole room was disgusting, the water nozzle broke off in the tub and we were moved to another room. This room had broken cabinets, like they were kicked in, everything was sticky, the entire room looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months! The window shad was broken so we couldn't close it and the door barely locked. I was terrified to put anything down. I went down and asked for a refund considering we had to switch rooms due to a broken tub and the new room was so filthy there was no way I was staying there. We had only been there for about an hour, and the guy was fine giving the refund despite the no refunds sign, but how anyone can rent rooms that look like this is beyond me.

I booked this hotel with booking.com we needed a wheelchair accessible. I made sure this was what we needed by calling and requesting on messages. They're not wheelchair accessible even tho they do advertise they are. doors small and steps on the way. Over a month now and still waiting on my refund. They don't help in any way to get that done or at least get to an agreement. Manger never available. I called several times and still nothing. do your self a favor and stay away from this place.

I arrived at va beach at 2:30 am went from hotel to hotel no one would answer the door/bell. I had to sleep in the car! Woke up at 6 am went driving to find a hotel room. A lady at the red roof told me I can pay here personally 200$ for a room that early. I drove passed this hotel truned around and went to talk to sandy at this hotel he was very nice and very accommodating and let us check in early was also very helpful definitely stay here! Great prices! Great room and great service! I will only stay here with him.

The owners and the staff are so friendly and super personable. They helped us with everything. From holding our reservarion despite so much traffic coming through, to getting us extra towels and cups, and even helping us to find a parking spot when the lot was full! The maintenance guys were hard working and I swear all of the staff including the owners were there 24/7 I don't know how!!! It's super close to the beach and walking distance of a lot of things. Next time we're in Virginia Beach, we will be staying there.

We were very impressed! We got a room right on the pond with Geese and turtles. We want to thanks George, Sandy, MK, Hiki, and Dale for exceeding our expectations. We did not expect to be impressed and we were trying to save a little money by getting a lesser Hotel. Not the case. If you're looking for a good affordable place to stay, this is it!

Do NOT make a reservation here especially a refundable one because they will not cancel and refund I have been trying to cancel a reservation for days made through my bank and subsequently Expedia apparently and I was given the run around and now they are saying they can't refund it because it's too late. Telling me to talk to the property manager Elijah but he will not call me back. I have called at least 20x emailed etc. This error is costing me $800 for 2 nights and now they are dragging their feet to the day of check in. They are basically stealing from me and will NOT let me talk to the only person that supposedly has the authority. Crooks

Just RUN! Not safe. The owner locks the whole place down and took 30 mins to get her to wake up and check us in. Nothing works here. Just pay a little extra extra and just go somewhere else. I have asthma and reacted to the mold right away. I see what they are trying to do but they need to try harder
